That’s a terrible list. Looks very very biased

Solid list:

1. Boycott 60's
2. Graeme Smith 00's

3. Steve Smith 10's
4. Viv Richards 70's
5. Tendulkar 80's

6. Gilchrist 90's

7. Botham 70's
8. Akram 80's
9. Warne 90's
10. Cummins 10's
11. Anderson 00's

Deep batting and 5 genuine wicket taking options.

Replace Anderson with Steyn and it's solid.

No one thinks Anderson was better than Steyn other than Englishmen, most of them know Steyn was better too.

Akram and especially Sachin should not be in the 80’s. Gilchrist should not be in the 90’s.

Well, he is basing it on when the players debuted I assume, not the decade where they played the most or had their peak. Strange decision.

Anyway, on his list I would sub Imran for Botham and Steyn for Anderson at least. I would also be tempted to play Sangakarra over Gilchrist as wk but since Gilchrist debuted in 1999 and Sanga in 2000 I can’t make a straight swap. Shoddy methodology, Vaughany!

1) Sunil Gavaskar (70's)
2) Barry Ricahrds (70's)
3) Viv Richards (80's)
4) Sachin Tendulkar (90's)
5) Brian Lara (90's)
6) Garfield Sobers (60's)
7) Adam Gilchrist (00's) (WK)
8) Imran Khan (80's) (C)
9) Dale Steyn (10's)
10) Pat Cummins (10's)
11) Muttiah Muraliathran (00's)

I never met one who thought that.

Not a fan. Graeme Smith, Boycott << Gavaskar, Hobbs. DO not know how someone unbiased could rank Boycott over Gavaskar
Richards batted at three, SMith bats at four
Where are Bradman, Sobers, Marshall. Locks for at at XI
Imran >>> Botham
McGrath >>> cummins, Anderson

Mine is:
Hobbs
Gavaskar
Bradman
Smith
Sachin
Sobers
Gilchrist
Hadlee
Marshall
Warne
McGrath

Imran better than some players on this list but doesn't fit structure.
Hutton/Gavaskar is close. Viv, Lara, Hammond, Kallis, close with Sachin for#5. Imran, Curtly, Steyn close to Sir Richard

Not really sure how he was taken decades( Tendulkar 80s lol, Botham 70s)

Sobers - 60s
Gilchrist- 00s
Imran - 80s
Wasim - 90s
Warne - 90s

question for me is kalis or tendulkar as a pure batsman?
I will go with tenda.

Not really sure how he was taken decades( Tendulkar 80s lol, Botham 70s)

It's from the TMS podcast, the rule was a maximum of 2 players from each decade starting from the 60s with the players being categorized in the decade in which they debuted.

Bhaijaan's Team (Max 2 from each decade) :-

Gavaskar - 70s
Tendulkar - 90s

Tendulkar is 80s lol. Richards is 70s.

Gavaskar (70s)
Cook (2000s) - Captain
Richards (70s)
Tendulkar (80s)
Steve Smith (2010s) - Vice Captain
Kallis (90s)
Stokes (2010s)
Knott (60s) - WK
Akram (80s)
Warne (90s)
Anderson (2000s)

Steyn is more Cummins' decade than other decades he assigned. Anyway a world all time XI should have players pre 60' and shouldn't be limited by decade. Otherwise you are not picking the best

Just seen the context post re the rules. Revised list

Sunil Gavaskar (70's)
Barry Richards (60's)
Kumar Sangakarra (00's)
Steve Smith (10's)
Sachin Tendulkar (80's)
Graeme Pollock (60's)
Gilchrist (90's)
Wasim (80's)
Malcolm Marshall (70's)
Shane Warne (90's)
Dale Steyn (00's)

Wasim is everyone's favourite cricketer! Almost a given for him to be in such lists.

For debut decade I'll go with

Gavaskar (70s)
Steven Smith (2010s)
Viv (c) (70s)
Sachin (80s)
Graeme Pollock (60s)
Kohli (2010s)
Sanga (w/k) (2000s)
Wasim (80s)
Warne (90s)
Steyn (2000s)
McGrath (90s)

12th Colin Bland (60s)

Otherwise

Gavaskar (70s)
Kallis (90s)
Viv (c) (70s)
Lara (90s)
Sachin (80s)
Sobers (60s)
Gilly (w/k) (2000s)
Wasim (80s)
Steyn (2010s)
Murali (2010s)
McGrath (2000s)

12th Colin Bland (60s)
