I meant potential wise.

Finn is good but is too erratic and seems mentally weak. Hazelwood has brilliant line and lengh, also can pick up wickets and uses his height well. Has much more potential than Finn

Amir isn't a shadow of himself.

I guess a professional player can't make a good come back after 5 years of suspension like this. He'll be turned into a mediocre player.

Sad but this is what we are witnessing now.

He was good in 2009-10, but wasn't exceptional except one series. People were calling him the next Wasim, on potential, not on results. So it would not be fair to say that he is a shadow of himself. With the right conditions, he has shown that he can still be menacing (Asia Cup vs India). But he does need conditions in his favour. On general/average conditions he is performing as he had performed generally in 09-10 period (minus the England series).

He is still a good bowler, possibly one of the best in sub con, but expecting him to be the next Wasim is setting yourself up for dissappointment.

Other sub con bowlers, like Shami, if they bowl well consistently, can take the mantle of the best sub con bowler from Amir.

When Wasim himself thinks that way about Amir then how come you think we'll be disappointed. Just wait till Aus-NZ series and we'll see.

Btw Amir was good in the UAE. Almost every commentator said that Amir adapted very quickly (1 innings is all it took) to the conditions but alas the dropped dollies. The good thing about Amir is that when he is not taking wickets then he will stay economical and will never release the pressure on the batsmen.

Interesting times ahead. Will be great to watch the battle.

For now, Hazlewood is performing better.

Right now HW is definitely bowling better, but writing off Amir would be a mistake. He is getting better, next year would be break through year for Amir, he has a county season, that can help me find his lost swing and will get fitter with more pace. Wasim Akram was different bowler after County season, Pakistani bowlers learn swing from County Cricket, I expect same from Amir. This year we have too many tests(9 in 6 months, lot from Pakistani Standard), that too in testing conditions...

Why to compare a team's 3rd or 4th best bowler with a world class performer???
You should compare Hazlewood with Imran Jr...
