Karnataka BJP MLA warns Muslims: 'We are 80%, you are 17%; don't oppose CAA'

Amid ongoing protests against the discriminatory Citizenship Amendment Act, Karnataka BJP leader Somashekar Reddy asked in an apparent warning to Muslims to imagine what would happen the majority hit the streets.

NDTV quoted Reddy as saying, “Be careful because we are 80% of the population while you are just 15%. You are just a minority, and I want you to think what will happen if the majority comes out on the streets against you all.”

A video of the speech was widely shared moments after the rally.

“Bewakoofs (idiots) from Congress are lying to you on CAA and you are believing what they say and are coming out onto the the streets. Imagine what your situation will be if we turn against you,” he said.

Reddy suggested minorities need to adapt to Indian culture
if they wanted to live in India. “This is our country. You have to live in our country,” he said.

Having said that some muslims too need to remain calm till NRC bill gets introduced by BJP as BJP says NRC is still not discussed & it is still in draft.

I have voted for BJP in 2019 & I will vote for BJP in 2024 too.

Muslims made a mistake during partition. When Congress wanted Punjab and Bengal partitioned, the Muslim League should have insisted that every province where Muslims were a minority would also be partitioned.

Indian Muslims will be second class citizens under the eyes of BJP and their supporters until they assimilate into their culture, like this MLA is suggesting.

Why not take Muslims from neighboring countries like China, and Myanmar? Why not take Hindus from Sri Lanka?

many SL hindus have already got indian citizenship & hence they r officially not included as I said this CAB law has no problem for any indian

but yes NRC can be problematic for indian muslims with no documents
