The conclusion of world cup will most likely see the end of Sarfraz's captaincy. The million dollar question right now is that who will lead Pakistan after Sarfraz's departure.
Some names thrown around are:
1. Imam (Bad idea, there is already too much pressure on him due to his association with Inzy)
2. Babar (Very timid cricketer, almost like Azhar Ali)
3. Imad Wasim (Poor fitness and I am not sure if he should be in the long term plans)
4. Mohammad Aamir (Poor fitness and looked very uninterested before the world cup. Besides, can he handle the load of playing every game as captain?)
This leads me to believe that Mohammad Rizwan is the ideal candidate at this time.
1. He has dual role in the team which means his spot is almost guaranteed.
2. He just turned 27 and should be able to play the next world cup in 4 years.
3. He's one of the fittest if not the fittest player in Pakistan which shows he's more professional than the current captain.
4. He already has some leadership experience having led Pakistan A.
5. He's controversy free and someone that most can get behind due to his likeable personality.
This said, Pakistan should groom another wicket keeper batsman with Rizwan to share his load. At no cost, should he keep wickets in all 3 formats. I think only a backup wicket keeper will make this idea work.
