Here is the Official Trailer:

The first season will be released in its entirety on April the 10th.

It looks really good. Very dark and intricate. Has the potential to be the best super hero TV series ever made.

leatherface58 check it out

i doubt it can match the arrow

Arrow is one my favourite shows at moment but they have so much filler content in between all the stuff that is absolutely fantastic, this series looks to be more serious and high end so expect nothing but quality. The Netflix series House of Cards has been really good, So I have hope.

Early impressions? Watsupdoc

Might watch it for D'Onofrio who was mindblowing in Full Metal Jacket and pretty much everything he has done.

Considering it's Netflix, hopefully, it will be R-Rated with strong violence. Nice dig at the Avengers towards the end.

He will be playing the king-pin as well, it's bound to be an awesome combination :))

It's going to be rated TV-MA, is that the highest they can go in terms of TV rating when it comes to violence etc

I think it is but not sure

Am not a big Marvel fan and so personally am not very excited about Daredevil. Although, the trailer does suggest that it is going to be a quality show.

Hearing the term TV-MA is music to my ears.

I am more excited about The Evil Dead series.

I am more excited about The Evil Dead series.

Did a quick search, TV-MA: "This program is specifically designed to be viewed by adults and therefore may be unsuitable for children under 17"

Looking forward to that to, in need of a pure classic horror series. Not really been fond off the stuff that is out there in the horror genre, nothing screams "watch me". I watched the first season of American Horror Story though, it was good.

Daredevil is a bit of an anti-marvel Character, he's more like a DC character quiet dark for a marvel superhero. Yeah hopefully it is, I think it has the potential to be the show which Arrow should be.

omg omg omg omg omg!!!!!

Yaaaaaaaaay

Arrow is good, I don't think Daredevil is going to match that level of quality.

The thing is, I really love Arrow but don't you think they have too much filler content? Like after the mid season finale which was the best episode I have ever watched of tv btw they kind of went into their shell and the pace slowed down. I guess it's not a high end show if that makes sense and the important thing is they know their identity, for example you have Breaking Bad, True Detective, The Wire etc in top tier of TV series then you have the likes of LOST and Suits etc.

Am not belittling Arrow in that sense am just saying their identity is that of a series which is a notch below the top tier stuff (that's where the filler stuff comes from) and that's reflected in a narrative where the relative themes are emphasised but not with so much depth and the same can be said for the character development.

Going by the trailer, there is potential for Daredevil to be a top tier series and that would be a first for a comic book character.

It wasn't filler stuff in my opinion. It was more the black canary arc, where the writers were trying to get develop Laurel's character, who is an important character in the show.

I personally they timed it well, as Oliver was injured, so Laurel could get more screen time.

The latest episode of Arrow though has set the bar really high and I think we are going to be in for a hell of a ride for the back-end of the season.

As for Suits, I personally rate it lower than Arrow, especially the last season, it has been very ordinary.

I guess you could say that but generally there has been filler content in all the seasons imo, you also get flash backs at times that are meaningless and add very little to the show. They were trying to develop canary which was good but again it lacked the depth of a top tier show now that isn't bad thing given Arrows identity as a TV series. Also you have all these mini B or C plots brewing when the main storyline takes a bit of a break, you could say the B/C plots are interconnected to the main feud involving Olly and Rahs Ul ghul in the grand scheme of things if you look at it a bit deep but again they lack depth.

With the whole Laurel thing, they never really had to build her so much it was all about her wearing the suit. Her character change came when her sister died and since then she went from that girl who is always bitter and moaning about stuff to wanting to get out there and fight, they maintained that theme after the mid season.

I don't remember what happened now lol have any episodes released after the one where Olly went to rescue Malcolm ? haven't watched it in a while, I think they are gone on another break? :)) Yeah the stuff after the mid-season tends to be the best.

The most recent season has not been that good in comparison to the stuff they did before but I guess they had to because Mike had been working with Harvey for so long, but it's a similar show to Arrow in the band of a Mid-Tier when you look at them overall. Neither belong in the Top tier with the likes of GOT, Breaking Bad and Sherlock

That's true Sherlock is better than either Arrow or Flash. Yea the last episode was where Raz asked Olly to become Rash al gul.

With Laurel they wanted her to slowly transit into the black canary, although I think they could do a better job with Laurel. You are right she is very annoying at the moment :))

Netflix has done very good work with its production.

Wouldn't expect anything less here.

It would be awesome if he accepted it :)) I wonder where the show would go from there, highly unlikely though expect them to fight again.

They could have done, instead I just see her as someone that's crying all the time. Feel like jumping into my laptop screen and giving her a spear :))

Indeed, just need quality writing and they'll have one hell of a series. The source material will be based on a comic by frank miller so have high expectations

Hows arrow? Been thinking about starting that show.

Hows arrow? Been thinking about starting that show.

You should defo give it a watch, it's the best tv series out there as far as a comic book character is concerned. If you're into the top tier stuff don't expect so much but they do a good job nevertheless, the main thing is the show has an identity unlike Gotham.

habibi hayya the format/Episodic Style of Arrow is similar to Smallvile if you've watched that

The developer of this show is Steven deKnight who made that masterpiece, Spartacus.

Should be exciting. :afridi

Arrow sometimes loses its touch when they go fast forward

Right now I prefer Flash more, it's been really good

Sent from my Nokia_XL using Tapatalk

Really? Flash is good, but I don't like the fact that they brought in Gorilla Grood

I like Arrow more at the moment, just because of the way the story is progressing.

I think he is going to seriously contemplate and think about the offer, although I don't think he is going to accept in the end.

Nah. Dare Devil is a boring guy. Will give this one a miss.

The series has been released today on Netflix, so far the reviews have been positive.

Will give my thoughts after I watched the first episode.

I sent this guy an entire seasons worth of spoilers for Black Sails, was an accident :yk **Insert HHH giff with shovel***

fun fact: did yall know the same ooze that blinds daredevil is the same ooze that mutates the teenage mutant ninja turtles and splinter.

Pilot Review
8/10

Didn't see The Kingpin although we heard him on the phone. The fight scenes are good. Violent and gritty without overkill. No unnecessary swearing in the name of a darker and edgier show. I liked the dynamic between Foggy and Matt. Understated humour without buffoonery. Also liked Bob Gunton(Warden Norton!) from Shawshank as the snarky Owlsley.

Overall, a good start but the story should pick up from the next episode.

On topic, I'm actually not a big fan of super-hero shows. I didn't really like Arrow either, but if this is going to be more "adult" and it will be considering the rating and the fact that Netflix is producing it, then I might give this a shot. I'm going to be in this thread searching for reviews. If they're positive then I'll watch an epi or two.

There's also the fact that I absolutely know nothing about Daredevil as a character beforehand. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Spartacus failed, only 3 seasons :mv

Dude you obviously are one of those fair weather fans. How in the world did Spartacus fail? It was terrific short series and ended it without dragging it on and on like what The Walking Dead is doing for profits.

But still, three seasons only. Please at least 5

on episode 9 at the moment... This is Daredevil done right.. bravo Netflix and marvel.. its ugly, its brutal and its raw...

None of the cheesiness of comic book super hero shows.

so whats the verdict?

worth watching for someone who isnt into superhero shows/movies?

its not a super hero show.. its a crime drama.. i would say the answer is a resounding yes but everybody has their own taste.

Brilliant fight scene in the 2nd episode. All done in a single take. Brutal, messy and ultimately tense.

That doesn't really matter :)) He's probably the most unconventional comic book character from the Marvel Universe given his dark and gritty nature. The show has been fantastic, it's not your typical goofy super hero series nor anything like Arrow which is great in bursts. It's a very realistic Crime Thriller having watched the first two episodes. The tone of the series is very gloomy and intense with a focus on salvation and sin with the usual evils which plague hell's kitchen (name of the city), Poverty, crime and drugs.

Also, Daredevils superpowers have not been exaggerated you'd think he doesn't really have any and many a time his opponents get in quiet a bit of offence on him. This adds more realism during the fight sequences making him more of a vigilante assassin in a way, there is a little focus at times in short moments on his four senses which have been been elevated after losing his eye sight during fights. The choreography of the action has been great and production top notch, defo worth a watch bruv.

Definitely, loved that spinning drop kick to the guy on the ground at the end :)) that was beautiful.

The guy that plays foggy is a fantastic actor, loved that scene between him and karen when they went for drinks.

:))) I screamed at that scene like a fangurrrrl.

Same

:)))

It had me on the edge of my seat, every time he was hit I was expecting Murdock to get taken out (But you know what Murdocks are like they get back up lmao) especially because of the numbers game. It was like something out of a Jackie Chan/Bruce Lee film

I found it a little bit boring having watched the 1st 2 episodes. I am hoping it picks up. Much rather prefer Arrow, Flash and Gotham.

Wilson Fisk is turning out to be quite a deranged villain.. right up there in tv show land villian ranks with Hannibal Lectar, i am going to suggest.

The way he took out the Russian mob boss's head with his car door.. hoy crap, that was ugly and bloody!

lol

lol

I've watched up until the 3rd episode, the build to frisk's villain was very good. Really put him over as a deranged menace
given how his employee killed himself after giving up the king pins name to murdock

Try and use Spoilers bruv :)) I know it can be hard given how this series has been released for binge watching

Reached episode 3. Beastly stuff indeed.

And yep it's comfortably darker and bloodier than any superhero show on telly today.

Props to Netflix for some quality programming. They even give chances to cancelled shows like arrested development and the killing. Wish they had come sooner. Could have renewed firefly too.

I was watching one of the scenes while gasping thinking leathers must be enjoying this :))) wait until you get to episode 4 lol

Yeah, it has sough of exceeded my expectations. I expected it to be dark and gritty but not this bloody.

I am almost done... binge watched the whole thing.. on episode 12 right now. Lol

They better release season 2 before the end of the year. This is going to be a major hit I reckon.

The first season was fantastic. Fisk is a dark and complex character, with subtleties we can all relate to. At times, he hardly seems like a villain, and I find myself empathizing with him. He is just a troubled person attempting to make sense of his cruel life. The only criticism I have is the fighting scenes; it seems like everyone in Hell's Kitchen is a ninja, even old women that can barely walk.

its gangsters man. Of course they know how to fight. The chinese old lady of course will know kung fu because she is from china and she is a gangsta! lol

The japanese yakuza will of course be a ninja.. Apart from those two, they showed realism in how the accountant is a weasel and acts like a hyena, doesnt know how to fight but knows how to get his way through other means. Wilson Fisk is just a big ol bruiser who can punch through walls but I dont think apart from his size he has any other fighting skill or ability.

What I liked was how Matt doesn't just run through his enemies without breaking a sweat like say Batman. He got more bruises, cuts and injuries on his body in the first season than people probably get in ten life times. They showed him as a mere mortal who can be killed, who has his weaknesses and flaws despite his extra ordinary abilities.

So I would say it is far more realistic (if you want to call it that) than some other comic book based movies and TV shows.

Fisk to me was an equal star of the show. Loved Donofrio's take on the character. His barely holding back gnarling speech and chewing out every syllable while speaking through clenched jaws was just how Fisk from the comic books is portrayed.

Mamoon you're writing a book about a blind guy right? check this show out, you might like it

Guys - Please don't share illegal links to TV shows/movies etc

Just incredible, finished watching the series and all I got to say is it not only lived up to my expectations it exceeded them. This series will be pivotal in the future of a Marvel/DC basedTV show, it has redefined the genre when it comes to comic book characters and I never thought I'd say that after watching TDK and although the concept in terms of the dark/gritty take on the characters is the same, DareDevil has taken it to another level especially with how bloody it was.

I didn't like the DareDevil costume though, hopefully they improve on it. The one which Ben Affleck wore was so much better. Anyhow I miss the Black Mask, that was totally bad-asss.

Best TV series ever based on a comic book character. Leagues ahead of Arrow, Flash and Smallvile.

Overall I'd give the season 9/10

Have to say the portrayal of Karen Page has been so refreshing! what a star and excellent job by the writing team, they went against the grain to develop her as far as her female is concerned and that scene where she was in trouble, who'd have expected that? I've just loved her journey on the show

about to watch my first episode

better be worth it

There are 13 episodes in the season, if anyone else quotes you in this thread until then don't look at their posts :))) am the only one who avoids spoilers.

Finally finished it.

Dayum!!! Amazing show. Vinnie D better snag an Emmy nod for this riveting portrayal.

Brilliant stuff. DeKnight is 2/2 as far as showrunning is concerned.

So how come they habe released every episode simultaneously as opposed to a weekly episode?

Series produced by Netflix tend to be released in their entirety for binge watching, they did the same for House of Cards to.
