I am loving this passion of this Pak side.

With the emergence of Shadab, Babar, Hasan etc and captaincy of Sarfi after a long time I am excited about Pak cricket.

Need to get rid of ttfs now!

It's a totally different team under an aggressive captain Sarfraz. It has the potential to win big tournaments if we get rid of the TTFs for good. I hope The Test team also gets rid of has beens misbahs and younis.

Completely agree.

The warriors are now battling matches out.

Led by the ofc by "the Green General."
:sarf
:babar :malik :imad :wahab :hasan

agreed!

once Hafeez, Shehzad, Akmal are (inevitably) dropped again, it'll be even better

Sarfraz is the best thing to have happened to Pak cricket in a long time. The way he was constantly bucking up Wahab and telling him where to bowl tells the difference between him and the brainless captains Misbah/azhar ali. Sarfraz has a great cricketing mind he will only get better.

Very exciting to watch. For a while I tuned in only to see Babar, Sharjeel, Amir and Hassan but I'm loving the way these guys are playing as a team under Sarfraz

Hafeez OUT!

Wenger OUT!

Akmals OUT!

Shehzad OUT!

Malik OUT!

Farkhar Zaman IN!

Hammad Azam IN!

Aamir Yamin IN!

Honestly pak needs to select their core players which are Imad, babar, hassanm shadab (although its still very young days for him) and sarfaraz. Now we have to make a team around these players. For how long are we going to keep these ttfs pathetic underperforming idiots in our team, We are on a high and its time to take it to next level by getting rid of these ttfs

The batting wasn't great today - the bowlers dug us out of a hole with both bat and ball !

However that was a great show of resolve and fighting spirit as Samuels looked to be taking the game away from us. Shadab shifted the momentum with that over.

Hasan Ali recovered himself his in the final over after conceding two boundaries and a wide.

This is also partly the PSL effect - you need youngsters exposed to pressure situations in these competitions against international standard players as it gives them invaluable experience when they step up to the national team.

Allegedly. He might come back in an year if not proven.
He was my favourite player but it seems highly unlikely that he will be back.PCB has in included another clause to the charge sheet which states that Sharjeel provoked some players to do match-fixing as well.

This Pakistan team has looked better than it has done at anytime in the last 5/6 years and that is DESPITE the TTFs. Imagine if we didn't have the TTFs.

Malik deserves his spot. Fakhar isn't good enough

Malik does not deserve it. For a guy who made his debut in 1999 I expect a hundred every game from him or I much rather invest in the future, Fakhar selection will ensure his development and is a much better and youthful option then the dead weight of akmal clan, shehzad, hafeez etc

Youngsters are turning it on

The torture of Misbah and his friends is nearly over.

Misbah has retired from T20 a while ago. Proves that he had nothing to do with selecting his 'friends'..it's all sifarish be because they are still being selected.

p.s I don't see any of you guys having a go at Sarfaraz for selection of TTF's. Hypocrites.

I'm not just talking about T20s.

You shouldn't even be expecting a 100 from Steven Smith every game...

Let the people who perform stay at least. Malik top scored today and last game, without his innings and Wahabs innings, the team would've been nowhere.

I think Chief rates Zeeshan Malik. Nauman Anwar as well who has lost it though.

I don't have faith in Ahsan Ali though.

Rafay as well but he needs an eye-catching knock or performance. Hope he takes his opportunities with Lahore and announces himself. On a true pitch, this guy is sublime. Wonderful balance.

Haters rather invest in TTF's then the future and complain of the fringe talents ineptness despite the fact that their development can only be elevated at the international level with opportunity

Haven't seen him bat unfortunately.

But I prefer left handers for elegance, Only right hander who could play sublime stylish shots was Imran Nazir.

But but but they always out perform all these young upcoming talented openers in domestic LOI, not their fault... Sharjeel made way for Kamran and co....

Their logic is something to behold, it's what happens when numbers are looked upon with no context or perspective; even if the said veteran criminals were performing well the argument still holds that the future must be groomed above short term gains

But not even in the top 4 run scorers.. thats the problem how can you not select a 25 year old TTF when he performed (not improved) (rotation was better though) in domestic..
The problem is to kick these TTFs out thw youngsters need to come up and outperform them...

I watched him in PSL as well seemed too shaky, ugly hoikcs no class at all

I'd take ugly, classless batsman over someone like Umar Akmal who looks classy but doesn't scores runs.

Fakhar wiped the floor with Akmal at the PSL. Fakhar has also been ruling the roost at domestics. There aren't any young domestic batsmen who have even come close to the numbers that Fakhar has been producing. If Fakhar is no good then we are in store for years of mediocrity.

Agreed.

But people have to realize this young energy also means young mistakes are going to be made.

Let's see if fans can stomach those.

I'm happy to take 2 year of losses if it means we have a solid world class unit for 10 years.

TTF have a very short shelf life of mediocre performances.

If you want to be number 8th team competing with Kenya for WC qualifiers than go ahead and have all your TTFs in there playing for next ten years BUT if you want to progress and be a world beater than you have to end this defeatist mentality and take risks. take the route that worked for us that is Grooming youngster with potential for next couple of years and get the dividends later that will reward us in the long run.

Sarfraz is a great captain - always proactive and brings a lot of energy to the side.

To early to go on about newly found passion and all. The whooping Aussies and NZ gave us a few months back can not be forgotten that easily. It is much easier to play well when conditions are more favourable like they are in the Caribbean against a much lesser side.

Finally! Need to get rid of him from the Test team as well.

He probably would have retired after the West Indies series but now rumors of series against India in Uae might remove any chance of that. At the same time he has been our best or 2nd best performer in tests for the last 5 years so I don't get the hate against him but I do think he should retire after we hopefully win this series. He has already established himself as one of the best if not the best captain in Tests for Pakistan.
He should retire as gracefully as he has captained Pakistan. I hope PCB decides to make Sarfaraz the test captain as I don't think we can survive the politics of 2 captains.

I read absolutely nothing in to this performance. West Indies are a joke in bilaterals.

thread isnt about the performance but the behaviour...

This.

Frankly win or lose is secondary to me as long as you keep fighting and give it your all. Play with passion and aggression and keep the fans glued/attached to the game. This is why we watch cricket not snooker although we had world champions in snooker too. Snooker is boring to watch.

Cricket is a team game and obviously 1 team has to win and it will always not be Pakistan. So defeats will come. I like the passion and energy with which the guys played despite the ttfs who looked so misfit in the team.

Yes that pretty much sums up fan analysis. Back slapping players leads to winning

Not back slapping the way 18 year olf was replying to aggresive samuels was something to watcch.. its not about winning but showing that you are here to take charge...

It is all about winning. And we have won two matches after rubbish batting against a batting order worse than ours. The chest thumping is severely premature

Didn't watch the match, looking at scorecard seems like we barely made 132 with everyone failing.

Let's stop this minnow mentality. Such scores won't save us against decent teams. :danish

Thanks to Shadab for saving us again!!

Passion cant be seen on cricinfo scorecards.

wish sharjeel and khalid hadnt done that stupidity :(
sharju and khalid inplace of shezzy and kami would make hugeeeeeeeeeeeee difference

Youth carrying the team forward which is good to see.

The last of the tried and tested brigade almost done and once they have gone , the team will move further forward.

132 was actually an above PAR score for the first innings yesterday. You dont need to score between 150-200 every game. Lets give the team some credit, especially coming back from 92-8 at one stage and then the way we bowled to restrict the big hitters in the windies team

Who is Rafay ?
A quality top order batsman. He's a stroke maker unlike the duds we're producing right now.

Unfortunately he barely gets a run in domestic teams which may largely have to do with the fact that he is Ahmadi.

The current T20I side looks quite competitive. Openers are still an issue as I don't have much faith in the current two.

If only Sharjeel was still around and you would have a team to challenge the best.

yep Sharjeel is a big loss. No one in Pakistan comes close to Sharjeel when it comes to natural ability hitting good bowlers and scoring 50s for fun in no time.
