I think people are slightly misinformed. Mayweather wanted random testing, which could mean being tested fight week. He never said he defo wants a blood test during fight week, he said make it random and if USADA wanted they could test anyone at any time.

Team pacquiao wanted initially a 30 day cutoff period (so no testing during the final 30 days) and then a 14 day cutoff. Which I think we can both agree is BS. Random means random.

Gutted that Manny lost but Floyd was the better fighter tonight. Floyd was the most gracious I've ever seen him in giving credit to Manny.

No version of Pacquiao ever beats Mayweather, that's the truth and his fans have to accept it.

Appreciate greatness when you have it, because we'll never see another fighter as great as him.
 
That was fun to watch, in boxing I only watch Amir Khan fights, this was the first Mayweather or Pacquiao fight that I ever watched.

Entertaining stuff and twitter was live during the fight lol

He has one fight left on his contract and there is not anyone in the sport of boxing right now that he can't out-smart and out-point. Khan is the only one remaining and I'd find it hard to call him a challenge for Floyd even on his last legs.

Well done mayweather a masterclass of boxing, perfect defence, jabbed pacman litterally to death. The key to fight was over last 3 years mayweather has fought better opponents compared to Manny and all this talk of manny revival was just hot air, fighting people like algeri was never going to get manny ready for a beast like floyd, mayweather will retire 49-0 like he deserves.
 
Khan will hopefully trouble him more than Pacman, should the fight come to fruition. With ramadan set to be in late June, it'll be tough for Amir Khan.

So I started following boxing on and off since 2009 and have to say Mayweather is still at almost the same level now as he was back then whereas Pacquiao has considerably declined. Is it due to his dependence on speed and reflexes and that they have gone down wth age?

Manny was supposed to be the hero; the villain won though. I would say Pacman still beats Khan so that gives you an idea on how much of a chance I give Amir against May.

He still wouldn't have beaten Floyd. Why, well while you may think Floyd hasn't lost a lot of his speed and reflexes, he actually has. He's slower than he's ever been and gets hit more often than ever, bizarre as it sounds. But that's the greatness of the man, he's still at that pinnacle and there's no one that can stop him from retiring on his perch.

Pacman may have been faster back then but Floyd was also a lot sharper. In fact, I would've expected the fight to play out exactly like it did tonight.
 
The best part is that Manny fanboys and casual people who tuned in are blaming Mayweather for making the fight boring. Really? Your fighter has been blabbering on for 6-7 years that he has the blueprint to beat Mayweather that May can't handle his volume punching and pressure.

Well, what changed? This was the same Mayweather. He adapted. He prepared specifically for Pacman and implenented his gameplan perfectly on fight night. Where was Pacman's famed pressure? Every time he won a round, he lost the next with embarrassing ease. Pacman was scared of Floyd's power believe it or not. He got hit a couple of times, hard, and he didn't want to pressure and faceplant in front of the world otherwise he would've brawled like Maidana did.

No version of Pacman beats Mayweather because there is a reach advantage and May's too intelligent. Manny will always be the People's Champion and a better human-being than Floyd but when the history books are written, the latter will always be regarded as the most gifted and skilled fighter of his generation and the best defensive boxer of all time.

No, the reason is he doesn't want to take any risk regarding his streak and title. This is the only BS thing I don't like about MMA/Boxing. You can agree or disagree to fight anyone. There is no real No.1 Contender :sanga

Yeah, that's why he took a fight against a guy who was a horrible stylistic match-up for him. I really hope Floyd gives Amir a pay-day to remember or else he won't ever shut up. No amount of speed and a dodgy chin can beat pure skill and in-ring intelligence.

Disagree on you comparing MMA with boxing. In MMA, because there isn't a huge talent pool, it's nigh on impossible to duck a fighter for more than a year. The biggest case of ducking that we've had in the sport was Jones refusing to give Gus a rematch but even he had to give in after 6 months.

I'm with Floyed schooling Amir. I know he will unless Amir amps up his game. But why ignoring him for all these years, he was afraid to face him when Amir was in his prime. I won't be surprised if he agrees to face him in the upcoming years

So apparently Manny couldn't implement his gameplan because of a shoulder injury. So much for being gracious in defeat. Loved how May shot that excuse down. :)))
 
I think it was a fair result. Manny just couldn't hit him. Mayweather connected with more punches and although Manny provided more excitement if you don't hit the guy you won't get points. Floyd was very good at tying up Pacman whenever he got in range. I think the Manny of 5 years ago would have done better but he just didn't move his feet enough, attacked in a straight line and just couldn't pin Floyd down. Power punchers always suffer more with age than defensive fighters I think.

So Amir is out of his prime already? :))) Get real, he himself admits he's better and more disciplined than he's ever been. He's also on the best streak of his career. If May fought a reckless Khan 2 years ago, he would've knocked him silly..now he's just going to coast to a decision.

believe me, if Floyd sees AK as a 50% threat. He won't agree to give him the title shot.

I hope Amir calls him out for a non title shot if Floyd keeps ignoring him. That way Floyd will be owned with a single punch :yk2

Sums up my feelings. It's good floyd never faced manny 5 years ago for his sake now watch his fans glorify his mastery over faded fighters :))) It was a good performance from him but all i could think of is how overated he is in terms of entertainment and his worth, you dont deserve 200mill for producing snooze fests. He dominated almost every round without doing any damage manny never had a scratch on his face, key to his fights = running and clinching. What an ATG :bow:
 
No one would bet against floyd beating amir but to think he wont avoid him is retarded, why take a chance against the fastest hands in boxing. You want to keep that 0. Besides floyd finds a way to nullify ur strength but stylistically amir is an awkward opponent.

Tbf this 0 business is overstated immensely...yesterday is evidence...the fact is Floyd will take the fight that pays the most...hes not worried about his 0 cos he is just that good...and someone like Amir is not gonna worry him one iota...the discussion about Amir is about whether he is the most financially lucrative option for Floyd...

These comments are bizarre...

What were you expecting?...to make the fight more exciting would be to make the fight easier for Manny...the objective is to win...and Floyd did that comfortably...i actually enjoyed the fight...i like watching defensive fighters...i enjoyed watching him control the distance...move out of range when necessary...and generally leave Manny looking clueless...

We got what we expected from Floyd...the point of this fight was to see if Manny with his supposed weird angles would penetrate Floyds defence and he did nothing of the sort...

Dominance is what makes someone an ATG not blood and guts...

And 5 years ago this would have been the same result...I said back then that Manny cant deal with fighters that move well and he showed that again...

Amir is an average boxer at best , he will be knocked out by floyd even though floyd hasn't knocked out anyone in the recent past.Instead of hyping him we should accept the reality and give the credit where its due.
Floyd is and undisputed champion of the present era and no one comes even closer to him in the terms of hardwork , commitment and submission to the sport of boxing.

Ive asked this before but who has Floyd not fought...and show me how the alternative that Floyd took was not a financial or promotional decision (ie Bob)...

And as said its hilarious that youre taking a moral stance against Floyd when you big up Tyson :)...just be honest...you disliked him before he beat women...so stop making that an issue...
