"PTI recruited keyboard warriors on government’s expenditure," claims PML-N stalwart

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz on Sunday said that she is not interested in becoming the prime minister or the chief minister after the upcoming general elections in the country.

During an informal interaction with journalists, she categorically said, “My focus is not on the slot of prime minister or chief minister.”

The PMLN stalwart also said for now, Junaid — her son — had also no intention of joining politics. “Junaid has to take the responsibility for his home first,” she said on a lighter note.

Junaid Safdar, a Cambridge graduate, has two Master’s and two Bachelor’s degrees from UK universities. A polo enthusiast got married in London in August 2021 and celebrated a grand valima ceremony in December in Lahore. She said that the nation is enduring the consequences of the incompetence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) ineligible government led by Imran Khan.

Maryam disowns PML-N govt over mini-budget

A day after the PML-N-led federal government presented a mini-budget imposing more taxes and hiked the price of petrol, the party’s chief organiser, Maryam Nawaz, distanced herself not only from the “unpopular” moves but also from the government.

Talking to party workers and leaders in Model Town, she said, “This coalition government of nine parties is not our government. Our government will be that of Nawaz Sharif.”

Apparently, her remarks were aimed to pacify the party’s voters after the government imposed new taxes worth Rs170bn in an attempt to unlock the deal with the International Monetary Fund.

She also said the PML-N-led coalition government got “real” power after the retirement of former army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa in November last year. “Before November, someone else was running the government,” she had said in a media talk in Bahawalpur.

In January, Ms Sharif was appointed the party’s chief organiser by the PML-N leadership.

She was tasked with “reorganising the party” and rejuvenating the voters at a time when a worsening economic crisis has forced the government to make unpopular choices, resulting in a steep rise in inflation.

Since her return to Pakistan from London last month, Ms Sharif has been addressing rallies and meeting party workers across Punjab to build some momentum before the general elections in October.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice president Fawad Chaudhry has asserted that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief organiser Maryam Nawaz was running a campaign against judiciary for ‘personal gains’, ARY News reported on Sunday.

Talking to journalists in Lahore, the former information minister said that the media cell of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Maryam Nawaz was running an anti-judiciary campaign to get desire results.

“The purpose of the anti-judiciary campaign is to take the judiciary to a defensive position”, Fawad Chaudhry said, adding that if the judiciary gives judgement against them, their cases will be restored and the purpose of regime change would fail.

Unmute
Speaking of the elections, the former minister said that as per the Constitution, elections should be held within 90 days of dissolution of assemblies, adding that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was ‘running away’ from elections.

“They [the incumbent rulers] are running a systematic campaign to impose martial law in the country,” he claimed, adding that economic stability only possible through political instability.

Earlier in February, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice president Maryam Nawaz criticised the judiciary, claiming that it was ‘facilitating some quarters’ of the country.

Talking to journalists, the PML-N chief organiser said that questions were being raised on judiciary’s role as it was ‘facilitating some quarters’ of the country.

In response to a question, Maryam Nawaz said that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif will soon arrive in Pakistan for the forthcoming elections, adding that the cases against the former prime minister will also end soon.

She expressed anger with party over Nawaz Sharif’s issue, saying that the incumbent government did nothing for PML-N supremo and noted that legislation should have been carried out in this regard.

“Bogus cases were made against Nawaz Sharif and me,” she said, adding that even PTI’s Shah Mehmood Qureshi admitted the ‘injustice’ with her father.

She pointed out that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was the only prime minister in country’s history who was ousted through no confidence motion.

In light of a leaked audio clip which purportedly featured a conversation between former chief minister Parvez Elahi and a Sup*reme Court judge, PML-N chief organiser Maryam Nawaz on Sunday asked for accountability in the judiciary and said Pakistan needed “honest jud*ges” instead of the ones who allegedly favoured Imran Khan.

Addressing a workers convention in Rawalpindi, the PML-N senior vice president said that judges named in the audio leak should have “moral courage” to resign from their post.

Ms Nawaz said the entire judiciary was not lopsided but there were only some judges in the judiciary who were allegedly biased. “Imran Khan is looking to get support from the judiciary to come back to power after failing to get support from the establishment,” she alleged.

She claimed there were some followers of former spymaster retired General Faiz Hameed in the judiciary and they needed to be held “accountable”.

PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz, in a fiery speech on Thursday, came down hard on a “cabal of five”, among which were former and serving members of the judiciary, whom she accused of “conspiring” against PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.

Addressing a workers’ convention in Sargodha, Maryam — who is currently on a reorganisation tour to shape her party’s narrative — said: “Ever since this watch thief left the government, our ears are tired of hearing ‘there was a conspiracy, there was a conspiracy’.”

This is all a game. The judges are owned by the mafia and will look for any avenue to serve their mafia masters. Remember the "abuse" that Bajwa received from Nani, the Bhagora and Ayaz Sadiq, but we all know now, that it was a game and the beghaairat Bajwa was in on it. The irony is that the abuse from the witch was a game but the abuse today that crooked Bajwa receives is real. PK needs to cleanse itself of the Generals and this mafia appointed Judiciary. I hope IK gets a 2/3rd majority and scraps this SC and appoints people that will genuinely hold him and all powerful people to account.

PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Monday said elections will take place only after the “wrongful punishments” awarded to party supremo Nawaz Sharif were struck off and PTI Chairman Imran Khan was “brought to justice”.

Addressing a workers’ convention in Sahiwal, she said: “Elections will definitely happen, but first there will be recompense for the injustices against Nawaz Sharif.

“Election will definitely be conducted [but only] when the wrong sentences against the innocent Nawaz Sharif are reversed and … Imran is brought to justice. Election will take place when the Panama bench that ‘bestowed’ Nawaz with words and titles such as ‘godfather’ and ‘Sicilian mafia’ are taken back.”

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a petition in Supreme Court (SC) challenging the acquittal of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz in NAB corruption cases, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

The petition was filed by PTI Secretary-General Azam Swati.

In the petition, the PTI urged the court to declare the acquittal of Shehbaz Sharif in money laundering and Maryam Nawaz in Avenfield case null and void.

Sukkur court summons Maryam Nawaz in contempt case
Petition filed by PTI Sukkur District President over her “scandalous remarks” against judges of the SC

The Sukkur district and sessions court on Wednesday summoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz in a contempt case filed over her “scandalous remarks” against judges of the Supreme Court.

Additional Sessions Judge Mumtaz Solangi directed Maryam Nawaz to appear before the court on March 10. He also summoned Sukkur senior superintendent of police and the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) officers.

The notice was issued on a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sukkur District President Zaheer Babar, who accused the senior PML-N leader of defaming the institutions in her address to the party workers in Sargodha last week.

Addressing a PML-N workers' convention, the PML-N chief organiser had expressed reservations over some of the judges on the top court’s nine-member bench, formed to take up the suo motu notice regarding delay in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa polls.

Lashing out at former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan following party leader Fawad Chaudhry's "truck" remarks, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday said that they will "puncture" all four tyres of the truck.

In the alleged conversation between Fawad and his brother Faisal Chaudhry, the names of three judges - Chief Justice Lahore High Court Muhammad Ameer Bhatti, Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial and Supreme Court judge Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi come up.

"The CJ Lahore is asking for a general [meeting] with Bandial to be arranged," a voice allegedly of Fawad is heard saying which is affirmed by another voice purportedly of Faisal in the phone call.

"Also, meet Mazahir through Mr Dar and tell him that a loaded truck is standing in your name, tell us what we should do with it," the PTI leader reportedly said before adding that "my own personal recommendation is that after doing three or four suits on Tarar, he should be given [Section] 228 there so that they come under some pressure at least".

"Now I don't need to say anything... wherever we see the truck going, we will understand [what is happening]," Maryam said while addressing a rally in Gujranwala. "We will puncture all four tyres of this truck."

Talking about another alleged audio leak featuring former Punjab chief minister PTI leader Yasmin Rashid, she said it was not Maryam Nawaz who said that they "people" in Supreme Court.

"Now, don't say the truck you have parked outside the court was driven by Maryam," she said while apprising about allegations she, her father Nawaz Sharif and other PML-N leaders have faced.

Waving a toy truck at a well-attended public meeting, PML-N chief organiser Maryam Nawaz Sharif in a renewed attack on Imran Khan and his ‘facilitators’ on Friday asked the PTI to use ‘truck’ as its election symbol instead of ‘bat’.

The suggestion came soon after an audiotape purportedly of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry and his advocate brother Faisal Chaudhry surfaced.

In the tape, Mr Fawad purportedly asked Mr Faisal for arranging a meeting between two judges. He told Mr Faisal to assure the judges that a ‘truck’ stood behind them.

Ms Sharif said Imran Khan has been calling for contempt of court proceedings against her over her speeches about certain judges, but pointed to audio leaks featuring conversation between several PTI leaders about judges, and wondered whether the PTI chairman would make a similar demand for his party leaders.

PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday lambasted former chief justice Saqib Nisar for what she said was facilitating PTI Chairman Imran Khan to the prime minister’s seat.

Addressing a rally in Sheikhupura, the PML-N chief organiser recalled how the ex-CJP took away the certificate of “sadiq and ameen” from the PTI chairman.

She was referring to Nisar’s statement from a day ago when he said that the Supreme Court had not declared Imran Khan “sadiq and ameen” (truthful and honest) unreservedly and in all aspects of his conduct in its 2017 verdict in favour of the PTI chief.

Maryam said that Nisar — whom she labelled a “liar” — had “put the fate of the nation in the hands of a narcotic user”.

Maryam Nawaz, the senior vice president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), on Friday said that those who conspired against her father former prime minister Nawaz Sharif were now confessing to their involvement in the conspiracy and exposing others who were also involved in it.

Maryam said that "we don't have to do anything... they are exposing themselves. This is justice from the Almighty that we are seeing this," and added that not only were they confessing, but they were also pointing out others who were part of the conspiracy against Nawaz.

"They hatched [the conspiracy] together but now they are being exposed so everybody is looking after themselves. All of Imran's facilitators are escaping the country," she said while addressing a PML-N workers' convention in Faisalabad.

"I say this to Panama bench and [former chief justice] Saqib Nisar, you must listen to this... this nation will never forgive you no matter how many explanations you offer on Sadiq and Ameen," she said.

Maryam said that former prime minister Imran Khan, who was an absconder in some cases at that time, used to participate in the hearings of Justice (retd) Saqib Nisar and Justice (retd) Asif Saeed Khosa but no one bothered to arrest him.

She claimed that the Panama bench was not only an enemy of Nawaz but was also an enemy of the poor people of Pakistan who were being provided with Rs2 bread and cheap sugar.

Maryam lashed out at Imran for "humiliating" the nation in front of the IMF by succumbing to its demands. "Imran is responsible for today's situation. They (Panama bench) imposed an incapable, incompetent and watch thief on this nation. Nation will never forgive them for generations."

She said that the bench imposed a person on this nation who was addicted to drugs and he destroyed the country.

Hitting out at the PTI chief for using party workers, particularly women as "human shields" to prevent arrest, Maryam said that Nawaz Sharif went to jail along with his daughter but he never used his workers as shields whereas Imran is using his female workers for this purpose.

"He checks on his doorstep whether women were protecting him or not at all times," she said.

"What happens to our daughters and sisters is shameful. Their own lawmakers are saying what is happening at Zaman Park, we cannot even say those things in words."

The PML-N leader said that when courts summon Imran Khan, he excuses by saying that he has plaster on his leg. "Till there are cases in courts, his plaster will not come off. He says he is old and cannot come but when he has to hold a rally he is never too old. He is only sick for courts but not for rallies... have you seen a bigger hypocrite in your life," she questioned.

PUNJAB POLLS: MARYAM NAWAZ TO CONTEST ELECTION FROM GUJRANWALA

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice president and chief organiser Maryam Nawaz has decided to contest upcoming elections for Punjab Assembly from Gujranwala, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

According to details, the PML-N senior vice president will contest the election from PP-63 constituency of Gujranwala.

Maryam Nawaz has handed over her nomination papers to Shoaib Butt, the city vice president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

In a statement, Shoaib Butt said that Maryam’s nominations papers will be submitted to the Returning Officer’s (RO) office tomorrow by the latter’s lawyer.

In the 2018 general elections, Ashraf Ansari – who at the time was a dissident PML-N member – was elected MPA from PP-63. However, he later joined the party after some time.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that former Punjab chief minister (CM) Hamza Shehbaz submitted his nomination papers for three constituencies of Lahore to contest upcoming elections for provincial assembly.

The former Punjab CM submitted his papers from PP-147, PP-147 and PP-163 and he would take part in the Punjab elections from the three constituencies of Lahore.

It is pertinent to mention here that PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz returned to Pakistan after spending three months with his family in US and London.

PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday called on the coalition government to treat the PTI as a “terrorist organisation”.

“The way the government, the state deals with a banned organisation, a terrorist organisation, Imran Khan should be dealt with in the same way. Thinking of it (PTI) as a political party and dealing with it as a political party needs to end,” she said.

She said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan was now amenable for talks with the government after all his tactics had failed. “The government should deal with them in the same way it deals with terrorists.”

PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Sunday came down hard on the PTI, saying that the latter’s politics only revolved around appointments to the country’s top posts.

She made the remarks while addressing the office-bearers of the PML-N lawyers’ wing alongside Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah a day after PTI chief Imran Khan challenged the country’s incumbent rulers to put forward a plan to rescue Pakistan from the many crises it found itself mired in, and laid out his own roadmap to recovery.

At the outset of her talk, Maryam said that she had previously stated in her speeches that the PML-N was not afraid of elections, but merely wanted the scales of justice to be balanced before they were conducted.

“We are not scared of elections. We are not selected, we are elected. Those who are selected should be worried,” she said.

She also took exception to assertions that the PML-N only wanted to delay elections till October as a new chief justice would be in place by then.

“PTI’s whole politics revolves around which appointment is happening when. Yesterday, this slipped out of Sheikh Rashid’s mouth during the rally […]. That showed me that their entire politics revolves around appointments.”

She said that previously the PTI had the support of some from the military establishment, who had since left. “Now, they have found the judicial establishment,” she remarked.

She said that the PTI’s long march last year in November was aimed at making the appointment of the new army chief controversial. “Their entire politics revolves around appointments, around crutches. Their entire politics revolves around facilitators.”

Maryam said that Imran had “brazenly and blatantly” flouted the country’s laws by hiding in his home despite being summoned by the courts. “And when he went, he took armed groups […] tell me when in our history has someone been facilitated like this.”

Drawing a comparison with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, Maryam said her father faced false cases on the basis of which he was later disqualified.

But when Imran, who has continuously been flouting the laws of the land, goes to court, he is given bail left and right with the “strike of a pen”, she said. Maryam said Nawaz, Sanaullah and she herself had appeared before the courts in false cases but had never taken an armed group with them.

She said that the police went to Zaman Park in Lahore, where Imran’s residence is located, to implement the orders of the court yet officials were attacked with stones and petrol bombs. “The entire state was attacked from there just because police went to implement the court’s orders. Why are Pakistan’s laws and the Constitution sleeping? Why is action not being taken? […] Who is it who is protecting him (Imran) to this day?”

Putting her hand on her chest, Maryam said she was a democratic political worker. “I think that there is no other solution apart from elections. Elections should happen after every five years but there should be political stability in the country,” she said as she asserted that the PML-N would take part in and win the polls.

She said that the PTI was clamouring about the Constitution being violated but had forgotten when the Supreme Court unanimously struck down ex-National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri’s ruling on the no-confidence motion against Imran.

“When a person violated the Constitution, which article is applicable on him then? Article 6 is applicable […]. The SC said the Constitution was violated. Where is the punishment for violating the Constitution?”

She said that if the government had not filed a plea against Imran for violating the Constitution, then it was its “weakness”. She asserted that such a plea should be filed with the country’s top court.

The SC should also look at the fact that someone who was determined to have violated the Constitution has gotten off scot-free, she said. “What should we make of this?”

She said that Imran had dissolved assemblies in order to spread “unrest, chaos and anarchy” and questioned if the country and its institutions could work on the whims of such a person.

The PML-N leader also took exception to the SC’s decision to take suo motu notice of the delay in holding elections in KP and Punjab. She said two judges write a note to the chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) while hearing a completely unrelated case which lead to the top court taking suo motu notice.

“And that crisis has since prevailed. There is still a question mark [….] If the decision was 4-3, then this crisis would not exist. So there is some facilitating involved. I am not going to mince my words,” she said, terming the suo motu notice, the bench hearing the case and the note written by the two judges to the CJP all to be “controversial”.

She noted that one of the two judges she mentioned was the subject of a reference filed in the Supreme Judicial Council regarding financial irregularities. “And if someone says something then it is contempt of court? Contempt of court is when the courts are unable to dispense justice and corrupt judges are protected.”

She said that even if elections were held, what guarantee was there that Imran would accept the results if the PML-N won. “And if he wins in KP, where he is popular, who will give the guarantee that he won’t dissolve the assembly again?” she asked, adding that there could not be “selective application” of the Constitution.

How can anyone in their right mind take this woman seriously?

First of all, IK is where is due to support of the people not because of appointments.
She is clearly betraying her own thinking when she harps on about this and fact is they need their appointments to keep their disgusting tentacles firmly around the neck of the country.

Secondly, she talks about IK not attending court hearings and that when he does attend he has his supporters around him.
Can someone remind this disgustingly dirty and crooked woman that 1. Those cases are fake and 2. When she attended a NAB hearing she turned up with goons carrying stones in envelopes and bags who literally attacked the officers at the NAB hearing which then had to be cancelled and was never called again.

She’s a vile and wretched woman, with no morals whatsoever. Everyone knows what she’s up to and how she has lived her tainted life. It’s laughable that she’s somehow the queen of the begharait party even though she doesn’t hold an electable office.

She is the chosen ladlee of our Generals. Caught red handed for hidden wealth and fake deeds, she did a few months in jail and then used her fathers illness to get out of the jail but alas the father had left the country.

She is fast becoming a laughing stock. IK gives a ten point agenda. She gives is bughz e imran. They are finished as a party. The Generals can try all they want. One day they will all have to retire. There is a young generation that doesn't want their politics anymore and it will get worse for them..

Anybody seen the video in which she is trying to draw parallels of NS to the Holy Prophet SAW and hers with Hazrat Fatima Zahra?

Cringeworthy and facepalm moment of the millennium!

Not surprising. When you are a jaahil and come from a long lineage of jaahils this is the result. Nawaz proclaimed himself to be Ameer-ul-Momineen at one point as well but I doubt he even knows basic tajweed. Ameer-ul-Momineen is now hiding in London too scared to come back to the land of the pure.

NS learnt from his surrogate father Zia how to tap into the religious sentiment of the people but this is just going a bit too far. Height of desperation. Any idiot can see it

Just saw her interview with Mansoor Ali Khan. Posing like a model and taking sips of coffee Nani was behaving like she was on "Koffee With Karan".

No doubt she is desperate to eliminate Imran forever. She wants him arrested and fake a story that while taking his blood test it was revealed that he is a drug addict and also a mentally unstable person who is detrimental and destructive for Pakistan. Then it will be easy to fool the Judges and the nation.

PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday raised questions over Supreme Court’s March 1 verdict on a suo motu case about the elections in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkwa, asking why the apex court’s “4-3 verdict was changed to 3-2”.

In a tweet from her official handle, the ruling party leader apparently referred to the SC hearing of a petition filed by the PTI against the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) decision to delay elections in Punjab till October 8.

“Before deciding about the election, it will have to be decided why 4/3 [verdict] was changed to 3/2? What were the motives behind it and who was involved?” the PML-N leader questioned.

She says the truth, which is not digestable for most who are blindfolded my Imran's propaganda.

As vile as they come.

PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday advised Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial to not “follow” PTI Chairman Imran Khan, claiming that the latter had later turned his back on those “facilitating” him.

Addressing a party rally in Kasur, she said: “The courts are taking suo motu notice today on the words of this madman (Imran). So I want to tell you, with great respect, Umar Ata Bandial sahab do not follow after this man. He has used every facilitator of his and later turned on them.”

Maryam said the country’s situation would not have deteriorated to this extent if the CJP had “punished” Imran for violating the Constitution at the time of the no-confidence vote.

“The nation is asking why someone who committed such a serious crime was let go scot free,” she said. Maryam also questioned why the CJP only took notice of matters concerning the Constitution when Imran talked about them.

From Medical to MA in English Literature.
Masters in English Literature is not an easy subject and studying for it is not an easy task. I'm sure her degree is fake. Btw, I have yet to see hear even talk in English. I don't think she is very articulate in this language.
Although Bilawal is a duffer but if he claims the same I might believe him but not this Nani.

Tip of the iceberg. Most of their stolen wealth is hidden from us. As for her MA most likely a fake degree. She is barely literate.

A contempt plea was filed in Lahore High Court (LHC) against the PML-N Senior Vice-President and Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz for scandalizing the senior judges, ARY News reported on Thursday.

As per details, the intra-court appeal filed by advocate Shahid Rana stated that Maryam Nawaz is head of a major political party.

She accused the senior judges of the judiciary, the plea stated. He said that there is proper platform to report If there is any objection against a judge.

Maryam is a fine speaker of English. You guys have properly never heard her interviews.

Having said that I am doubtful about her degree. As far as I know she was studying medical but dropped out of it, as she wasn't able to clear all her subjects.

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that the judiciary has only ever disqualified elected prime ministers, and never military dictators.

Addressing a judicial convention in Rawalpindi a day after the Supreme Court announced its verdict in the Punjab polls delay case, the PML-N scion stated that no court “dared” to stand up against dictators and had their heads bent in front of power. She said "courts kept throwing out politicians, but never brought a dictator to the courtroom".

Bullies trained at Zaman Park behind violent protests: Maryam Nawaz

PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz has claimed that no one other than “bullies trained at Zaman Park” was behind the violent protests across Pakistan.

“This sabotage was planned by Imran Khan himself and the installations were marked where he was to be attacked in case of his arrest,” she tweeted, adding that the nation had seen “PTI terrorists” from their own eyes and refused to become a part of them.

“This is a big slap on the face of Imran Khan’s destructive politics. The government should not make any concessions to these miscreants,” she added.

Senior vice president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz has strongly criticised Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial over the release of Imran Khan, suggesting that the chief justice should resign from his position and join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

In a scathing critique on Twitter, Maryam claimed that the chief justice seemed exceedingly pleased with meeting an individual accused of embezzling Rs 60 billion from the national treasury, and was even more delighted in releasing this alleged criminal.

Maryam went on to accuse the chief justice of being responsible for the attacks on crucial and sensitive institutions in the country. Referring to the PTI chief, she argued that the top judge had become a shield for this miscreant and was adding further fuel to the fire in the country.

She suggested that the chief Justice Bandial should step down from his position and, like his mother-in-law, join the PTI.

Maryam’s comments come hours after the Supreme Court of Pakistan declared former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest as illegal, and ordered his immediate release in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.

Maryam accuses SC of ‘judicial martial law’

PML-N Chief Organiser has accused the Supreme Court of imposing a “judicial martial law” in Pakistan.

Addressing Pakistan Democratic Movement protesters outside the apex court, she said: “Today, when the army is standing with the democracy and Constitution of Pakistan … the fifth martial law in Pakistan … judicial martial law has been imposed from this building.”

Imran believes violence is ‘peaceful politics’: Marriyum

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that PTI chief Imran Khan believed that the violence that rocked the country in the aftermath of his arrest was “peaceful politics”.

Addressing the media in Islamabad, she took exception to Imran’s assertion that the attack of army installations was carried out by agencies — a claim he has yet to provide evidence for.

“But the audio leaks of Murad Saeed suggest otherwise. Instructions were being given to target installations and attack police. Were those orders issued by agencies?”

She further said that Imran had made remarks against the state the day he was detained. “You asked people to carry out arson attacks.”

Diesel and Nani staged a dharna/drama yesterday to show how peaceful their supporters are. No police no rangers. A pathetic strategy to fool the Judges to declare PTI and Imran as violent terrorists.
And now their puppet army guy wants to punish the culprits including Imran with an Army Act without any investigation.

“Your game is over, Imran Khan,” Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz exclaimed while addressing a large number of vibrant party supporters in Vehari on Friday.

This claim was certainly not made for the first time by Maryam and her party leaders, but this time around, keeping in view the mass exodus (voluntary or otherwise) by the senior PTI leadership in the aftermath of May 9 riots, odds were truly stacked against Imran as he seems to be fighting a losing battle.

Maryam addressing a youth convention in Vehari, first time after the May 9 riots by alleged PTI workers, said: “This change [alluding to the PTI mantra of Tabdeli], will drown in the same open sewer it came out of.”

Accusing Imran of the being the mastermind of the May 9 riots that saw many military and private properties attacked by angry protesters, Maryam said that people would not spare Imran and judges who supported him in his illegal escapades, referring to Chief Justice Umer Ata Bandial.

Maryam chided the PTI workers and leaders for being wimps, saying said that Imran and his party could not stand hardships even for a brief while, whereas her father, Nawaz Sharif, and his entire party stood tall in the face of audacity. “Those who tried to whip out Nawaz Sharif have themselves been whipped out,” the PML-N SVP said.

Maryam, who seemed in a jovial mode, said that she was not expecting a large turnout of youth in Vehari, claiming that she was in fact expecting people of all ages to participate in the convention.

She said what has happened on May 9 was truly unfortunate and distressing, which was why she said she dedicated her Friday’s event to the families of martyrs.

“What sort of despicable person destroys and sets ablaze memorials of martyrs? What happened on May 9 was not spontaneous, it was all meticulously preplanned by Imran Khan at Zaman Park, who is a thief and a foreign-funded stooge.”

Maryam said no enemy could dare commit the kind of acts Imran and his people committed. As soon as Imran was arrested, his people proceeded with the already planned protest – attacking military installations throughout the country.

“Why did the protesters in Lahore not turn towards the Mall of Lahore, which is right across of corps commander’s residence? Why did they go straight for cantonment in Quetta, towards GHQ instead of Lal Haveli in Rawalpindi and towards FC in Peshawar?

“Why did they burn a plane, a symbol of our valor and bravery in Mianwali? These attacks were on Pakistan Army.”

She said that it was unfortunate that the mastermind was roaming free while those who were misguided by him were behind bars.

She said that she had forewarned mothers that Imran was a rabble-rouser and requested them to save their kinds from this conspirator.

She said that women who attacked military installations were equally responsible.

She said that the PML-N too took a stand against the then COAS Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and the then DG ISI Faiz Hameed but while Nawaz during a rally sought answer from them (for allegedly supporting Imran), saluted Pakistan Army.

The PTI, on the other hand, tried to weaken and subjugate the army by attempting to initiate a wave of violence against them.

She said that on the basis of knowledge, she knew that this was a revolt against Pakistan Army, and Imran was not alone in it, he had support.

She said that these skirmishes had started with the removal of the then DG ISI Gen Asim Munir, who brought corruption of Bushra Bibi to the then PM Imran’s notice – a claim that Imran denied.

She said that later this continued when Imran tried to block the then DG ISI Gen Faiz Hameed’s transfer, as Imran wanted him to stay in power to help him to cling on to power for 10 years.

She said that when the new government was about to appoint Gen Asim as the new COAS, Imran took out a long march, which was aimed at only stopping his appointment.

Maryam said that Imran thought he would turn the tables on his rivals, first by dissolving assemblies, then by taking out long marches and later by attacking military installation but instead, the tables turned on him.

She said that those who were out to seek ‘True Independence’, on the drop of the hat, announced their resignation from the party, alluding to Fawad Chaudary.

She praised leaders of her party for braving prison and hardships. The only person who left the PML-N during that time was Chaudhry Nisar.

“Imran’s game is over and the winner in this game is Pakistan,” Maryam said, adding that did Imran still believe that his ticket had any worth.

She said the people contesting on his party’s ticket would be dealt with in the same way his people dealt with the military installation.

Mocking Imran for claiming before the court that Maryam was exacting revenge on him to avenge her father, the PML-N SVP said, “This is no revenge, this is divine justice.”

She said that with his departure from the political arena, the people would be able to feel peace in true sense of the word.

Aiming her guns at the judiciary, Maryam said that how could CJP Bandial adjudicate cases, where he himself was in the dock.

CJ Bandial in a case against the commission formed by the government on veracity of the audio leaks and its impact on fairness of judiciary, remarked that phone-tapping was illegal.

“Is conspiring against the state and supporting miscreants as well as plunderers of national wealth not against the Constitution?” she asked.

Maryam Nawaz, the senior vice president and chief organiser of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), asserted on Monday that the person who once boasted about invincibility and promised to bring tears to other people's eyes, was now isolated and shedding tears alone, referring to former prime minister Imran Khan who is under fire following the event that transpired following his May 9 arrest.

"Anyone who disrespects the martyrs sets their memorials on fire, or sets ablaze the fighter jets that destroyed enemy jets cannot be one of us. They cannot be Pakistani either,” she said while addressing a public gathering in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) Bagh area.

She emphasised that those who disrespect and burn down memorials of the martyrs cannot be respected.

“They dreamed of breaking the PML-N, but today, the PTI itself has fallen into disarray. Those who used to claim they were invincible and vowed to make others cry are now sitting alone and weeping. Even their own prime minister of AJK is testifying against them,” she added.

“Whoever acted in such a manner towards the martyrs and their memorials on May 9, listen carefully, the Pakistani nation and the people of Kashmir will never forgive you. We will make an example out of it."

The statement came following a severe crackdown against the former ruling party which landed in trouble following the rioting on May 9, a day the country’s military and PDM government termed as “black day”.

In an unprecedented show of vandalism, protestors allegedly belonging to the PTI vandalised public and private properties and even attacked the Army's General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and the Lahore Corps Commander’s residence, a historic building which was once the Lahore residence of the founder of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The attack took place hours after paramilitary Rangers personnel arrested the party chairman in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case, later retitled as the £190 million National Crime Agency scandal, on the orders of the National Accountability Bureau, from the Islamabad High Court premises.

The rioting was followed by a harsh crackdown against the former ruling party leaders and workers. Several senior PTI leaders have since been arrested, and many have dissociated themselves from the party.

So far, many senior-most PTI leaders, including Fawad Chaudhry, Shireen Mazari, Imran Ismail, Ali Zaidi, Amir Kiyani, Saifullah Nyazee, Fayyazul Hassan Chauhan, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, have parted their ways with Imran.

Besides a number of people, who were awarded PTI tickets for Punjab Assembly elections, also quit the party and returned their tickets, condemning the May 9 violence and attacks on military installations.

Simultaneously, several politicians also became active to benefit from this realigning of the new political dynamics. The foremost among them is Jahangir Tareen, a former close confidant of Imran Khan, and now a staunch adversary.

It has been reported that Tareen was forming his own political party amid speculations that those quitting the PTI would join him. According to sources close to Tareen, he was expected to announce the new party soon.

The sources said that more than 60 lawmakers and the top PTI leaders, have contacted the Tareen so far.
