What's new

Moin Khan's son Azam Khan is a talented player after all

Have you seen him bat ? the guy can not only tonk them into the stands but can rotate the strike at will as well which none of our up coming players are able do and he is not a bad wicket keeper also, just that if he can sort out his fitness and loose some kilos, he can a very good wicket keeping batsman for Pakistan.

Can you tell us where his FC or list A performances are so that we can judge for ourselves.

yes indeed.

53 runs in 4 List A innings at an average of 13.25.

He should already be playing for Pakistan :)

And then Nadeem omar will be moaning about their loss while they once again took Watson and Rossow.

Mohammad Shahzad is also a fat wicket keeper who pretty much always gives Afghanistan a flying start or can take the game away from the opposition in a matter of overs. His keeping is decent too. Azam Khan should look to him for inspiration.

Too small a sample size to pass a judgement. Have seen him bat twice on tv and he looked pretty organised to me, not saying that he should be drafted into the team right away, all I am saying is that he could be a good investment provided he gets his fitness sorted.

In one breath you say it's too small a sample size, but in the next you wrote he can a very good wicket keeping batsman for Pakistan.

I am surprised that Moin allowed him to have this kind of weight. Moin himself was a very fit guy.

Well, like I said I saw him bat a couple of times and he looked an organised player to me who with time could improve but his biggest down side is his fitness. Surprisingly though he ran a lot faster for his weight. However, the way people are bashing him here makes it appear as if he is a complete dud with the bat. I am not debating whether his inclusion in the PSL is influenced or not but all I am trying to say is that he's better player than what he is made to look here.

Waqar on commentary a couple of days ago: "Doesn't matter what you eat as long as you train hard" :|

Waqar is a cricket bowler from the 90s, he is definately not the go to guy for the science behind weightloss. Its basic commonsense, If you eat more calories then you expend then you will put on fat.

I think we need to have a separate thread on fat jokes for Moin’s large failson and POTW should now be awarded on the basis of entries to that thread

84 off 56 balls in the Karachi Premier League.

Some massive sixes.

Reminded me of inzi when coming down the track.

Just watched his innings of 84 and WOW. He was playing shots all around the field. Looked impressive, still overweight though I don’t think that’ll change.

Yessssssssss found the diamond we been looking for, Need of the hour..

Check if any other officials Son/cousin/Grand Son/Nephew or close firends can hold a bat or know what a ball is even if they don't just fast track em to the team... Do it now.....:inzi2:inzi2

There's nothing wrong in suggesting that he should work on his fitness but people were writing him off without giving him a chance just because he was overweight, as if getting fit is something impossible.

Ridiculous to say the least. Our talent pool is not stocked enough that we ditch good players because of their fitness.

Totally agree with mamoon here
Can't really ditch him he is a clean hitter and the only one we have.

Hopefully yesterday's game will bring him some confidence
