Had India walked over SL in the group match, Indian team might have believed themselves to be invincible.

The loss to SL was therefore the best thing to have happened.

One can now be sure that the team won't be complacent when they face BD in the semis.

The batting looks solid and sublime as usual, the fielding and fitness of the players has been awesome and barring the SL match, the bowlers seem to be bowling in control as well.

India need not let its guard down now.

Didn't we go undefeated in CT 13, I find this invincible term annoying.

These are just excuses and quite lame.

Any decent team can win on the day.

I don't think any of the teams are taking each other lightly - just the fans hype their own teams and then come down to earth when expectations are not met.

I agree with OP. They also figured that we don't need 4 seamers and we need ashwin and can't rely just on jadeja. Also they realised that you need to be little bit more creative during first 40 overs. Overall I feel that loss was good for India.

What is your point? India is not doing well in this tournament? Is it not overall successful tournament so far?

We lost to SL because they had the right plans and the motivation to win that day. It has nothing to do with feeling invicible. If India has to deal with complacency issues tournament after tournament, I guess India has a bigger problem to deal with

Depends in the pitch on that day and opposition too. against SA Ashwin was needed

BD is CERTAINLY An Improved side.. shouldn't just dismiss them

Kohli and management are defn not underestimating any team, including Lanka , Lankans were determined to win against us and they did it,it's all about planning.

What do you mean what is my point ? Read exactly what I said and absorb it before getting defensive.

I didn't say it was not a successful tournament.

You could see that they underestimated Lankans that day. I was in the stadium, I could see how players were relaxing before or during the game. They could have easily scored 340. When they bowled, their body language suggested they were on autopilot mode until middle of that innings. Then they realized it's getting out of control and it was little too late.

I did. All I could get is we were giving excuses for the loss. When we are having a successful tournament, why do we have to come up excuses? Team getting complacent is something common in sports. Not only in cricket, it can happen in any sports. You are only implying that there is nothing called complacency in sports which is absurd to be honest.

No it's absurd the excuses some of the fans you come up with after a team loses a cricket match.

So I suppose it would be bad for India had they beaten Sri Lanka ?? They mighty have become complacent now in the semis ??

Ridiculous excuses. You lost against Sri Lanka because you got outplayed. They chased a big total very easily. Simple as that.

If you are good enough you win the next 2 matches on the day - if not you won't because you haven't played good enough cricket on the day and not because of complacency.

There someone who was there in the crowd has spoken

We both have different opinions, let's agree to disagree. I strongly believe that there is something called complacency in sports.

Agree.. like any other aspect in life.

You need to get your @$$ kicked once a while to be on top of your performance

Lol . Nothing great about a defeat.
You were outplayed on the day . Get over it .
No complacency or anything . The Srilankans outplayed you.
Also just as likely to lose to any of the other teams on any given day.
