how tall is amir? looks pretty average height there
According to Wikipedia, he is 6'1.
He isn't 6 1 , 5 11 is just about the right estimate.
He is atleast 6'1
County Cricket is a bit over rated for fast bowlers. Junaid Khan, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Sami, Rana Naveed have all had bowling stints in county cricket but it did nothing for their careers to be honest. A season or two of county cricket is only useful for familiarizing oneself with English conditions.
It's neither over or underrated, this is a good chance for him to test his skills against quality players of lateral movement and access to highly qualified coaches to refine his action and strengthen his physique.County Cricket is a bit over rated for fast bowlers. Good point. There's no question that county cricket helped Wasim, Waqar and others in the 90s but times have changed. The game is a lot more international now so cricketers have a chance to improve in that capacity even without country
Nonetheless it's still a great opportunity for Amir to get some good cricket in given that we don't have any cricket for months
Middlesex full of hacks or what? They're all just swinging and giving their wickets away.
Could be a racrical ploy to score some quick runs then put them in to face the new ball during the session where the lights start to take effect.
Ideally you'd want some runs on the board first. They started swinging before 200.
It's got them up to 250 though so far. Not a clue what the pitch is like but Chelmsford has a reputation for green seamers in the longer formats so I guess we'll see if it pays off if that is the intention.
If Amir can get a stint in Shield cricket next, that'd be great.
If I am not wrong only a handful of Pakistani's have played Shield Cricket,Younis being the most recent.
Tylical Amir performance he seems content with his 2 and 3 fers he will never achieve much with this attitude.I am sure he was running in with his loser attitude bowling low 130's just happy to collect the paycheck which he missed out on for 5 years

Thank you for proving my point. The indian game shows he has it in him to be a top 3 pacer in the world even Azhar mahmood pointed out to him that he coasts in most of the games operating at 70% of his capacity.Yes its all very nice to be hailed a big match player however he would be.much more useful to Pakistan if he keeps a similar intensity in 90% of his games rather then wait for a big game which may come once in 5 years.Picked up Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli which no other bowling line up came even remotely close to dismissing for such low score.
I hope he keeps picking up these "useless" 3-fers to give shut up call to arm chair experts.
The figures shows its a typical Amir performance post ban.no doubt you watched you were there on the ground and watched every ball

Essex playing really well with 365/0. Looks like it was a batting friendly track, which shows Amir really bowled well and Simon Harmer admitted that.
2nd innings:
Amir 0-31 after 14 overs.
Doesn't seem like pink ball is doing much.
Oh God Amir is as mediocre as they come. The CT final was a fluke. Amir is a fluke. He should be dropped and banned.

Essex win right at the death with Harmer taking 9/95.

Can't believe that he isn't playing for South Africa. Unfortunately, owing to the racist quota system, they're forced to pick the mediocrity of Maharaj, Phangiso and even Peterson.
Honestly, Maharaj isn;t bad but seems Harmer is a beast
Just looking good on dustbowls. Trust me.

Yes, what an outrage.
Simon Harmer, Bowling Ave List A 40, FC 30
Keshav Maharaj Bowling Ave List A 28, FC 26
How dare they select the consistently better performer?
I'd say you have a bee in your bonnet these days.
Look I agree that he has better numbers and what not, but from what I've seen of him, I'm not convinced. I have no motive out of this. I just personally really liked Harmer on that India tour and he looked like a bright prospect, he's proving me right now - unfortunately, a little too late for the poor lad.
Not entirely sure on the full Surrey squad but I believe he'll be bowling at a top 4 of Roy, Finch, Pietersen, Sangakarra so should be interesting.
neither Pietersen or Sangakkara are in the squad for Surrey
Sangakarra must still be injured. Not a clue why Pietersens not playing, was in a hospitality box at lords yesterday so he's in the country.
