Not much the coach can do if the likes of Musa, Rumman, Steyn and Faheem are bowling trash.
The pacers went for 143 runs from 12. 4 overs.

Misbah is overrated because he provided a semblance of consistency after the 2010 fiasco. It is not their bowling. It was Karachi Kings with their batting. They had a plan and they implemented it.
Not everyone can be coach and it takes years and education to be at that level ,however, person like Misbha and Aqib Javed will never understand it.
Do you see how Dean Jones is making notes ,while misbha dull sitting?

Misbah has to take credit for this debacle. Islamabad had a winning core which he inherited from Dean Jones. They have looked all over the place this season.
Winning just 2 out of 6 games is the worst performance they've had.
Dean Jones had an almost similar team.![]()
I am just glad that the next two years will expose Misbah completely either as some great that we all missed on or a fraud that will never be seen around Pakistan cricket.
Yes with a Misbah as captain who was fully utilizing his bowlers. Shadab is in learning stages and his bowling changes have been found wanting. He'll get those right in a couple more matches. I expect that near the business end of PSL, this core group of bowlers will raise their game
Misbha is much bigger than a fraud. Their is no word to describe him.
Um one of the years they won or lost the final Misbah played only 3 games. Misbah is a joke and s clown whichever way you look at it.
He's coach of the very same PSL franchise that let him go last year. I guess they realized they need him more than he needs them.
He's not a joke, you can't get to these positions if you're not serious and dedicated. Cricket is his livelihood. He lives and breathes it and people respect him for this
How many of our legends have gone on to coach any other national side? He's a joke. IU won when Misbah played and also when Misbah didn't play. They still got to the finals without him and won it. Now that Dean Jones is gone you can see the same team putting out nonsense on the field.
The fact Misbah wouldn't ever get a coaching job for any other national side and yet he has one with us should tell you all about it. He's a fraud and sadly our team will find that out soon enough.

Better attack and balance 5 proper bowlers
Yup. Sometimes pace off really helps on these batting pitches.
Shadab was out of form - not spinning.
Now him and Zafar have formed a potent spin attack. Pacers also doing well. Batting was never in question.
Strong combination capable of winning the title.

If it's such a brilliant combination, that what role is Hussain Talat playing, aside from just existing in the team?
Saif Badar would be a better shout as a right hander who can hit it and bowl a bit as well, but inevitably Misbah despite taking 2 forward steps takes one step back. He gas this maddening ability of taking bold decisions (dropping Faheem for Gohar) but then playing Rizwan Hussain and Talat instead of Badar.
Maddening

One victory against a terrible Lahore side and its suddenly a strong combination?
What about Talat down at 7 when anyone who’s seen him bat knows he’s not a big hitter.
A pace attack of Steyn (on his last legs), Raees (coming back from injury) and Akif (talented but very raw / inexperienced) is going to go the distance against better batting lineups.
And Shadab works as a pinch hitter when he’s got a couple of overs to play himself in. Coming out at 100 for 1 and basically needing to hit from the beginning is exactly the kind of situation he’s not suited to in the lower order which is why he promoted himself.

I think they've finally got their combination right.
They look invincible from now on.
The only troubling thing for me is Shadab Khan coming in to bat ahead of pure and proper hitters like Asif Ali plus even Husain Talat.
That can lead to underwhelming totals.
But otherwise, great combination now. Zafar Gohar strengthening the spin department.
Steyn also there.
Woah.
Yet another random post, "why aren't you playing my favorite".
They can only play XI players, and set combinations. It's not necessary that everyone will get a chance, especially when the combination is set, which it is right now. Zafar, Talat and Rizwan have been given a chance and can't be discarded just because you like someone else more. Wait for them to fail. They're doing good and Rizwan was good in the match before the last one.
It's not "One Victory". ISLU is consistently sitting at the top few spots in the points table, will play the play offs and the final too.
No, the pace attack is good. Raees is a clever T20 bowler, Steyn swinging it up front. Akif we all know is good. Spin attack is excellent too now.
I don't like Shadab coming in too early. Asif & Talat should hit before him, but it seems to be working right now.
First decision for Misbah should be:
Kick out Shadab as the captain.
This experiment must end.
Well, that depends on whether he is retained as coach. After all - under Deano, IU were never knocked out in the group stage.
IU become the first team to be knocked out of PSL 5.
The same crowd on a bashing spree right now is from the Mickey Arthur fan brigade.
The guy who lost Karachi Kings 4 freaking PSL tournaments.
2016
17
18
2019
....and they're targeting a guy who is 2-times PSL champion.)

But I thought internationals are more important. Under Arthur, we won several T20I series and were #1 by a long way while we can't seem to stop losing T20Is under Misbah, unless we face Bangladesh.![]()
