Manoj Tiwary's tweet after our victory over pakistan. Not a great fan of his batting but even i felt sad after seeing his tweet. :(

Tiwary is the best indian fielder who is betetr than raina , kohli and jaddu.
His tweet shows how our youngsters are frustrated bcoz of lack of chances ( which is blocked by our age old seniors ). In his last match he scored a century and then warming the bench for more than 3 months.

Its sad, but i cant understand why he cant get the odd game here and there

he is second or third in line for our ODI batting slot after Rohit and yusuf pathan ..
when some players got rest , Rohit use to get a chance and he will be warming the bench..

anyway i guess when sachin retires he might get a chance to play :)

He'll be getting another chance soon. Sachin is almost sure not to play the next JAMODIs.

We'll take Tiwari if you dont want him; we'll even make him our captain

tiwari should marry a pakistani women and become pakistan and come to our team

I guess eventually Sachin will have to realize that their are other people that want chances. So since hes played for over 20 years he should drop one or two matches and let the youngsta play a game or two. If hes really serious about India's future that is.

didnt he like score a 100 vs windies in his last game? lol even then he was saying he has played 6 matches in 5 tournaments.

i read some statement "manoj tiwary is warming the bench for so long, its on fire"!!! :)))

The thing is, Sachin in his end years now is still a much better batsman than probably any Indian youngster out there (except for perhaps Kohli)

Sachin is an opener but the main problem is that India have too many good middle order players and when Yuvraj returns only one of the three players Raina , Rohit and Tiwary will going to play , it is really frustating for manoj or Rohit as they can walk into any ODI team apart from Australia , even S.Africa middle order is weak with only two good players Kallis and ABD

It is going to be tough for him. Yuvraj will return, so will Sehwag , and then Sachin will play another 5 years untill he is on wheel chair.

May be he needs to play couple of Kohli like innings to make his place cemented.

That's the only way other than waiting for your chance. Even Kohli was uncertain, but he earned and cemented his place ahead of Sharma.

sad for him.he made a brilliant ton in his last game only.

I dont know why :sachin hasnt retired from ODIs yet.hes got the damn hundred.but still blocking the way of a youngster

He'd most probably be given a full run in the T20 WC.

He shouldn't be losing heart though.. the likes of Ganguly,Dravid were passengers too before they got their lucky breaks into the team and grabbed the chance with both hands.

Tendulkar better retire before Yuvraj comes back into the team !

Sachin ain't playing to score hundreds..he is playing bcos he loves to play for India and he has the same passion when he first came.. the way he maintains himself even at this age is a tribute to that

he can play tests.I have no qualms with that

but its obvious hes not going to play 2015 WC so why not let a youngster who will

Don't know why people are after Sachin to retire! This is professional cricket, not some charity event where people give away stuff!
Tell me this, would you retire from your company when you're 50 years old when there is a 22 year old young, energetic, enthusiastic, eager to learn person waiting to apply for a job? No, you will say, if my company thinks I'm not good enough to do the job that I'm hired to do then they'll either let me go or if I feel I'm not capable of doing high quality things the way I am used to doing then I'll retire myself.
Now apply it to Sachin and you'll get your answer.
A spot in a national team is not a "khairaat".

Really sucks to be sitting out after scoring a hundred in the last outing.

How much did he get in the ipl? Jadeja got 3 million so he should play

comparing sport with a job is never a good idea.

its obvious selectors dont hv guts to tell him to go,but that doesnt mean he shouldnt.if a youngster is as capable then he should play.

But how is he better? How do we know if those youngsters are better or worse ,Without even trying them? Sachin is a great player no doubt. But I think him skipping few games for other youngsters, So he could extend his career is the best way to go. He needs to help groom players and try to make India's future better. Rather then play every game and block chances for new players.

I think I can kinda agree with that. But what they can do is maybe switch out Sharma for Manoj or Raina for Manoj. Like try to fit a right combination where the main youngsters are getting a chance for experience. But I do agree on the middle order talent you guys in India have. It seems as though theirs allot of competition out there for batsmen. Some good players will have to sit out for other good players. But in the end I hope everything works out.

Tbh sachin looked one of the best players during that aus test series. He should quit limited overs though

Considering India's unparalleled and devastating bowling skills, we need to have 4 specialist bowlers at least. Since there are hardly any good allrounders, it means 7 batting slots, more or less:

tendulkar,sehwag,gambhir,kohli,rohit sharma, raina, dhoni.

And once Yuvi is back then? And then Manoj T, Jadeja and likes.

^ That looks like our line up for the 2015 WC (minus Tendulkar i reasonably assume).. if Tiwary is better with handling the short stuff - he could push Raina out.

I.Pathan after Dhoni and our batting is set. Will need to work on the bowling.

gambhir, sehwag, kohli, tendu - top order

Followed by dhoni, raina, jadeja/pathan/sharma and then comes the bowler. TBH, i think he really has not place in the side. India will have good batsman but what they really need is a allrounder like hafeez, sakib or even kallis.....or even a good bowler

he needs to try bowling well in domestics, when he plays for KKR he wil have narine, sakib, and locals like abdullah to help him

I dont think he can ever get into the team as a sole batsman and fielder

Agreed. I wonder if Tiwary can handle the short stuff. Our patta pitches in Ranji, give no indication of a player's ability to handle short stuff. Also i think Irfan Pathan and Ashwin, and to an extent Yuvi are the only players who can bat and bowl decently

But he needs 50th ODI hundreds. That is his destiny. He is on 49. Plus he is averaging more than any opener (Shewag and GG) in last few games. If anyone needs to be replaced I think it would be GG or Shewag if you have to replace an opener.

Agreed seems tough, and remember you have not considered Yuvi yet in that list.

Tendulkar is very unlikely to play in ODIs and I feel Manoj should take the place of Rohit Sharma. Sharma is seriously crap.

Yuvi can take the place of Jadeja.

Manoj Tiwary - The Bowler?

If you dont let me play as Batsman , i will become a bowler :D,
Great job Manoj for ur 4 wickets

His last game he got his highest ever list-a/odi score. This game he's got his best list-a/odi figures.

he is not super talented but guy can definitely give his 100 percent..and be a give subcontinent bully but will suck in australia etc
rahane,pujara are much better players

having tiwary in the team gives lots of choices for the batsmen..

none of our part timers are leg-spin bowlers except tiwary ( sachin is not considered )
tiwary is our best fielder

can't come to a conclusion when he hasn't played there even once!!

One-time India batsman Manoj Tiwary has clarified that he has been misquoted relating to a comment on MS Dhoni‘s future as reported by various media outlets in India this week. Tiwary had, allegedly, stated in an interview that ‘the Indian team isn’t anyone’s personal property’ on being about the Indian skipper.

When contacted by CricketCountry on August 22, Tiwary said that this was not true and he has been misquoted. The Bengal captain had earlier in the day taken to twitter to cryptically suggest the same.

It was reported on Thursday that Tiwary, who has played 12 ODIs for India, had said that the BCCI needs to take a call on Dhoni’s future.

“Dhoni has done a lot for our country. He has made a lot of contributions to this team. Recently, Sachin Tendulkar said that it’s time for Dhoni to side-line himself, he has played a lot. Though Virat Kohli has said that the team needs Dhoni, I feel that the selectors need to take a tough call. It’s time to show courage, and it’s necessary to take the step.

I’m not sure if the selectors are giving Dhoni chances based on the past. There are a number of talented cricketers in our country, and they should get chances. The Indian team isn’t anyone’s personal property. It’s a team of the nation, and that needs to be kept in mind”.

The interview was attributed to the Bengali edition of the Indian Express which Tiwary did not deny had taken place, but maintained that he had been misquoted during the course of it.

Tiwary, 33, is known to be very vocal on social media and has been critical of various decisions by BCCI selectors at the domestic level.
