Misbah-ul-Haq to face the music from the PCB hierarchy

The notion that Pakistan would not have become a mediocre team without Misbah appearing as a central figure is yet another delusional nonsense by deluded cheerleaders.

Our fans will latch onto anything to shy away from the bitter truth, and the bitter truth is we are simply not good enough.

Not talented enough, not skilled enough and not intelligent enough. Pakistan cricket stinks of mediocrity and it is not because of Misbah alone.

He is part of the problem but not the problem.

Realistically speaking, top level coaches around the world will not see the Pakistan Head Coach role as very tempting.

Main reasons being, it's a poisoned chalice, no stability in the job, no stability at PCB, salary not as tempting as other jobs around the world.

PCB need to be creative here. Ideally they should go for the next foreign bright young coach, who hasn't already coached at a higher level.

The prospect of coaching at international level, coupled with the intrigue of coaching Pakistan is how you sell the role.

I'd actually look at high performing county coaches or shield coaches if I was the PCB.

Ideally, tempting someone like a Jason Gillespie would be great. Similarly, a Brett Lee or a Brendon McCullum, who are intelligent cricketing minds and 'big brother' type personalities, would be great. I dont anticipate the PCB thinking outside the box though, given the absolute state of the Misbah decision.

Thus, I would hand over the reins to Mohammad Wasim till the 2021 t20 world cup, and reassess from there.
