Mohamed Salah signs a new three-year contract with Liverpool

The future of the 29-year-old is one of the main talking points at Anfield currently, with a new contract not yet agreed due to differing stances on how much he is worth.

Salah’s current deal expires at the end of next season, and while Liverpool are desperate to extend his stay, they are not willing to offer him extortionate wages, with reports he wants £500k-a-week.

The diminutive Egyptian has been linked with moves to European giants Barcelona, and now a fresh rumour is doing the rounds.

According to AS [via Sport Witness], PSG are also looking at Salah ‘very seriously’ as the ‘first possible’ replacement for Lionel Messi, should the legendary Argentine move on in the summer.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi and co, worth $8bn (£6.1bn), believe he would ‘fit perfectly’ at the Ligue 1 club, both in terms of talent and marketability.

Mohamed Salah: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he's 'happy' about the winger's contract talks

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he is "happy" with Mohammed Salah's contract talks which are being discussed between the "decisive parties".

Salah, whose contract expires in June 2023, is close to agreeing a new deal with the club to keep him until the end of his career.

Liverpool have tied down a number of senior players to new deals this season, but fans are still waiting for their star forward to put pen to paper on a new contract.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool's Champions League quarter final first leg with Benfica on Tuesday, Klopp said: "I'm happy with it because there's nothing new to say - that's good. The decisive parties are talking to each other and that's all I need."

Ahead of Liverpool's 5-0 thrashing of Manchester United at Old Trafford in October, Salah told Sky Sports: "If you ask me, I would love to stay until the last day of my football career, but I can't say much about that - it's not in my hands.

"It depends on what the club want, not on me.

"At the moment I can't see myself ever playing against Liverpool. That would make me sad. It's hard, I don't want to talk about it, but it would make me really sad.

"At the moment I don't see myself playing against Liverpool but let's see what will happen in the future."

Mohamed Salah intends to sign a new deal at Liverpool, says Egypt sports minister Ashraf Sobhi.

Sobhi said he advised Salah, 29, to leave Anfield, only for the Egypt forward to say he was likely to extend a contract that runs until June 2023.

"I have advised him to continue his journey at a club other than Liverpool, but his direction now is to renew his contract," Sobhi said.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said he was "happy" with progress on a new deal.

"The decisive parties are talking to each other and that's all I need," Klopp said.

Salah said in January he wanted to stay at Liverpool but that his future was up to the club.

"They know what I want. I'm not asking for crazy stuff," he told GQ magazine at the time.

"The administration have [been] told the situation. It's in their hands."

Salah's agent Ramy Abbas Issa tweeted laughing emojis in March after Klopp's previous claim that he was "completely fine" with progress on an agreement.

Recent reports claim Salah is close to agreeing a four-year deal worth £400,000 per week in wages, having compromised on salary in exchange for longer terms.

Sobhi said his conversation with Salah came after Egypt's penalty shootout defeat in last week's World Cup qualifying play-off against Senegal.

"I said to him to forget what happened and focus on what's next," said Sobhi.

Salah has scored 153 goals in 240 appearances for Liverpool since arriving from Roma in a £34m deal in 2017.

He signed a contract extension a year later, after scoring 44 goals in his debut season.

Liverpool won the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020.

Liverpool consider 'bold' Kylian Mbappe move as Mohamed Salah '[potential] replacement' named

Jurgen Klopp currently has a full roster to choose from and it remains to be seen who will be given a starting spot this weekend, such is the strength of his squad.

But despite this, the rumours surrounding summer signings at Anfield continue.

According to the respected French outlet L’Equipe, Liverpool are credibly in the race to sign Kylian Mbappe when his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer.

Real Madrid are still strong favourites to capture the prized signature of the France superstar, but the new report wonders whether the Reds could put together a 'bold financial package' to rival the La Liga giants.

And, according to the report, Manchester City are also interested, but it states that Mbappe had previously expressed doubts about the club's 'lack of historical dimension'. Which one certainly could not say about Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah wants to sign a new contract at Liverpool, according to Egypt sports minister Ashraf Sobhi.

Salah’s deal expires in the summer of 2023 and an agreement is yet to be reached with the Reds.

Reports have suggested that the Egyptian wants a huge salary increase but Liverpool aren't willing to break their wage structure.

But according to Sobhi, a deal could finally be on the cards.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah says he will be at Anfield next season "for sure" but would not be drawn over whether he will sign a new contract.

Salah's deal ends in June 2023, leading to speculation he could be sold if he did not sign a new one as he would leave on a free in a year's time.

When asked about his future before Saturday's Champions League final, he said: "I don't want to talk about that.

"I just want to see Hendo [Jordan Henderson] with the trophy."

The Egypt striker, 29, added: "I don't focus on the contract at the moment. I don't want to be selfish.

"I am staying next season for sure."

Salah's team-mate Sadio Mane said he would announce his decision on his own future after the final against Real Madrid in Paris.

The Senegal international, who has scored 120 goals in 268 games for the Reds, will also enter the last 12 months of his contract from June.

He told Sky Sports News: "This question [about my future] I will answer after Champions League. If I'm staying or not, I'm going to answer after [the] Champions League."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has dismissed suggestions the outcome of Saturday's game will be a factor in whether some players decide to extend their contracts or not.

"No, not at all," he said. "What, if we win it they want to go? We are in talks with all the players, it is just not the moment to talk about the results of these talks. None of them are sitting there not knowing what we are planning.

"There is just not the time, we play every three days. The players have this idea, we have this idea, sometimes they match immediately, sometimes not and then we work together.

"We have known each other for ages."

Salah joined from Roma in 2017 and has scored 156 goals in 253 games for Liverpool.

He has helped the club win the Premier League in 2019-20, the 2019 Champions League, the FA Cup and League Cup this season plus the Fifa Club World Cup and Uefa Super Cup during his time at Anfield.

In March Klopp said it was up to Salah whether he signed a new contract.

The former Chelsea forward has previously said he wants to stay but his future is in Liverpool's hands and he is not asking for "crazy stuff".

On Sunday Liverpool were beaten to the league title by a point by Manchester City, ending their hopes of a quadruple that is unprecedented in England.

Saturday's match against Real Madrid in Paris will be a repeat of the 2018 Champions League final which the Spanish side won 3-1, with Salah going off injured in the first half after a controversial incident with Sergio Ramos.

"I'm very motivated, motivated through the roof, after what happened last time [2018 final] and Sunday - everyone is motivated for this," Salah added.

"We fight for this and everyone is excited."

Looks like he's just going to run his contract down. Probably best for both parties, next summer will be a good time to replace him.

Mohamed Salah informed close friends that he was willing to commit his future to Liverpool but performed a drastic U-turn after Barcelona promised him a move next summer.

The Egyptian winger is weighing up his options with his current deal expiring next summer. Salah has claimed he is staying put next season, but there are question marks over who his employers will be beyond that.

The Reds have been locked in extension negotiations since last summer but have been unable to come to an agreement as Salah looks for a hefty pay rise. While Liverpool are reluctant to break their wage structure, they maintain hope they can meet him somewhere in the middle.

If Salah doesn't sign an extension this summer and Liverpool hold onto him beyond the transfer window, they risk letting him leave as a free agent in 12 months' time.

That will bring several clubs into the equation and Mirror Football can exclusively reveal that the forward has been promised a move to Barcelona next summer on a free transfer. It’s believed that Barca's verbal offer is a major reason behind the forward stalling on a new deal at Liverpool despite informing close friends a few months ago that he was ready to pen a new deal at the Merseyside club.

Salah confirmed he will be at Anfield next season before their Champions League final defeat against Real Madrid. He said: "In my mind, I don't focus on the contract. I don't want to be selfish at all. I said two months ago it's about the team. It's an important week for us.

"I'm just focused on the team and winning the Champions League again. I want to see Hendo [Jordan Henderson] with the trophy in their hands and hopefully he gives it to me. I don't want to talk about the contract now, I'm staying next season for sure, that's clear."

Liverpool will hope Jurgen Klopp's recent contract extension - that keeps the German in the Anfield dugout until at least 2026 - will help convince Salah and Sadio Mane - who is in the exact same situation as his teammate - to commit their future to the Reds.

But Klopp doesn't think it will be a deciding factor. "That is more a question for the boys, what it exactly means for them but all fine, my relationship with them is great,” he said.

Will Mohamed Salah leave Liverpool next summer? Let us know in the comments .

"My point is in life there are more important things to think about, not only who is the manager but knowing who the manager and coaching staff is is an important thing because when you know what you have with other clubs where you could go, you don’t know exactly.

"There is no 100 per cent in this business but I think it is pretty likely I will stay for a little bit longer because other coaches are there at other clubs.

"If it is a positive sign for the boys, great, but I don’t think this will be the one decisive thing for whatever decision they want to make. It is their own life but we just wanted to guarantee that everyone who wants to be here knows what he can expect."

Mohamed Salah: Egypt forward rejected Liverpool request for a pre-match injury scan

Mohamed Salah rejected Liverpool's request to have a pre-match scan on an undisclosed injury before the forward played 90 minutes for his country on Sunday.

The 29-year-old captained the side to a 1-0 victory over Guinea in Cairo as Egypt began their qualifying campaign for next year's Africa Cup of Nations.

"Salah was hit by an injury but played through it," said manager Ehab Galal.

He added Salah's X-ray would take place after the game.

Egypt are scheduled to play an Afcon group match against Ethiopia in Malawi's capital Lilongwe on 9 June and a friendly against South Korea the following Tuesday.

During the first half of Liverpool's FA Cup final triumph over Chelsea last month, Salah was substituted with a groin issue after just 33 minutes. The injury also saw him ruled out of the Reds' Premier League away win at Southampton three days later.

Salah's future is still uncertain as he is yet to sign a new contract with the club, despite his current deal ending in June 2023.

The 2021-22 Golden Boot winner said before the Champions League final in May he would be at Anfield next season "for sure", but would not be drawn further on his current situation.

Liverpool are considering selling Mohamed Salah if they get an offer in the region of £60m this summer, with Real Madrid among the clubs monitoring the 30-year-old Egypt forward's situation. (Sun)

Liverpool could be prepared to let star forward Mohamed Salah leave the club this summer as negotiations drag on over a new contract for the player.

The Egyptian has just one year left on his current deal at Anfield with the Reds thought to be unwilling to meet his demands for a big pay rise. Former star Sadio Mane was facing a similar predicament, but Liverpool decided an agreement with the Senegal international was beyond reach and decided to sell him to Bayern Munich in a £35.1million move.

And reports have suggested the Reds may view Salah's future in a similar vein, and could sell their star forward this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing in a year's time. It comes as FC Porto expect Liverpool to firm up their interest in winger Otavio after they rejected an offer from Premier League rivals Leeds United.

Meanwhile the Reds are also set for a welcome seven-figure windfall to boost their transfer budget after Nottingham Forest signed Taiwo Awoniyi.

Mohamed Salah has signed a new three-year contract with Liverpool.

The 30-year-old Egypt forward only had a year left on his previous deal and there had been doubts about whether he would stay.

Salah has scored 156 goals in 254 appearances during his five years at Anfield since moving from Roma.

He said: "I feel great and I am excited to win trophies with the club. It's a happy day for everyone. We are in a good position to fight for everything."

Congrats to all Liverpool fans, this is huge.

I have a sneaky feeling that with Mane gone, he felt a bit more relaxed as there seemed to be a bit of tension between the two in regards to being the main man.

Liverpool played it clever.

They knew they couldn't give out such a huge contract to both Mane and Salah. So they sold Mane and the money they have saved on his wages they've rewarded Salah.

The tension was overplayed by the media, they have a great relationship.

But yes with Mane going the club had to secure Salah. You cant change 2 out of the front 3 in one season.

Salah is reported to receive £350k a week until 2025.

Great day for LFC fans. The King is here to stay :salah

Mane was clearly jealous of Salah's adoration and as much was made clear when he left. Mane may have had a point to an extent but raised the bar to new levels

Mane probably felt under valued and somewhat in Salah's shadow then Jurgen belittled the AFCON tournament won by Mane's Senegal. This further would have planted seeds of doubt in to Mane's mind as to if or not his future was at Anfield and if Jurgen treated him as being dispensable.

Overall it is a good outcome for everyone involved. After Mane's departure i did say right on this forum that Salah will stay. Circumstances were accelerated when Liverpool made Salah their final offer or threatened to sell him this summer.

Only other teams who could have wanted or been able to afford his wages were not interested, PSG and Real were not interested where as Barca are skint! Liverpool would never sell him to another EPL side.

End of the speculation.

Glad he is staying in the PL.

Mohamed Salah: Liverpool right to bend wage structure for 'legend', says Jamie Carragher

Jamie Carragher says he is "delighted" Mohamed Salah has signed a new three-year contract and Liverpool were right to pay the forward big money to stay at Anfield.

There was speculation the Egyptian could leave the Reds next summer, with his previous contract having just one year left to run. However, he has now put pen to paper on a deal which will see him earn in excess of £350,000 a week through to 2025.

Liverpool have a carefully managed wage structure but with forwards Sadio Mane and Divock Origi departing, Sky Sports pundit Carragher believes his former club have used the freed-up money wisely by making Salah the highest-paid player in the club's history.

Asked if his reaction to Friday's news was relief or elation, Carragher told Sky Sports News: "A bit of both.

"Losing Mane, it was sad to see that front three break up. Lots of Liverpool fans over the last few months were kind of resigned to the fact that Salah might see out the last 12 months of his contract and then move on. And perhaps the club were not maybe prepared to go the numbers he wanted or he felt he deserved and he would leave the club.

"But I think the fact that Origi has moved on and Mane has moved on and Liverpool have brought in maybe one attacking player who is on similar sorts of wages [in Darwin Nunez]. I think the fact that two have gone and one has come in means that they could maybe get closer to the numbers Salah wanted.

"I think everyone is just delighted Salah has signed and fingers crossed he produces over the next three years what he has produced over the last five years and I am sure that he can.

"Maybe money [was the main factor in negotiations]. There is nothing wrong with that. Salah has been as good as anybody in the Premier League or anyone in European football, certainly in his position, and he'll feel he deserves to be paid as well as those. And we know the types of numbers other players get at other clubs.

"Liverpool have never really gone to that level in terms of numbers, certainly under FSG - and I think that a lot of Liverpool fans respect that model because it has brought a lot of success to the club so they almost accept how they go about things not just with player contracts but also with signing players.

"I don't think there would have been much criticism if Salah had left. But I think now and again when you have someone as special as Salah the rule that you have to have in place you have to certainly bend them, maybe not necessarily break them but you have to maybe go closer to a position that maybe you don't want to."

Carragher says Salah already has legendary status at Liverpool but is hopeful that the 30-year-old will continue to deliver the same levels of performance he has in recent seasons during the course of the next three years.

"The way he looks after himself, I think he can be like a Cristiano Ronaldo, still getting goals in the Premier League," said Carragher.

"The way Salah leads his life, I think there is a good chance over the next three years you will see no sort of drop-off in terms of his numbers.

"Salah is already a Liverpool legend and if he'd moved on in 12 months he'd have still been a legend. What players like him, Alisson, Van Dijk, Mane, how they've changed the face of Liverpool Football Club along with the manager means they will all be legends no matter when they move on for the club and for whatever reason they move on from the club.

"I think the supporters are very thankful for what these players have given. Salah will finish his time in the top five or six players ever to have played for the club. He's certainly in Liverpool's best-ever XI and there's no doubt that right now he's a Liverpool legend and hopefully he can enhance that reputation over the next three years."

Letting him go would have meant needing to sign another £80 million forward. Salah has delivered plenty of success at Liverpool. There is always a question mark when a new expensive signing arrives as is with Nunez. Overall I am glad our proven goalscorer is staying.

Ask any Liverpool fan what they think of Mohamed Salah's new contract and you will get a mixture of relief and joy that he will be "running down the wing" for another three years.

In his first season after moving from Italian club Roma in 2017, the "Egyptian King" was the Premier League's top scorer, and he then went on to help the club become European and English champions.

But he's won as many - if not more - plaudits for his persona and conduct off the pitch, helping to change perceptions of elite footballers and break cultural boundaries.

His charitable contributions - to education, healthcare and animal rights projects - have won praise and prompted a former football communications officer to remark that he has "never forgotten his roots".

But it was his act of prostrating in prayer after goals that reverberated in the wider global consciousness, even among those who don't follow football.

In 2015, two Liverpool fans performing the ritual Islamic prayer - coincidentally known as "salah" in Arabic - at Anfield were described as a "disgrace" by one Twitter user, who received widespread criticism for his comment.

Dr Solava Ibrahim, an Egyptian-British lecturer in international politics at Anglia Ruskin University, describes the then "dominant discourse" about Muslims as "being violent or constantly linked to terrorist attacks or debates around women's subjugation".

So as a long-time Liverpool supporter, she says it was "a huge wow moment" when fans started singing that Salah was "a gift from Allah" and that "if he scores another few, then I'll be Muslim too".

"It was showing not just acceptance but his position as a role model - not just for Arabs, Middle East and Africa but also for UK youngsters," she adds.

Najib Al-Hakimi, who works as a co-ordinator at the Liverpool Arabic Centre said he was "thrilled" by the song, "because people were looking at Muslims as if they were ignorant and terrorists".

"But by his actions, he was able to change that," he adds.

He has since noticed more members of the local Arab community going to Anfield in recent years, adding: "Most of the youth are wearing his shirt and they'll talk about him, how good he is."

Liverpool fan Neil Atkinson, who writes for The Anfield Wrap, has also noticed that "there's definitely been an element of shifting" across Merseyside.

"If people feel that the Muslim faith is other, Salah's actions are significant," he says.

"After he prays on the pitch, I love that he'll turn to celebrate with the crowd and he's also celebrating himself, which are good things."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has previously spoken about how the team incorporate time for Salah to perform religious rituals as part of match preparations.

Club captain Jordan Henderson has also said the team opts for non-alcoholic champagne at trophy presentations, adding: "Within the dressing rooms there's none of that [intolerance] so why isn't that the case in the outside world?"

Mr Atkinson believes the wider city of Liverpool "sees itself as quite different to the rest of England because it's a port… it wants to be more outward-looking".

Salah also gets a hero's reception when he is spotted out and about around Liverpool.

One young boy famously faced the force of his - literally - unswerving devotion when he ran into a lamppost while chasing Salah's car in 2019.

Louis Fowler bust his nose but was said to be "made up" when the player turned back to check on him.

Dr Ibrahim says the incident demonstrates Salah's "human touch and accessibility".

"He is much more famous than a lot of Nobel Prize winners but he's not seen as someone up in the clouds or in the elite classes, I think that's part of why his messages get through," she says.

Salah has previously spoken about how women "deserve more than what [society] give her now" and has since appeared in a Women's Day promotional video with his eldest daughter Makka, while also asking his wife Magi to accept the Golden Foot award on his behalf last year.

"You need to see the message," says Dr Ibrahim.

"It's not just rhetoric and action - and that's the power. It's subtle and real."

In one of many academic studies of what's now known as the "Salah effect", a number of Brits shared their views about how he had "opened people up to thinking about Islam in a different way".

Prof Grant Jarvie, who co-authored the research for the University of Edinburgh, said: "We were surprised - not so much about the impact of Mohamed Salah - but with these sort of studies, you normally get a mix of criticism and good things. But generally speaking, people were positive about Salah on and off the field."

He says the striker demonstrates "soft power potential", adding that "sport can be a good enabler of cultural relations".

The player's impact in reducing Islamophobia - particularly in a city with Britain's oldest mosque - has been described as "phenomenal" by Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram, while Time magazine named Salah among the world's 100 most influential people in 2019.

It's not been all goals and glory though.

Salah divided public opinion during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after suggesting an Egyptian team-mate who apologised for committing sexual harassment should be given a "second chance".

Merseyside Police also had to remind him not to use a mobile phone while driving after he was filmed using a device in a car, which was surrounded by fans.

However, Salah's reputation remains relatively untarnished and with that comes a boost for Liverpool as a city.

While the region played a key role during the British Empire and later in culture and sport, its landmarks are becoming an increasingly familiar backdrop for adverts by Salah's international sponsors.

In echoes of The Beatles film A Hard Day's Night, a recent one shows him being chased by fans in a Pepsi commercial for Middle Eastern audiences.

Mr Atkinson says Salah's contract extension enables the striker to thrive in "that reflected glory of being Muslim, Arab, Egyptian, all the different parts of his identity - it makes everything brilliant for himself and Liverpool".

Salah Integral again but not sure why they didn't try and keep Mane. Though his jealously got the better of him in the end and will make hay at Bayern.

Another key point earned via Salah’s boot. A new contract for him was like getting a new signing for Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah can become Liverpool's outright leading goalscorer 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 Manchester United if he scores tonight.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is now the fifth highest-earning footballer in the world when salary and endorsements are included, according to a new report.

Analysts at US sports business website Sportico looked at the highest-paid players across world football through a combination of both their weekly wage and also the value of the commercial endorsement deals that they had in place.

Salah, 30, penned a new three-year deal with the Reds during the summer, putting an end to more than a year of speculation surrounding his Anfield future, with reports suggesting his weekly wage was now in excess of £350,000, a sum of just over £18m per year.

His new deal and revenues from endorsements with the likes of Vodafone, Adidas, Pepsi, Uber and electronics company Oppo mean that he is expected to receive £34.8m ($39.5m) over the course of the 2022-23 season.

A 6 minute hat trick against Rangers for super-sub Mo Salah!

The fastest Champions League hat trick ever!

Class is permanent.

Salah must have read my comments on a certain LFC fan site that he reacted today. All I did was call him "selfish, greedy and lazy". I saw anger on his face today much to my delight. Now keep your scoring boots on Mo if you want to avoid more criticism. The opposition may be poor nonetheless we can only defeat what was put in front of us.

Overrated, overpaid etc. When you consider this is the quickest ever and he missed a very good opportunity within moments of coming on, this is brutal.

Really hope he dents Man City. He likes playing them

City to be fair are due a loss.

I think on Sunday it will be a draw.

Salah to score.

League one defender Trent is injured which is bad news for City. Foden and Cancelo would have ripped him a new one.

Gomez is a proper defender and he can negate them.

I hope Liverpool can get something out of that game for Klopp’s sake. Poor guy has run out of excuses which is a big achievement for him, and he looks to be on the verge of crying.

Youve never been to a PL match and never kicked a football, so Ill excuse your lack of understanding in this sport.

Klopp is fine, its football you cannot be the best with City every season as LFC have been for last 4. Klopp has won every trophy possible, coming 1 point for league and one win to make it a Quad. No other team has come close, esp Arsenal and Arteta could only dream of achieving what Klopp has in his entire coaching career.

Not sure why you are crying, no one said anything about Klopp’s achievements and the legacy he has built at Liverpool and English football.

But the fact is that Liverpool have looked ragged this season, more so than 2020-21 season when a fluke Alisson goal saved them from Europa league.

Liverpool fans are acting as if that league season never happened and they didn’t finish behind United and 17 points behind City only two years ago.

Nevertheless, this league season is shaping to be a bigger disaster especially because the loss of Mane has dented the team chemistry, Darwin looks lost and by his own admission there is a language barrier between him and Klopp.

Almost every player apart from Firmino and Alisson is playing at a lower level than they did last year.

It is almost as if getting humbled by Madrid in the UCL final after the Liverpool fans and players ran their mouths before the game broke their spirit.

People are talking about Klopp being in danger but I don’t agree with that, he has too much credit in his bank and the fans would riot if he is sacked.

Don’t see it happening at all, but that doesn’t change the fact that he is currently looking lost and doesn’t seem to have any solutions.

They might be the best on paper but they are not looking impressive on the pitch. No one said it is a poor team, you keep putting words in other people’s mouth because you like to deflect the main point of debate.

The point is that Liverpool are playing poorly and so far Klopp has not been able to turn things around this season. Title challenge over in October is embarrassing for a team that likes to call itself one of the greatest in PL history.

Rangers put him back in form with that lightning quick hattrick. Could be the catalyst that get him firing again with City first amongst his cross hairs.

If Liverpool lose to City, they're almost certain to miss out on top 4 I reckon. Come the end of the season and you finish below 4th, you can't say you have the second best squad in the PL.

Even Pep today said LFC is still the biggest title rivals. We were 12 points behind City with many less games to go. Plenty of time for top 4, the likes of Arsenal, Spurs, Utd will all fade away. Nobody sees Arsenal as the 2nd best squad for intelligent reasons.

Anyway this is a Mo Salah thread, not at his best but still has 7 goals in 12 matches, with 3 assists. Also one of the top 3 to create most chances. The world cup break will do him good. 2nd half of the season will be productive.

Egypt winger Mohamed Salah would be willing to leave Liverpool in the summer if the club fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Al-Ittihad want to sign Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and make him the highest played player in the Saudi Pro League.

As Spanish media Relevo revealed on Thursday, the club are convinced the player wants to join but face a battle to get him out of Liverpool with just a week left of the European transfer window and two years left on his contract.

Salah would be linking up with Karim Benzema if he makes the move. And he would become a direct rival to Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, eclipsing the world record £175million-a-season deal the Portuguese signed last year.

The Spanish publication also claims that the Egyptian international wants to leave the Anfield club, and that his entourage have met with Al-Ittihad officials in Dubai to make clear their intentions to make him the highest-paid player in the league.

It reports that the player's religious beliefs are a key part of his thinking, with Islam the official religion of Saudi Arabia.

Highly unlikely LFC will allow Salah to leave this season.

Salah will leave next season for sure, the numbers offered to him are huge.

Salah atm is on £350k a week (before taxes). Al-Ittihad are willing to pay him £350k a DAY (no tax)!

Imo Saudis are testing the water, they know Salah wont be leaving this season.

Liverpool will have to decide on whether to keep a man that is unhappy at Anfield or take the money. Although he looks off the pace at times, his statistics are on another level.

The Saudis are not going away.

They will continue to tempt Salah who will be a huge draw in the Saudi league.

Crazy money being offered - let's see if LFC give in.

Its just tabloid garbage being recycled bro. Salah isnt going anywhere this season but will next season he could very well go and it would be fair.

Mo Salah transfer: Saudi Pro League’s Al-Ittihad confident £150m offer can persuade Liverpool star to move.

Al-Ittihad are convinced Salah can be tempted to join, and he wants to hear them out at least, two sources tell i.

Al-Ittihad are confident Mohamed Salah can be persuaded to move to Saudi Arabia despite Liverpool‘s insistence he is not for sale.

As far as the Saudi Pro League is concerned, it is the deal that could change everything.

Saudi interest in Salah has been long-standing, with his agent’s insistence earlier this month that his client remains focused on Liverpool quietening speculation down as we near the close of the summer window.

That does not mean Al-Ittihad will stop trying though in the next few weeks.

“He is 31 and has won everything at Liverpool, what is left to achieve?” one Saudi-based insider said.

“You cannot understand just how big a star an Arab player [of his calibre] playing in Saudi Arabia would be.

“Salah moving here would be a game changer.”

Tomorrow should be interesting.

The Saudis are going to test the LFC owners.

If he doesn't go now then it's almost certain he'll be gone at the end of the season.

LFC should cash in.

Klopp provides Salah update

Jurgen Klopp was asked about Mohamed Salah's future ahead of Liverpool's meeting with Aston Villa, and made his position clear.

The Reds could face a bid from the Saudi Pro League, with a chance for any exit to unsettle the squad.

"The position remains the same absolutely," the manager said.

"That's how it is. Nothing else to say. No offer as far as I know."

What a legend Salah is.

He is willing to leave 1.5 million a week because he wants to continue playing at LFC. Many would have gone , very quickly for such a huge pay rise.

Salah wants legacy, he believes LFC can challenge for the title.

Salah ends up in the LFC all time XI.

Liverpool have rejected a £150m offer for Mohamed Salah from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad.

The bid for the 31-year-old forward was for in excess of £100m, with add-ons taking it up to £150m.

Liverpool remain insistent the Egypt international is not for sale, and that is final as far as the club are concerned.

Salah, who joined the Reds from Italian side Roma in 2017, signed a new three-year contract last summer.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said last week that Salah was "100% committed" to the Anfield cause, and on Friday he reiterated the club's stance that the player was not for sale.

"The position remains the same. Absolutely no doubt about that. That's how it is. Nothing else to say," said Klopp.

Liverpool would have little time to react to Salah's potential departure, with the transfer window closing at 23:00 BST on Friday for incoming deals involving Premier League teams.

However, Al-Ittihad will still be able to sign players as the Saudi Pro League transfer window is set to close on 7 September.

BBC

Speculation over Mohamed Salah's future at Liverpool could intensify this week, but no-one is calmer than Jurgen Klopp about his star forward's future.

Klopp's side rejected a £150m bid for the Egypt international from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad last week, with the Reds insisting the 31-year-old is not for sale.

With the transfer window in Saudi Arabia not closing until Thursday, Liverpool are bracing themselves for more bids in the coming days.

But after watching him score one goal and play a part in the others as the Reds beat Aston Villa 3-0 in the Premier League on Sunday, Klopp insists Salah is focused only on doing his best for the club.

"I never had any doubt about his commitment to this club," the German told Sky Sports.

"You can't imagine how much fuss the world has made but how calm we are with it. He is our player and wants to play here."

That belief in Salah's desire to remain at Liverpool appears to be felt in the dressing room.

Summer signing Dominik Szoboszlai, who scored his first goal for the club after just three minutes against Villa, said: "You know it is football, everyone is talking. We are really happy that he has stayed.

"We are of course speaking between each other but he wants to stay, he wants to be here and be with us.

"We are really happy - we need people in the team like him."

It is understandable Szoboszlai and his team-mates would be keen to emphasise Salah's importance to the team.

With his goal against Villa, he has has now scored or assisted in 10 consecutive appearances in the Premier League - the longest run since the frontman himself went on a 15-match streak between August-December 2021.

Salah, who has two goals in four games so far this season, has not scored fewer than 19 in a single season since moving to Anfield in 2017. He also has 188 goals for the club, putting him fifth in their all-time list.

While the Reds are being offered a significant sum of money for a 31-year-old, that is a lot of goals from one individual to try to replace.

"He has unbelievable numbers but it's not a surprise that he has the numbers," added Klopp.

"He didn't look for a second like he thought about anything else other than about Aston Villa, being involved in all the goals."

There was certainly no question about Salah's commitment with his performance against Villa.

But every player has their price and, should Al-Ittihad returned with improved bids in the coming days, it could prove to be a real test of Liverpool's resolve.

No surprise - Al-Ittihad want to make another offer for Mohamed Salah before the Saudi Pro League window closes on Thursday.

Saudi strategy is keep their league in the news. When you can offer huge amounts, you will be in the news.

Salah kissed the Liverpool FC badge in front of Anfield, showing his loyalty. Not only a LFC all time XI player but will go down in the Premier League XI.

Salah is not replaceable for Liverpool, as soon he leaves , the team will automatically become weaker.

Salah will ride out this season but after that he's gone. Next summer he'll be 32, it'll be impossible to turn down that money.

Big money's tempting, but Salah's love for LFC is real. If he exits next season? Honestly, can't blame him

Going, going....

BREAKING: Al-Ittihad are preparing to launch a world-record £215m bid for Mohamed Salah to give Liverpool’s resolve one final test.

Liverpool remain adamant Salah is not for sale, at any price, which is why they rejected last week’s £150m offer out of hand.

Saudi delegation arrive in London to make £200m push for Mo Salah

A Saudi Arabian delegation arrived in London on Saturday as they make one last push to persuade Liverpool to sell Mohamed Salah this week.

The public message from Anfield and Jurgen Klopp, in particular, has been loud and clear that the Egyptian is not for sale and is happy at Liverpool.

An offer around £150million was dismissed last Thursday night and his performance against Aston Villa on Sunday underlined the player's commitment to the cause.

As Klopp underlined: 'I never had any doubt about his commitment. He is our player and wants to play here.'

However, the Saudis will push their offer towards £200million over the next 48 hours in the belief Salah would be open to joining Al-Ittihad.

Daily Mail

FIFA need to force Saudi transfer window to close 1st Sept like European clubs.

They have a right to make an offer but they are becoming very annoying and arrogant now. Saudis need to realise, legacy is huge for players such as Salah. He will play until 37/38, as he is very fit and still has his pace.

Saudis can go back after some English tea, they are going back empty handed.

He'll be gone in January I reckon

Only if LFC are way out of the title race with very poor form in December.

Next Summer the Saudis will get him but LFC will demand a high price again with 1 year still remaining.

Salah wants to go himself because the club has no realistic ambition of challenging for any silverware

So 150 million pound a year salary is a no brainer, no tax , muslim country infrastructure an Arab country which supercedes the dump that is liverpool and Cheshire belt where footballers live. If we were all in the same situation how many of us would turn that sort of money down.

Plus he is right next to his home country Egypt and will play In a league that won't have the intense pressure and physical drain.

Salah will be gone plus the money obsessed owners of Liverpool won't simply turn down 200 million.

Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad are ready to lodge a £200m bid for Liverpool's Egypt star Mohamed Salah, 31, but fear time is running out before Thursday's transfer deadline. (Telegraph)

The Saudi Pro League transfer deadline shut at 22:00 BST to end a record-breaking summer of spending - but Al-Ittihad were unable to prise Mohamed Salah away from Liverpool.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side had a £150m bid rejected by the Reds for the 31-year-old Egypt international and reports of a world-record £215m bid were never confirmed.

Mohamed Salah: Liverpool star will remain at Anfield for now but Al Ittihad expected to return with big transfer bid

Liverpool were braced for a world-record bid for Mohamed Salah on Thursday but the club and their supporters could breathe a sigh of relief when an improved offer from Al Ittihad failed to materialise before the Saudi Pro League transfer window closed.

The Reds had turned down a £150m offer on Deadline Day but with the Saudi window open for another six days there was an expectation Al Ittihad would try again to land the Egypt forward.

Liverpool have always maintained Salah is not for sale but, as Sky Sports News' Vinny O'Connor reports, their resolve is likely to be tested again in January or next summer, with the Saudi club refusing to give up on their dream deal. And at some point, an offer may prove too good to turn down...

"On Deadline Day, our information was Al Ittihad were potentially going to go higher and come back with a revised offer but that offer hasn't materialised yet.

"We also hear the Saudi Pro League want to remain respectful of Liverpool and don't want to irritate them by going in with bid after bid after bid.

"So for now it looks as though the dust is going to be allowed to settle. That doesn't necessarily mean Al Ittihad's interest is over but they've been told that Mo Salah isn't for sale in this window, it's been a consistent message.

"They tested the water last week and they've been given that response.

"I think there's every chance they would look to get a deal for Mo Salah done in January and beyond that. Al Ittihad's stance is that they will not give up on signing Mo Salah. That's the bottom line at the end of the day, they have not ruled out going back with an improved offer.

"They believe, from their perspective, there is still a deal to be done.

"Remember, Al Ittihad are willing to pay Salah around £1.5m a week, which would make him the highest-paid player in Saudi football. On the other side of that, a sale for Liverpool becomes more and more attractive as time goes on.

"Looking beyond January, you consider next summer a £100m for a player going into the final year of his contract who is in his early 30s, there's more than an argument to say that makes business sense.

"For now, Liverpool remain of the view, he's a key player, that's why they worked so hard to tie him down to a new contract. They pay him £350,000 per week, making him Liverpool's highest-paid player in their history. And he remains a top performer in the Premier League.

"But as time goes on the chances of an improved offer coming in from Saudi Arabia will increase."

Liverpool: Saudi Arabia move for Mohamed Salah not a worry - Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is not concerned about the possibility of forward Mohamed Salah being targeted by Saudi Arabian clubs in January.

The Reds rejected a £150m bid for the 31-year-old before the Premier League transfer window shut on 1 September and there were no further moves before Saudi Arabia's closed six days later.

However, Saudi Pro League director of football Michael Emenalo has said the door is not closed on a move for Salah.

"You are kidding me, yeah?" said Klopp.

"A week after we close the transfer window, you ask about the January transfer window?

"Obviously, you can't wait until December to ask these questions. We will see what happens. Until then, I'm not worried in this moment.

"I didn't even think about it until you opened that wound again. No, I'm not worried."

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah earning at least £1m a week, adviser indicates

Mohamed Salah’s contract at Liverpool is the catalyst for him to earn at least £1m a week in total income, his lawyer and adviser has indicated. Ramy Abbas Issa told a Harvard Business School (HBS) study, seen by the Guardian, that would be a “conservative” expectation of what the forward makes.

Abbas and Salah also detail how close the highest-paid player in the club’s history came to leaving before a new deal, which runs to 2025, was confirmed on 1 July 2022.

Negotiations had started in 2020 and whether Salah would extend was in doubt as late as June 2022 when, he says in the study, discussions with Liverpool had “broken down entirely”.

I am very happy and excited to hear that Mohamed Salah has signed a new three-year contract with Liverpool. He is one of the best players in the world and a key member of our team. He has scored 125 goals and provided 47 assists in 203 appearances for the club, winning the Premier League, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup. Salah’s decision to stay with Liverpool shows his loyalty and commitment to the club and the fans. Good news after all.

Mohamed Salah: Liverpool winger says Jurgen Klopp's exit this summer will not affect his own future

In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports' Jamie Carragher, the Egyptian winger was asked if Klopp's departure will impact what happens regarding his future this summer, and his answer was clear.

"No," he said. "It's part of life now, that everything moves. Players have left already, very important players. The manager is also very important for the club and is leaving.

"One day I will leave the club, but no [Klopp leaving doesn't affect my future]."

To say Salah was stunned at Klopp's shock announcement on January 26 is an understatement.

In fact, he believed the bizarre 10.30am meeting that day was going to see the German manager announce a new contract with the Merseyside club.

"Usually we don't do meetings at 10.30am, as 10.30 is the report time," Salah added. "It's normally a 10.30 meet time and then 12 noon training. Then they said there was a meeting at 10.30am. I was like: 'What?'

"The manager's agent was there at the training ground and I thought: 'Oh, he's renewing his contract'.

"And five minutes before the meeting, Virgil [van Dijk] said: 'Do you know what the meeting is about?'

"I said no. He said: 'The manager is leaving'.

"I said: 'Really, the manager is leaving? You serious? Why?'

"He said: 'No idea'.

"Then the manager came in and he just said it and it was weird because no-one knew before. There was nothing in the media. He didn't even prepare us for that, he just said it. That was a weird day for us and for the club."

The task for Liverpool's players is to now deliver as many trophies as possible before Klopp's exit. The Carabao Cup is already in the bag, while an FA Cup quarter-final with Manchester United is on next week's agenda.

The Reds are all but into the Europa League quarter-finals after dispatching Sparta Prague 5-1 in the last-16 first leg in midweek - and then there is the Premier League. A mouthwatering clash with Manchester City this Sunday, live on Sky Sports with a 3.45pm kick-off, will go some way to dictating the outcome of this year's title race.

"They are decisive games, if I am being honest," Salah said. "There have been a few years where they have won the league by one point, so when we lost at the Etihad, that was a game where they won the league.

"It's always a decisive game and I think if we win the next game, we have a great chance to win the title. But I think we have to focus on what we can do and we go from there.

"That [game on Sunday] is very important to give us a push that you want against Man City. The difference would then be three or four points against you, City and Arsenal.

"So it's still a long way to go. Also in the Europa League, in the semi-finals or final you will face some very good teams..."

Salah - who returned from injury in midweek and is "ready" for Sunday's game at Anfield - has a very good record against Manchester City in Liverpool colours.

The Egypt international has scored 11 goals in 19 matches against Pep Guardiola's side, including six goals in the previous nine Premier League meetings between the two title rivals.

"I just feel myself in that game, in the big games you just want to play and enjoy," he said when asked about why he enjoys playing Man City so much.

"I usually just have one defender against me, not two or three. The game is open and I just love the games where I can feel myself. The big players have to step up in the big games and show quality.

"It [City] is an unbelievable team and an unbelievable coach. They have dominated the league for a few years and we have always fought with them.

"You go to the game and you just feel like it's a six points game, not just a three points game.

"We have a good chance, we play at home, everybody will be excited, the atmosphere will be unbelievable as usual. We just have to focus on our game and try to win the game."

This season has marked a remarkable improvement for Liverpool under Klopp. The Reds finished in fifth place last season and missed out on Champions League football, but despite losing the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino in the summer, Klopp has managed to rebuild his side into a title-challenging team.

"To be fair, I am not really surprised," said Salah when asked if this season has gone the way it has. "In the beginning of the season and pre-season we could see the quality that we have.

"Of course, we miss a lot of good players but I could see the players the club bought were unbelievable and want to achieve something.

"I could see the quality in pre-season and I was really, really positive about it and I thought: we are going to win something.

Fernando Torres has revealed his pride at seeing Mohamed Salah establish himself as ‘one of the best players of the last 10 years’ and among the greatest ever at Liverpool

Torres and Salah were once teammates at Chelsea as the latter made his first steps in English football back in 2014, and have remained in touch since.

Like most people, Torres has been blown away by the levels Salah has reached following his move to Anfield in 2017.

With 207 goals in 337 appearances, the Egyptian currently sits fifth on the Reds’ all-time top scorers list and has a games-to-goals ratio that surpasses many of the club’s great forwards – Torres included.

“We were teammates at Chelsea and I’m really, really happy for him,” Torres told Liverpoolfc.com. “I’m in touch with him many times and I’m really happy that he breaks all my records!

“I remember when he came to England and he was very young and didn’t have the minutes he deserved. He had to move to Italy and prove himself and find a special club for a special player.

“You can see the results of what he did by himself. For me, [he is a] top player and one of the best players in the last 10 years. I always say this, [he is] my favourite player [and] I put him among the best players in the world in the last 10 years.

“You can see what Liverpool managed to win and you know the club is fighting for everything and I’m sure he is one of the main reasons. I’m really proud of him because I know how difficult it was for him to come to England and time proved he was a special player and just needed a special club like Liverpool to trust him, and he showed what he can do.

“I was really happy when he signed his new contract to keep playing for Liverpool [in 2022]. He’s going to be one of the best players in Liverpool history, I’m sure. He is already but still he has many things to do.”

Torres has also played alongside another member of Jürgen Klopp’s current Reds squad, briefly linking up with a young Diogo Jota during his second spell at Atletico Madrid in 2016.

“I remember when Diogo came,” Torres said. “He was really young and came from Pacos de Ferreira as one of these young talents who joined the pre-season in Atletico’s first team and everybody is expecting big things from them.

“At the end of the pre-season he left [for FC Porto] but you could see something special in this young lad. I’m really happy for him, how he’s doing now in his time in England.

“Moving to Liverpool was a big step for him. Now you can see the kind of player he is. I remember that small period of time we played together and I’m so proud of what he did after that because it’s not easy to come to Atletico and leave on loan, and you have to prove yourself in different places.”

Torres made an emotional return to Anfield last weekend, scoring in front of the Kop as Liverpool FC Legends defeated Ajax Legends in the eighth annual charity game, raising money for LFC Foundation.

The 40-year-old, who scored 81 goals in 142 appearances for the Reds between 2007 and 2011, is currently embarking on a new career in coaching.

Torres manages Atletico’s U19 team and hopes one day to emulate some of his former coaches, such as Rafael Benitez and Diego Simeone.

He also, of course, has a lot of respect for the work of Klopp.

“I like more the English style – the transition game and the press and to play quick and sharp,” he said. “That’s why I’m a big fan of Jürgen since he was in Dortmund.

“I was really happy when I saw him signing for Liverpool because you could see from Klopp [that] there is a connection with the supporters – he did it in Mainz in Germany, he did it in Dortmund and Liverpool is even more special. The connection from the players, the coaches and the supporters is amazing. You can see after nine seasons what he did and I think he’s special.

“I met him a few times when they came to Madrid and I also follow Pep Lijnders. I read his book and I can see many things they do daily and it’s a big inspiration. Hopefully I have the chance to meet them and to talk with them and see what they are doing.

“When you see a Jürgen Klopp team, you know the way they are going to perform. There is one style – this heavy-metal football – and I love that. The difficult thing is: how do you train that? Hopefully I can find out one day.”

Torres says he has also been delighted to see the progress of so many young players at Liverpool this season – players he came across earlier in their journey.

“I remember playing against Liverpool in the [UEFA] Youth League three years ago,” he added. “In that squad I played against [Jarell] Quansah, [Bobby] Clark, [Conor] Bradley, many of the players that you can see now in the first team.

“It’s really nice to see the players when they were young and now they are in the first team and doing the job they are doing. It’s really nice for the coaches to be part of that.”

He continued: “I was one of those players that said I will never be a coach! But look at me now, I’m trying!

“I’m enjoying a lot, learning a lot in the Atletico Madrid academy. It’s my third season in the U19s and I feel that I can help young players because I was there once and I’m trying to help them.

“You can see now that we have Pablo Barrios in the first team of Atletico – he was with us two years ago and I’m really proud of him. You can feel that you are part of the development of the players. This is really nice.

“I’m trying to find my own way but always looking at the best. I’m lucky enough to have fantastic managers in my career – Rafael Benitez, Luis Aragones in Spain, [Jose] Mourinho, [Carlo] Ancelotti, Simeone. I learn a lot from each of them and now I try to do things my own way.”

During the Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester United, Mohamed Salah's penalty marks his sixth goal at Old Trafford, the most of any visiting player in Premier League history.

Mohamed Salah: Liverpool expect forward to stay amid transfer speculation over Saudi Pro League interest

Salah, 31, will enter the final year of his contract this summer and there has been renewed speculation about a potential move to Saudi Arabia.

However, Salah has given no indication that he wishes to leave and Liverpool are not planning to sell.

It is expected that Salah's future will be addressed once sporting director Richard Hughes officially starts work in the role and after Jurgen Klopp's successor - set to be Feyenoord boss Arne Slot - is appointed.

Salah and Klopp's touchline spat during Saturday's 2-2 draw against West Ham and the forward's dip in form have only added fuel to the fire around his future at Anfield.

Sports pundit Jamie Carragher said after last week's Merseyside derby defeat that Salah's been a "shadow of himself for a lot of this season" and raised the possibility of the forward being sold.

"There is a real discussion for the new manager about what the future holds for Mo Salah - it's the first time we've asked that question," Carragher told Sky Sports.

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville:

"I was at the Merseyside derby, and I've done a lot of Liverpool games recently and Salah's not at his level. He's been an amazing player and is an amazing player, but he was massively off it in the Merseyside derby.

"I mean, he didn't touch the ball in the first half. What was noticeable, he's right in front of me up against Mykolenko, I can't remember him getting the ball. I think we showed that he had about five to six touches after 30-odd minutes.

"He wasn't in the game, they weren't getting him in the game. But Mo Salah usually gets in the game.

"In the second half when Ashley Young comes on and actually goes to the left back for Mykolenko, who picked up that knock, and you're thinking 'right, OK. Here we go. He'll fancy this, 1-0 down and Liverpool fighting to keep themselves in the title race. Local derby'.

"Mo Salah's just hit a brick wall. You've got be careful, there was a player out here [in the north London derby] called Son that I think hit a brick wall probably about 18 months ago, where he looked like he was gone and he was struggling.

"These players play so much football they play so consistently and Salah has been almost ever-present for like six or seven years. There just comes a point whereby you need a break."

Mohamed Salah was "out of order" for arguing with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on the touchline during Saturday's 2-2 draw at West Ham United, says former Premier League striker Chris Sutton.

Salah had been dropped for the game and clashed with Klopp as he prepared to come on as a 79th-minute substitute.
The draw leaves Liverpool, who are out of the Europa League, five points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Sutton felt the incident did not reflect well on the 31-year-old, who is the Reds' top scorer this season with 24 goals but has not been at his best in recent games.

"I didn’t like it but I think Mo Salah is the one who was out of order," Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club.
"He is no different to any of his Liverpool team-mates and the truth is his form hasn’t been good since he has come back from the injury.

"It is nothing against Salah and the brilliant player he has been at Liverpool. He has been phenomenal but I think there is a line and unfortunately for him he crossed it."

Klopp, who is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, brought Salah to Anfield in June 2017 and he has consistently been one of his most influential players.

But Sutton believes Klopp was well within his rights to choose the first XI he felt gave Liverpool the best chance of securing victory.

“You can’t live on the past," added Sutton.

“It is the here and now and Klopp decided to leave him out. That is his prerogative. He is the manager and Salah is no different to the rest of his team-mates.”

'Things will never be the same again' - Can Liverpool thrive after Klopp?

Salah seemed frustrated at something Klopp said to him as he was about to be brought on, and seemed to want to prolong the altercation before team-mates Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomez shepherded him away.
