Lessons to learn from the last Pakistan India game?

Ever since the Ind Pak final became a possibility , I have been re watching the highlights of what was one of the worse days to be a Pakistan Fan.

I thought some glaring errors were obvious and Sarfraz got to them

1- Bowling Imad instead of a fast bolwer very early on.

2- Not Bowling hafeez at all , even against left handed Yuvi and Dhawan

3- Playing an injured Wahab and wahab in general

4- Dropping two crucial catches

5- Getting nervous for final ten depsite bolwing great first ten

6- Not playing Junaid AND Playing Shahzad

7- Batting was just imploduing, no plan at all

8- MALIK Looking good but run out

9- Babar playing a positive shot just unlucky to not get it through.

10- Imad failing completely


I think if we did things differently we could have had a much closer game. Like hafeez was hitting fours and sizes like no tomorrow so why cant he do that tomorrow?

Also we could get in Harris Sohail as in WC 2015 he played a nice knock against India and seems genuinely skilled


What other lessons you think we learned? Or should have learned from the last game?

To be frank Pak should not look at that match at all not even for analysis, all it will do is seed the doubts of failure all over again. They should look at the SA and Eng matches and look for areas to improve on.

I disagree as they need to see the crunch areas where they went wrong. As it is so recent. These are current isssues.

I would agree with your approach more if it was a Pak ind game from months or years back

I understand if it was a bilateral but with a final its all in the mind. Pak knows how to beat a team and no point dwelling on the first match. They're not going to learn anything in a few days that they don't already know.

We need to rip open India's chest and tear out their beating heart. In other words, dismiss Kohli early.

Play Amir, Junaid, Hasan and Raees. Not a batsman on the face of this planet who can survive that pace battery.

One point you missed is virat kohli was given easy first 10 runs from spinners so when kohli come to the crease sarfi should used main fast bowler to try get him out cheaply otherwise he will hurt pakistan

Umm...why is no one alluding to the fact that Pakistan is a completely different team to what they played in the first game? Wahab Riaz single-handedly dismantled our bowling combination, wherein we either had to open the bowling with Imad Wasim or Hasan Ali. Imad under overcast conditions wouldnt have done much and Hasan Ali is a FOURTH change bowler right now for Pakistan. Also why is no one alluding to the fact that Shehzad is not opening the batting anymore with Azhar.

India will definitely have to change their gameplan, since the combination Pakistan put out will be entirely different to what India faced. Fakhar at the top gives India something to think about, so does an opening salvo from Amir and Junaid.

The team combination on Sunday completely negates the first group game. Oh yeah and did I mention Pakistan has beaten a better team than India in the semis? The only obstacle for Pakistan right now is the pressure and how well the boys handle it in a final.

The way India batted today at 7 Runs per over. I think Pakistan will have to bowl their hearts out

Raees is riksy option as hes not quick enough for flat phattas with no reverse

You have just summarized the match description lol These things will continue happening every match. Indian fielding was atrocious too. But Pakistan death bowling was horrendous. That is one thing they can improve upon.

Pakistan must play all of their fast bowlers for this match and not play a spinner in Shadab

I have read somewhere that Imad is used earlier on so he can rough up the ball for the reverse swing =.

Listen if every player does their bit pak will win etc make their share of runs,correct fielding,positive vibe,sticking to the roles given and capturing the moment say if we can get India to 150/3 capture the moment and keep them to 250
