Lahore Qalandars (201/6) thrash Karachi Kings (136) with a commanding 65-run victory in Match 6 of PSL X

Selecting washed-up Warner was a big mistake and don't forget Warner is highest paid player in PSL history. :kp

I heard Warner said there is no bowler or team which is difficult to face in PSL.

How many runs he scored in first 2 matches ?

Niazi will need to learn to follow through with his shots and back power more than jabs or punches. Otherwise it will be hard for him to become a "power hitter".

Shaheen has finished the game in 1st over itself. He is Only dangerous in his first over most of the times :kp

Solid bowling attack

LQ were let back into this tournament by QG and now they will find that championship form

So far this PSL has been a complete joke. Bat first, big total and chasing teams tripping over themselves to collapse as soon as possible. Pathetic display from nearly all chasing teams this tournament and it just shows how many of these Pakistani players simply can't bat under pressure of a big total.

Highest score for Qalandars against Karachi Kings in PSL:

201/6 in Karachi in 2025 - TONIGHT
190/2 in Lahore in 2020
189/4 in Karachi in 2021

It seems like Rishad Hossain has covered the gap that was left by Rashid Khan. It may very well be now that Lahore win PSL again.

The one sided nature of the matches is infuriating to see as a fan. No competition or fight makes for such boring cricket, no wonder the fans don't want to show up to the stadiums to watch this mediocrity. Every match except one has followed the same pattern, the match already over before the batting power play is over in the second innings.

Also as a bonus, Arafat Minhas has been a major disappointment. I guess he just doesn't have the skill required at this level & him playing for Pak was a one off. The man missed a simple run out of Mitchel that cost him and his team additional four runs, the bowling is poor, & the batting looks absolutely clueless.

Abbas Afridi & Jahandad have both been poor as well. I know it's not a lot of matches but the mindset & skill shines through if someone has it. You are batting at five or six down & the match is lost, what is stopping you from scoring a good 20-30 & spending some time in the middle? Pak needs players who have the mongrel to fight to cover up the skill gap with int'l teams but these players look like they are made of glass & break the instant there's an iota of pressure on them.

Bro even arafat minhas looks ordinary pakistan best talent in spin so far is sufiyan muqeem.

The game is done and dusted , PSL has regressed a lot , instead of getting stronger . Bad sign for pakistan cricket.

Shan Masood the Test captain batting at No.4 sums up PSL, with T20 suitable like Amir Jamal warming the bench , no brainer Jehandad over Shan anyday

What has happened to Zaman Khan?

Even Waqar was baffled as the guy has dropped in pace considerably, he's falling at the crease with his back leg bending considerably.

I tend to agree with his analysis on Zaman also the fact that when he's running in he's not even ooking at the batter or where he's looking to land the ball but is actually just looking down.

Our bowlers have weak frail bodies and they just cannot sustain the grind required to play cricket at a higher level. Something to do with nutrition management once you turn pro & also diet & growth when the bodies are growing in younger years. The drop in pace & change in action is not a case of just a few, it's almost an issue faced by every single bowler. Name one bowler who has gained pace after making their debut & you just can't.

The talent pool in Pakistan has dried up like River Ravi , where's the next Jonty Rhodes wheres the next Keiron Pollard where's the next Richard Levi

That's true but it's remarkable that our players just don't have the desire or will to improve. I guess it's a special Pakistani thing as most of us end up like that.

I'm bitter these days so I'll not say anything here but you are right. The culture of hard work is evading Pak pretty much these days in every field. I hope someone & something turns our luck, so tired of being the butt of jokes & condescending arguments.

The advantage of having only 6 teams is one cannot decide immediately which is the worst, PSL needs expansion but more than that they need quality OS players

Not sure what doom and gloom is about. There is so much fast bowling talent in Pakistan, it's ridiculous

Fawad Ali
Ali Raza
Ubaid Shah
Mohammad Zeeshan

Then there's the old guard of

Rauf
Shaheen
Naseem
Dahani
Hasnain
Hasan Ali 3.0

And that's only 10 that I know of.

Credit to the Lahore Qalandars management for identifying their weaknesses and learning from their mistakes professionally.

Zaman has decided to become a T20 specialist. I doubt if he has played any 4 day cricket yet. T-20 specialists eventually become masters at taking short cuts.

Lahore Qalandars secured a commanding 65-run victory over Karachi Kings in the sixth match of HBL PSL X at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on Tuesday night, powered by explosive half-centuries from Fakhar Zaman and Daryl Mitchell.

Shaheen Shah Afridi and Rishad Hossain delivered relentless bowling spells, each picking up three wickets to bowl out the hosts for 136 in 19.1 overs, well short of the 202-run target.

Qalandars captain Shaheen once again struck in the first over, removing Karachi skipper David Warner and in-form James Vince—who had scored a century in the previous match—for ducks.

Leg-spinner Rishad continued the onslaught by dismissing Shan Masood (18 off 14, 3x4s) and Tim Seifert (18 off 22, 3x4s), tightening Qalandars’ grip on the game. Karachi collapsed to 46 for 5 inside the first eight overs, leaving their lower middle-order with a monumental task.

Khushdil Shah and Hasan Ali showed some resistance with a late 48-run partnership for the eighth wicket. Hasan chipped in with 27 off 25 balls, while Khushdil top-scored with 39 off 27 deliveries, including four boundaries and two sixes.

Sikandar Raza wrapped up the innings by dismissing the last batter, Adam Milne, for 16, sealing Lahore’s second win of the season.

Earlier, after losing two quick wickets, Lahore bounced back through a dominant 76 off 47 balls from Fakhar (6x4s, 5x6s) and a blistering 41-ball 64 from Mitchell, featuring nine fours and two sixes. Their 125-run stand off 70 balls for the third wicket turned the tide in Qalandars’ favour with a barrage of boundaries.

Despite Hasan Ali’s impressive four-wicket haul (4-28), late fireworks from Sikandar Raza (10* off 5, 2x4s) and Sam Billings (19 off 10, 2x4s, 1x6) helped Lahore breach the 200-run mark, capping off a dominant first-innings performance.

While speaking to the media, Hasan stated that the team started well, but their batting didn’t work out this time:

“Losing wickets at regular intervals made it hard for us to build partnerships,”

“That impression is wrong. Seifert and Shan tried to build a partnership but we kept losing wickets,”

“We are playing Arafat as a player while Khushdil Shah is used as proper all-rounder. Mohammad Nabi will be included in the team according to the conditions,”

David Warner while speaking at the post-match presentation:

“Losing those wickets in the powerplay, you’d probably still take the game on but it didn’t work out. One of those games you forget about,”

“If we didn’t get out to bad bowling, there’s a lot of positives from it. Thought there would be a lot more dew, 200 was par,”

“If we caught a bit better and bowled well, it would’ve been easier,”

“I’m loving the energy of this group, everyone’s trying their best both on and off the field. Absolutely loving my time here,”

I watched the entire match. The newly established portion was wonderful. For the first time I stayed there till the completion of ceremony

Alhamdulillah it was a perfect day for me.
Fakhar was my captain.
Hasan ali, Rishad, Shaheen, Raza , Khushdil all were in my team.

Shaheen Shah Afridi at the post-match presentation:

"It’s good to see the team in good shape. The foreign players are performing well too.

I have one long-term plan — I hit the right length and get the results. I always bowl to my strengths.

Rishad has been performing really well for Bangladesh. He’s the future star of Bangladesh.

Fakhar has been playing for Qalandars for the last 9 years. He was instrumental in us posting a big total. To be honest, it was a 170 pitch, but he and Mitchell took the score to over 200."

Fakhar Zaman at the post-match presentation:

"As I mentioned in the previous match, if an opener scores, it increases the team’s chances. With the type of bowling we have, we can perform well. They deserve a lot of credit.

My role has always been that of an aggressor. The wicket wasn’t very favorable, but we decided to focus on building a partnership first, then going for the big shots. We wanted to keep wickets in hand.

It’s tough to come back after an injury. I wasn’t at my best in the last match, and today was also challenging for me. Yes, I’ve received two Player of the Match awards, but it’s never easy. The PCB and Lahore Qalandars have taken great care of me, and that has helped a lot."

It was an amazing experience to watch the game from hospitality box of National stadium karachi
For me it was the worst experience. There were no replays even for reviews and runouts. Poor quality food being sold at 4 x times prices. seats were pathetic and full of dust. 1 score board in the whole stadium (although it was clearly visible to me in Imran Khan Enclosure). They dont allow earpods, drinks and eatables etc. from outside, Cherry on the top the game was one sided. People not coming to the stadium
