Thought id post em up.
Still knocking both of them in.
Found the MB Bubber Sher standard grip to be a joke way to thin for my hands so I added a Slazenger chevron grip and now its perfect. Added a toe guard which is a but rough but it will do the job.

The Puma is a Scultara Reserve. Got it for a really good price Apparently there's only 200 made each year of these but im skeptical of that. . It's also double gripped with another standard Puma Scultara grip. Its not as thick as the Bubber but the ping its twice as strong its actually heavier than the SS Ranger but due to the balance and that fact its a grade 1 willow it feels noticeably lighter. If I can't hit a six with this bat this upcoming season ill be disappointed. A toe gaurd will be going on it soon as I generally play on wet pitches due to Victoria's lovely weather. I didnt play last season but I think 8 games (close to half a season) were washed out completely.

SS Ranger does a good job and looks better in the pics than it does in real life.

good bats m8. Nice grains on them too . Yea last season was a bit of a dud. Hope this season the weather treats us better. Which club r u at?

Some good bats you have mate, I quite like the Puma :)

Puma bats are not massive but they are very good and effective, meaning they play extremely well!

Didn't your Bubber Sher have some sort of shoe goo type material on it (maroon or black colour)?

I really like profile of the Puma. The last picture where you can see the toe of the bats tells a lot. Look at how high the spine is on the MB Bubber Sher. But so much wood has been scooped out and given a convex shape. The Puma in contrast has a lower spine and much more wood all round making a concave shape. Definitely I would expect a better ping from this bat. The SS is an in-between profile. Nice collection!!

It does yes, its black in colour I didn't think it would be good enough so i added the toe guard for that extra piece of mind.

ads2000 ill be playing the Central Gippsland Cricket Association most likely for in good old C grade and B if I can pull my finger out.

Just did the 2 bats on on some scales and the puma was 2.65lbs it said 1204 grams. When the sticker said 2.9lbs when I bought it and the MB was 2.7lbs which had 2.9 on the sticker when I bought it also. These were done on cheap digital kitchen scales so I might buy a decent set and re-do them.

Some fine bats you got there
Hope you make some runs, Good luck man.

The "Puma" has a very nice shape, but i'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a "Scultura"

That's the top Puma model over here in Australia, it was last seasons model and they have changed the name this season to 'Platinum Reserve'. So it's not a fake like I suggest you are saying.

Langer what bats are you preparing for your season?

I will be getting a Reserve/Legend Combo off of James and Andy.

At the moment though I have a L&W SR and a SS Gladiator that is stickered as a carbo firefly, which are both for sale as the middle's are just too low, so the money from them will go to funding the Reserve/Legend. I have already sold the SR, so now just got to do the SS and can then order my Lavers.

How are your Laver's going?

Ah okay, what are your specs for them? Standard shape for both ?

I haven't used my Laver much but the Legend is improving as you play more and more with it.

How are your e41 pads going? They look amazing! Which gloves did you go for along the pads?

I will be going for a higher middle (extended as possible), around 2lb7ozs, normal oval handle and lamitoed. Will be getting a deal on them, not as good as the UK one, but still pretty good.

You do have a lot of bats, do you get to use them all, or do you stick to a small group and then use the others once your current group are done?

They are good, I haven't actually got to wear them yet, but I will tomorrow as we have our winter cricket semi-final. I didn't get any gloves yet cause I need to buy the bats as atm I am using my old bat which is past it's prime but I have no choice. So once I sell the SS I can order my Reserve/Legend combo and then get some new gloves.

Make sense, will you get both of same shape/profile?

I try to use which ever bat I can, I do try to use all of them.

I have UK Legend ones and they are probably the best pads I have ever worn in my life.

Out of curiosity which gloves do you fancy in getting?

Greetings. As requested cover here are the Kookaburra ccx900 gloves. Also Uploaded the Slaz V12 ultimate. Was at cricket sale in Melbourne and they had Kookaburra Kahuna, Blade, Ice in the players, High end Puma Claibre, Iridium and GN's evo and powerbows 1000's and I personally found the V12 to pickup/felt the best so i bought it 60% off its original price. Its pretty Light only 2.7lbs but its not bad decent amount of ping and the middle is quite good. Sorry they arent in order but ive had enough trouble with photo bucket!

Thanks for posting the pictures mate!

Those gloves look amazing, I used to like 2010 model Blade 950's but seeing these I think these are better.

One question regarding the gloves on left gloves there is a small tag, what does that say ? I'm unable to read that :(

The bat look amazing, for 2.7 it looks quite massive and it has lovely looking face as well.

Do you mind telling how is the ping?

Sorry for asking a picture but is it possible for you to post picture of top of the handle? I know you do 12 hours shift so there is really no rush in getting those pictures up.

Thanks!

There good gloves heaps of room and flexible.
Slazenger are made in India, along with the Puma I have also. I think most of the mainstream brands bats seem to be made in India now. Myabe not GM or Gray nicholls though?
That tag says airflow meshing as quick single said

Ah okay cheers mate.

GM are made in English except Kashmiri Willows.

Gray Nicolls are Indian made as well.

Do you mean all Gray Nicolls are made in India? I recall communicating with Gray Nicolls once and they said that their bats are made in England, India, South Africa, or Australia (not sure which one is made where though).

I'm pretty sure all of Gray Nicolls bats apart from Pro bats are made in India.

So only Pro bats are made in England.

After 7 weeks of waiting its finally here!
Worth the wait, I did get a good deal so I can't complain. They did say 4-5 week turn around plus a week of knocking in by them (im over knocking in bats) 2.8lbs, double griped, great balance and I'm really looking forward to giving a good in the nets

Looks lovely mate, definitely worth the wait.

Not being arrogant but when we interviewed James Laver he said that over knocking is not good so perhaps not do it.

Hows the pick up on them?

These Laver shapes are growing on me, they are look amazing.

What I really like about Lavers is their handles, AMAZING!

Also how do you compare Laver with your other bats in terms of feel, ping etc?

Cheers

Thanks guys
They knocked it in for me so that's caused a few more days for me to wait. I'm sure they would of done what was required. Actual delivery didn't take long to come from NZ to Australia!

The grips are great even with 2 its not overly thick like some other grips out there. The Velvet bat cover is a nice touch.

The handle is an oval. Its a bigger handle than the puma but its oval shape is more narrow/skinnier than other bats but feels great though.

Weight feels a touch heavier than the other bats and its around the same weights as my others. As the shape from the handle is very slim then raises very highly in the center and then very slim again all the weight is essentially in the middle and the balance is great despite this.

Its not a bowed blade either all my other bats are so I'm keen to see how this plays as I've been hitting the ball up a bit, bowed blades I've heard can cause this ( My form is the major factor but a different bat may change it) so im looking forward to see

Ping and this is just hitting it with a ball up and down is very good. The Puma probably has a bigger ping area but that comes down to the shape of the bat. The laver has a much higher ping but it's not as broad as the puma.

When I give it a hit in the nets I'll get a better idea, but so far so good.

Sorry for replying late mate.

Anyways, I am glad you are liking your Laver, they are some stunning bats. Once they are fully knocked they are real weapon to be honest. In 2011 season one of my team mate would play effortless shots for boundary with his Laver. They will take time to open up but once they do they will fly I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I think the profile would be quite suitable for Australian bouncy track as swell seems a bit higher..

Do update us on its performance if you don't mind.

Think he meant that he can't be bothered knocking in bats anymore when he said he is over knocking in bats.

Ironhide your PB is as good as Langers, lovely mate.

How is the ping on it?

PS: Your Kookaburra Gloves look nice too! However, I thought CCX had different design like sausage style, anyone know which ones are they?

The pro version of the gloves are the sausage finger style, whereas all stores sell the split finger version. I think his are the CCX900. I was lucky enough to come across Lorimers ebay page and they had the pro version for sale, as they have a good relationship with Kookaburra and because the CCX range isn't being used next year, so I bought 2 pairs of them. They are very nice and I will chuck a review up soon.

True, I didn't knew they were Professional players one but I will look forward and wait for your review.

Iron man any update on your James Laver&Wood cricket bat?

Hey silencer, Havn't been able to give it a good go yet. Last 3 weeks of cricket have been washed out... the weather can't make its mind up. Been using the Puma and the bubber sher for this season so far. I'm impressed with both bats. Found the bubber sher great for front foot drives as I open the batting most of the time its been great. The puma is a great all round bat.
Most annoying thing all the grounds we play on are slow its pretty wet this time of year. So not matter how well timed the shot is if its on the ground it wont go far.

Hows how our Canadian Grounds are throughout the season :))

A perfectly timed cover drive is just for one runs and it is so frustrating to be honest. Then you slog and get out
