Not sure about you guys but I am really looking forward to Abbass and Hasnain share the new ball today. I know it may sound a bit premature to open this thread now as they havent bowled together yet, but for me this is the new ball combo which should lead the attack in the WC.

Watch the space!

Abbas should be nowhere near the LOI set up. Its only a matter if time that he goes for over 80 in his 10.

80 in 10 overs is an absolute norm nowadays.

If he can chip in with key wickets with the new ball every now and then and keep things tight, he would have already surpassed Amir.

80 in 10 overs is not the norm LMAO, whens the last time Amir got hit for 80 in 10?

I didnt mean it literally. Good bowlers do get smashed around nowdays.

Abbas is yet to be smashed though. Lets see how he does today.

Most importantly i would like to see him moving the ball away from RHB if he can't make it away with the new ball then no use of him in odis

Abbas is getting exposed in Test cricket. The ease with which New Zealand South Africa tamed him was worrying.

I am less hopeful of him delivering in ODIs than I was 3-4 months ago.

Folks this is absolutely a dead pancake of a wicket..feel sorry for abbas and hasnain

I have always maintained the Abbas is a poor bowler and has little future in International Cricket, especially LOI's. He should be nowhere near the ODI team or hogging a spot in the PSL.

His fluked success early on vs Australia is primarily because of their woes outside Australia, add to that they were missing their key players and playing a bunch of newbies. We're talking about a team that loses to Bangladesh and gets whitewashed by Sri Lanka with their FIRST XI.

Abbas in the ODI team is taking 10 steps back, I'd rather have Aizaz Cheema over him.

You deserve a lot of credit for sticking to your guns and not caving under pressure. He is certainly no Asif and was cannon fodder against New Zealand and South Africa who batted with discipline against him.

Australia probably took him lightly and over-attacked his medium pace bowling.

Abbas is okay, he is not the main problem. Amir is the problem for our bowling issues. He is presented as a huge new ball threat, but very rarely delivers. He has a strike rate of 121 in odis since the CT. Which is absolutely pathetic for a front line bowler.

Abbas's freakish teens average was always going to come down at some point. I wouldn't judge him from the SAF Test where he was half fit.

But he needs to develop his outswinger and add other tricks such as slower balls, cutters etc to sustain his international career.
