Hello,
Those living in Pakistan, which LED TV are you using these days and how much it costs?

I am finding it hard to find a decent LED TV in Pakistan within 50-70k (43-49 inches), I wonder if anyone's also struggling with finding a good TV within purchasable range.

It is difficult to find a 43-49 inch in your price range. Perhaps you should check TCL, they are cheaper than the more reputed brands but the quality is top-notch.

You can get Haier, TCL and other local brands 43-47 for less thn 50k they are decent quality.

I got my Samsung led 3d tv (43 inches) for 80k a few years ago on sale. I think it was from ocean mall in Karachi

Depends on your budget.

I’ve bought a couple of OLEDs in the last 2 years and the picture is stunning.

I think the price is coming down, though still expensive.

The best led are the high end sony or the Samsung qled series.

There are a couple of reviewers on YouTube that are decent. HDTV Test and AV Forums.

HISENSE are good value if you’re not a cinophile.

I am def. not getting OLEDs at this price.

Prices are going up in Pakistan, thanks to devaluation.

Problem is that TCL reviews are of US models which are usually good, while the ones in Pakistan are crap. Even with Hisense there are some differences.

And none of the Pakistan reviewer do TV in a correct manner. There are only handful of local TV reviews and most of them are paid ones which goes through the specs list.

But yes, I feel that Hisense is a good value. I am going to look for hisense tomorrow.

Those were good times. These days prices of Chinese LEDs are going up at 4-5k per month.

In my personal experience TCL is better than Haier.

TCL was my first though as they are popular worldwide and they own a panel making plant in China which is rare.

But when I went into the shops of Islamabad to see TCL TV, I was shocked by their terrible LCD quality even for 4k TVs. Their viewing angles were as bad as ones from early 2000 and they couldnt even display plain gray color without uneven clouding all over panel. Some also complain about their terrible support service. Anything under 90-100k is crap from TC. (D3000, S6500, P6, P65)

Haier doesnt even go above 43 inches.

You can get Haier, TCL and other local brands 43-47 for less thn 50k they are decent quality.

Haier is also terrible with TVs.

It is difficult to find a 43-49 inch in your price range. Perhaps you should check TCL, they are cheaper than the more reputed brands but the quality is top-notch.

It is sad considering that I was able to get one at much lower price years back.

There was an Indian reviewer on YouTube. The models he reviews should be applicable.

Search tv review India.

We have a Samsung and a Sony, both 40 inches. Fantastic viewing experience. I prefer the Sony due to it’s slightly rich black levels.

Both of them cost Rs. 55,000 (approx). Don’t know how much it would be in Pakistani Rupees.

Def. more than 110,000PK RS.

How do you expect to get a 43-49 inches LED TV for just 50,000 PKR? I’d suggest you spend a little more and get one of a reputed brand.

I bought LG 26 inch with great viewing angles 5-6 years ago. At 35,000PKR. Options werent supposed to be that bad at 70k after so many years.

Went to shops today (Islamabad), Hisense is nowhere to be found. TCL was okay but price difference wasnt much and they had horrible deformed gray in their TV UIs.

Two models that I'm able to find in range are TCL 43 P65 (S6500 was too bad) and Samsung 43NU7100. There are few old 1080p LGs (LJ510/610) around 50k, and one offered a Panasonic option with a 'blank warranty card' (49e330m).

There's absolutely no neutral way to find how TCL models stack against each other in PK and how Samsung's entry 4K stacks up against TCL counterparts. And no body knows how TCL (PK) TV fare in longer run.

If it’s a long term investment then play it safe.

If your looking to upgrade in 12-18 months you could probably risk it. But accept the risk you might end up with a complete dud for a year

How much are LG in Pakistan?

They’re probably the best value company when it comes to TVs. Not outstanding in any field but good all-rounders and significantly cheaper

I bought the Sony OLED last year.

It’s as much a piece of art as it is a TV.

Around Samsung in Pakistan. 20k more than TCL. Yes I like their LEDs but they are mostly warrantyless in Pakistan.

I am planning to step down towards 1080p in 43inches to have lesser risk. There are plenty of 1080p 43inches Chinese options in 30-40k, even an 1080p LG order model costs around 48k.

There isn’t a huge amount of 4K content out there. But it’s growing fast.

You won’t complain with a good 1080p.

Xiaomi's Mi TV and other brands like VU TV, TCL, Sanyo, Micromax, thomson, kodak, iFFalcon are available as budget alternatives in India which cost much lower than Sony, Samsung etc.

My advise for you in Pakistan will be to just check out Indian websites like Amazon.in and Flipkart for TV's and then check for those brands in your local market, you will definitely find one or two such budget brands in Pakistan and before buying you can check detailed reviews on Youtube as there are many Indian tech youtubers who review all budget options.

Amazon and Flipkart themselves have hundreds of reviews, so a good starting point, i will give direct links to TV section:

Its not that simple, our country is packed with corruption.

They dont let useful models come in. They only got Mi 4 65 TV which is priced at 2.5lacs. They never bought 3 series or smaller ones because they were going to kill the competition.

Even if some are able to do it, they're taxed heavily. One can get a decent 400$ TV in US/India but not here.

Also, companies try to compensate this by reducing the cost (and quality) of TVs. This is why models that are being sold in India and US are different from ones in Pakistan.

You have not looked at their prices, right?

Ok, checked the budget models listings in Pakistan and you are right, they are Pakistan specific models and not able to find global or Indian reviews for them. Still , keep looking and you may find something which has reviews available on global websites.

Also, no use of arguing with people who earn in Pounds and Dollars, they will never understand your situation or your point of view, just do best possible research and compromise on picture quality somewhat.

I had to do the same two years back when OLED 65 inch were 3 Lakhs INR, now the OLED prices have dropped to 2 lakhs for 65 inch, that time i got VU 75 inch 4K LED for 92k INR during Flipkart discount sale, so you do the same, compromise and get the best possible in your budget.

92k INR is lot more than Pkr 80k.

Yes people dont realize that Economy here is so bad that even a 450$ TV is going out of reach now.

The only options I am able to narrow down within this range are.

Samsung 43Nu7100
LG 43UK6400 (IPS)
SAMSUNG 49N5300 (1080p but 49)
TCL P6/P65/D3000A (43,49,50)

Also saw bunch of Haier and Orient TVs, they werent good.

Nice to see that you have narrowed down to few choices, I am giving you links with hundreds of reviews and Questions and Answers on these TV's:

So I went with reviews and bought a TCL P6 (43 inch). Its a terrible TV. Wont recommend it to anyone. There is massive edgelight bleeding. I wasnt expecting to see banding at 4k but its there. Its impossible to spot pure red color in TV. Contrast is weird and people look muddy. 4K over youtube is jittery. Even regular transmission goes jittery once user open menu or anything.

Also, the eletric plug given with TV is incredibly cheap. Even my Iron got a better one.

Except China and India, xiaomi doesn't have an organized market. There are lots of "modified" MI mobile and TV around where they will install unwanted softwares. The downside is, if you aren't familiar with how miui works (for mobile) or Android TV works, you are out of luck getting rid off those.

Before buying OLEDs in Pakistan you should check the price (its much more than the OPs budget) but also warranties.
