What's new

Last 3 World Cups (2015, 2011, 2007) Winners - only one thing in common!

Having a fast strike is important to win championships. It isn't rocket science, the faster you can score then the more you post on the board in 50 overs batting first and the faster your run rate is while batting second then you can chase down even the biggest totals as fast as possible. Having a high strike means you got that killer instinct.

Not necessarily, how have NZ got to the final?

The pitch and conditions dictate strike rate, home teams always gain the advantage by preparing pitches they are comfortable on.

The OP isn’t looking at other factors and why I feel its a poor thread

An outlier doesn't negate a normal distribution. Like in any bellcurve there are standards of deviations and this time NZ fall outside the curve.

You joined the forum in 2016. So you have no idea what a lot of "fans/experts" felt about Misbah's S/R of 70 from 2011-2015. Search the threads created by me with Strike Rate or Misbah in the title of the thread. You will know..... that teaching those fans rocket science would been much easier that tell that S/R is much more important then the average in ODI cricket. :)

This thread is for those "old timers"!

They all fielded first also in the final. This World Cup, teens batting first have won a lot more

Make it last FOUR World Cups!

The Pattern HOLDs!
