Petty stuff from the GoI - they’ve revoked his OCI card on a technicality. He’s never tried to deceive anyone about his family background, he even wrote a book about it all.

The whole world knew who is father was, I remember reading an article when his father mocked ISRO, after which universe somehow proved him wrong.

India should ban Modi because he visited Pak and held hands with Shariff (who was involved in 99 war) like he was family.

In RSS India, common Indian ridicule, banned, butchered for saying Pakistan and his father was Pakistani, he had no chance.
 
Giving this guy useless publicity.

But a guy having a British passport, OCI and likely a pakistani equivalent of OCI would be an aberration.

He can challenge this in court. When you fill your OCI form, it specifically asks for relationship to any pakistani. If he mentioned it then it should be no issue.

Problem is if he mentioned it, it would have been disapproved.

Do you think this would have happened had his mum still been writing pro BJP articles? Or if he was still fairly neutral towards Modi?

We’ve now got BJP officials on twitter referring to Taseer as a “rabid Islamist”. That’s out of order (not to mention untrue) and suggests there’s more to this decision than what the official line is.

It's pretty obvious this is retribution for his articles criticizing Modi.

If you want to run an honest newspaper in India, make sure you've your particulars all done right - pay taxes, forms filled right, clearances whatever .. else this vindictive government is going to scrutinize every aspect of your life.

I know his Mum is an Indian Sikh and Dad a Pak Muslim. Through his parents he has the right to be called an Indian or Pakistani if he wants. By your logic all the Pakistanis and Indian's born abroad are not that at all! Then again I am used to such mail's from you now!

Indian is someone who holds indian citizenship. He doesnot hold it. So he is not indian.

He is not even purely of Indian origin, rather mixed origin.

Pakistan allows dual citizenship, India doesnot.
 
There are many Indian's living born and living in the west who have never visited India yet support the Indian Cricket team and call themselves Indian. Force them to support England.

He is not indian. He never held indian citizenship.

He held OCI and that too acquired by furnishing incorrect info.

Through his Mum he has the right to call himself an Indian if he wants. If Adnan Sami Khan whose Mum was also Indian can be given Indian citizenship then he should be as well.

Why will you force what? I have again exposed Indian hypocrisy giving Adnan citizenship but not him. I know his Mum is a Sikh, so what?

Why don't you just stop with the drivel and say it as it is, i.e. no matter what you will not criticise your government, even if takes away someone's IOC card on a technicality and is being bitter due to that persons' views.

He may call himself Indian origin, but even that will be partially true.

Adnan Sami renounced his british and pakistani citizenship and acquired the indian citizenship by the process of naturalization.

His mother held pakistani passport.

Stop it! You know full well that he is not being given citizenship coz his old man is Pakistani. Simple as that and his Mum born in Jammu was technically Indian. Stop playing your word games to justify Indian hypocrisy.He is mad though wanting Indian nationality over the British one, needs his head checked for that.

As his Mum is Sikh he will soon be wanting Pak citizenship it seems. She may want to live in the land of the Sikh Guru's now that Sikh's have become so pro-Pak after the opening of Kartarpur.

I know much more then Sikhism then you will. I know many Hindu's call it a part of Hinduism which it is not. Point is that Pakistan is holy to the Sikh's, what believer would not want to live in their holy place.

Few Sikh shrines are in Pakistan. Majority including their holiest shrine, Harmandar Sahib is in India.

Go learn.

Arrh ok.. So he didn't have an OCI in the first place then? After all if he already had one then that could be due to the discretion of the government of the time and presumably something that could not be revoked?

Doesnot matter. As long as one of your parents or even grand parents held pakistani citizenship, your OCI will not be approved easily.

He had OCI. He mentioned his father was British citizen. When actually Salman Taseer held dual citizenship and had pakistani citizenship as well.

Since he omitted that, the application was processed normally.

What link has he got to the UK? If he wants to be Indian then good luck to him. Although if they don't want him there either, that is their decision. I take it he was brought up in Pakistan and that might be their objection.

Says a man where the Golden Temple of Sikhs was attacked by Hindu's lunatics. Pakistan is the home to Sikhism with the most important shrines that have never been attacked. Fewer Sikhs living in Pak does not prove a thing. India generally has more Christians like people of all religions does not mean the Pope loves you!

Coz he wants to start a business in India being a greater market as it is a bigger country. Pak did not offer him citizenship that he rejected it. Once again if his Mum is an Indian then by rejecting his citizenship you are again exposing yourself. Never mind, the opening of Kartarpur has Indian backsides on a massive fire:sarf2

Then he should take up his British citizenship and count himself lucky. Many people risk their lives to get here crossing treacherous seas or stowing away in freezing lorries. This guy has already got the golden ticket and he's whining that he can't hold a complimentary passport for India?

Bureaucracies all over the world come down hard on people who provide incorrect information in forms.

India being cautious about allowing people of post-partition Pakistani ancestry into the country is understandable given the case of David Headley.

Bit their historic 'spiritual' places scattered throughout Pakistan; Rawalpindi and Lahore. Pakistanis are deranged with this lovey dovey approach to sikhs; sikh empire caused great destruction to Muslim landsband desecrated many places of worship.

Indian and Pakistanis are to most part same people, so its not really mixed origin. Even his Father Salman Taseer was born IN India.

Salman Taseer was born in Shimla India.....so he can claim British Indian citizenship. We all know why it was revoked and it was due to what he wrote about Modi and co. Atleast the BJP should be game enough to own up why they are stripping OIC s.
 
Why does he want Indian citizenship out of interest? Is it because he has spent most of his life in Pakistan and India is the closest place he can find culturally to live in the same manner?

He was raised in Delhi has nothing to do with Pakistan! His mother lives there and makes life easier when travelling back and forth
