moisture content

Can you help? I'm concerned that in order to get thicker edges for less weight (for example CA) bats have a lower moisture content which makes the bat more brittle and crack so won't last as long.

Has anyone tested this or any thoughts on it?

Well its give and take. Over dried willow will mean thick edges but will potentially not last as long.
Its best to oil these bats and give them a good knocking in, then put an anti-scuff sheet on.

As for moisture content there will be less I suspect but not too sure for certain.
