Why is Pakistan not playing a hard hitting batsman as an opener? Thats the main problem
Who's that hard hitting batsman?

T20s:-
Top 3:-
Babar
Fakhar/Sharjeel (dunno what he is up to)
Rizwan
ODIs:-
Top 3:-
Rizwan
Fakhar
Babar
That's the best bet, however as long as Pakistan don't find good middle order batsman like KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav, the problem won't be solved.
Sharjeel have SR of 133 and avg around 22.xx.. Coming back from ban it's even poor I believe.. How he's a hard hitter or better than Rizwan in terms of SR?
I agree that there’s is lack of quality in options. But the problem was worsened by team 11.
They could have given Azam another game. He was dropped on just 1 last game (first game there weren’t enough balls). Tad bit harsh this.
-either don’t pick Sarfaraz as MO option or play him. He’s got a decent record in Eng
-Imad should have come ahead or Shadab.
-Mohammad Wasim Jnr can swing
If they were desperate to drop Azam, they could have even seriously considered slotting in Sharjeel somehow (1 down?). He’s not the 2017 level but he’s done well against spin specially legspin
Players like Rizwan won't win you matches Against full strength lineups of top teams, as simple as it gets.
But you don't have a better alternative, the template which Pakistan can follow in Wt20 is :
Lay a platform of 60-1 after 8 overs and then fill your middle order with pinch hitters and go gung ho. But that is very risky coz your middle order isn't really dependable.
Also, as Mohd Amir is no more a part of your bowling lineup 160 - 170 runs won't be easy to defend.

Tough situation for him.
Lost his skipper early, wickets kept on falling around him and the other top 5 batsmen scored a combined 51 runs off 52 balls.
I agreeCorrect - That's why we have "Impact" players like Sohaib, Asif and Azam Khan...
It was a poor knock eventually. He failed to accelerate in the end to help Pakistan post a more competitive total.
By modern standards, if a T20 opener carries the bat he must have hit a century. 76 is well below par.
Agree , if a t20 opener cannot score 15-20 runs/over at the end of the inning , its not a good inning and can lead to team's downfall.

Definitely get on Rizwan and not the players who literally did nothing.
This place never ceases to amaze me.
why,any particular reason?
why,any particular reason?
He is punching above his weight but he is not the dependable player to be in top 4 of a batting line up in any format. Its like Shoab Malik stated playing well so Pakistan played him at 3.
Rizwan needs to bat at 5 or 6
Pakistan team cannot get better until their fans get better.
For as long, people of Pakistan keep vouching for mediocrity, this vicious cycle of respectable losses, and unpredictable cornered tigers tag will continue.
Modern day professionalism demands a no excuse killer menality to win at all cost. Team games have changed so much and so has the analysis. Sports analysis of today is far more unforgiving than what it used to be 20 years ago or even 10 years ago.
The ''context'' is so much more meaningful now than it has ever been.
If anyone is judging numbers purely on face value in 2021, god save humanity from these khooh de daddoo.
That was one of the best t20 knocks played by our batsmen, very mature, the rest of our big hitters, 3d players, impact players, couldn't even get bat on ball, yet he took us to a score on the board at least.
People saying we wont win matches with rizwan at the top against full standard teams are right, he will set the platform nicely and the rest of our brain dead bunch will throw the situation away , like they have countless times before .
Rizwan only player including babar based on current form that can walk into any xi right now including india, yet we have our deluded experts calling for him to be dropped![]()
I reserve my doubt about this. No disrespect to Rizwan and thanks for the back-handed complement.
if he had indias quality middle order behind him he could easily take risabh pants place.
Ok we will see about that in a few years time.
I won't take Ben Stokes + Jofra Archer in exchange for Rishab Pant let alone Rizwan lolwut.
I would not take Kohli (averaging 29 for past 2+ years) + Pujara (Discount Azhar Ali) for Rizwan either.

Even at his worst (in the last tw0 years) Kohli has done better than Rizwan in lois that says a lot about him.
Pujara is done and dusted just like your no impact Ali, don't give two hoots about either of them.
You can take Manish Pandey too, he can easily replace anyone not named babar in your odi team.
He is an anchor too.
Pakistan have two good anchors- Babar and Rizwan.
But they need some X-factor who drinks coffee and is a good batting wicket bully but struggles on slow wickets.
46(36) is pretty average innings.
