because pak will always choose a player who average 37 with a s/r of 40 in test versus a player who averages 35 with a s/r of 65.

defensive mentality runs up and down pak cricket. even attacking young players start blocking for fear of judgement as soon as they have a low score.

It took a while but Mickey Arthur implemented the correct style of play in ODI cricket.

Agreed, Misbah was adept at sweeping and reverse sweeping the spinners.

The current lot however don't make any effort to impose themselves on the opposition attack. We need a big 1st inns lead as the history at this ground shows chasing in the 4th inns is tough, but at this rate we'd be lucky to match SL's 222.

The way these guys are batting against Jayasuriya leads me to believe that they have probably seen nothing or very little of him and have had no plans on how to rotate the strike against him.
