From swing to seam, left-arm pacers bring the extra challenge. Who would you pair to form a nightmare bowling attack?

mine would be Wasim Akram and Johnson

Wasim and Starc.... Who else..

No doubts here... Best left arm pacers in cricket history

Agree. In Test, it is easily Wasim and Starc. Nobody else comes close.

In ODI, I would probably pick Vaas and Wasim. Vaas was a very good ODI bowler.

Starc and Johnson.

You lost credibility with this post. :inti

Johnson was an inconsistent spray gun. He is not an ATG. Wasim is an undisputed ATG.

Anyone who picks Johnson over Wasim either doesn't understand cricket or is just a hater.

Question is about who would you pair up not about individual bowling skills.

Starc could maintain very high average speeds and swing the ball whereas Johnson at his best could get that lift which could physically threaten any batsman

Facing that from either end would be a nightmare for sure.

LOL. You are losing it.

It is not just about pace.

McGrath didn't have high pace. Does that mean he is inferior? Use your brain. :inti
Read the thread again, it is not about who is the superior bowler, it's about which combo would be a nightmare to face.

Two left armers capable of 155 + bowling different lengths would be an absolute nightmare with Johnson pushing batsmen back with lifters and Starc hunting the stumps with inswingers.

And you are no one to give credibility checks when you have said that Vaas was superior to Johnson.

That's as stupid an opinion as it gets

Hahah... so pace is now superior??

Wasim and starc is the most deadly left arm combo in the world... Johnson has had his moments but wasim and starc are class apart

If you only want to hear what you think is the right answer, use your moderator power and modify the OP and remove Johnson, Vaas, Boult and Zaheer Khan from the list.

Your comment has to make sense na bro.... Cannot be answering wrong just because it is wasim

Wasim and McGrath are considered as the greatest pacers of all time. These two are in the highest category. Nobody disputes this except for salty Indians.

Johnson is inferior to Boult, Vaas, and even Zaheer Khan. Johnson was a spray gun who occasionally did well.

If you really care about pace, Shaun Tait was probably the paciest from Australia. :inti

Starc and Johnson, comfortably. Express pace from both ends would make batsmen dance

All the Indian kids who are new to cricket and are putting Johnson over Wasim, here are the stats for both. :inti

If you still think Johnson is better, I have to assume you do not understand cricket.

Both Starc and Johnson peaked higher than Wasim in Test cricket.
That brief Mitchell Johnson peak was one of the most frightening I've seen in cricket.

We sometimes joke about ending careers, but he literally ended the careers ( and friendships) of most of the English cricket team. It was brutal bowling. I still watch those spells sometimes when I'm bored.

Smashed, England, South Africa and won a World Cup, it was a dream run.

Most consistently brutal bowling ever seen.

Shoaib was not consistent enough but only he bowled random deliveries with more physical threat.

Johnson in 2013/14 was the ultimate terror .

I'll disagree with anyone who says bowlers in the past were more hostile . Except, like I said earlier, random Akhtar spells

Wasim and Mitch Johnson

Mitch to put the frighteners in the batters and sultan of swing to bamboozle them.

2-3 years of peak bowling doesn't mean a bowler is an ATG. Those bowlers are fake ATGs (like Bumrah). :inti

A true ATG is someone who does well for 10-20 years. Bowlers like McGrath, Wasim, Steyn, Starc etc. Longevity matters too.

Wasim and Starc for me, any pitch any conditions - they could bowl magic balls to completely change the game.
as far as reverse swing goes, Wasim was the king and daylight between the rest.

Funny the ******it had to bring in Bumrah in a thread on left armers, some scars run deep :bumrah
