Wow this is great! Really impressive stuff bro. How long you been practicing. Looks like youve improved since the previous video. Great bounce too especially with the top spinners.

Need more pace on your legspin. If you bowl at your current pace, then you need to add more revs and really get the ball to rip from the surface. Need a bit more energy towards the crease, finish your action stronger. Use your legs to really catapult the body forward. You might lose a bit of accuracy in the start but in a couple of months, you'll be bowling rippers with pinpoint accuracy.

Your googly needs to be higher arm, very difficult to turn it with a low arm action unless you have rubbery wrists(a la Qadir).

Top spin legbreaks - 1 and 3 in particular were beautifully bowled. Above the eye-line yet delivered at a good pace. If you get those to land consistently on middle-and-off, I'd have no choice but to respect it with a forward defence.

Thanks, no improvement lol. This was my first practice since the last video. Hard to analyze with no stumps.

It rained the day before and out of the 5 nets, this was one had the most acceptable bounce. I do need to use my legs to generate more umpff like you said but long run up doesn't help me, it makes lose concentration lol. The speed is not a worry. The person that was recording the video was standing outside the net, there was a good 10 to 12 feet distance between where the stumps would have been and the person. Hence the ball looks slower and hard to pick which ones would have gone over the batsmen's eye line. Googly needs a bit more umpf like you said. I'm happy with my release for two reasons. One, when the arm goes higher for my Googly the batsmen picks it and two for some weird reason my head falls away when I go higher with my googly, making me lose accuracy. I vary my Googly with top spin, scrambled seam and traditional seam position to make sure batsmen aren't too comfortable. I need to get myself a set of spring stumps, it is difficult see how much I'm turning or not turning without a set of stumps. I need to practice often, I'm still inaccurate. Thanks for your input I really appreciate it,.

Then you'd want to bowl a flatter trajectory(and fuller in length) with a bit more speed through the air. Slightly wider of the crease as well, if you can manage, to create a more threatening angle keeping the batsman honest, your release point will also be outside the vertical eye-line.

A flighted googly that doesn't turn much is very easy to negotiate it unless you can get it to dip consistently.

Amazing stuff i remember you telling me once you have seen the U-19 Canadian spinners ,Just assumed as in you saw-saw not like really analyzed.

Thivagar, don't know much about Leg-spin bowling, but I'm a fan man! Good luck!

It does turn, the googly here looks weird because of the different camera angle. I always try to make almost all of my deliveries dip, batsmen can't pick up dips. Tahir's googly is a great example, everyone picks his googly from his hand but they can't play him because his googly dip as he scrambles it. If he were to release few of his googlies with upright seam it will bounce a bit more as well. Not a fan of darting it. I need loads of practice.

I'm pretty alright for someone that didn't play cricket club till 20. Late-a vandhalum latest-a varuvamlaa :2ar15smil

Thanks :yk

What is revs?

Are you a professional coach?

sensible-indian-fan SL_Fan you played cricket with current SL players, what is your feedback :yk ?

Hey Thivagar....terribly sorry for posting so late in this thread even though you asked me several days back.

It was on my mind but somehow kept delaying it.

Nice bowling mate. I am no expert on bowling so you won't get good insights from my side.

The 3 dots are supposed to the stumps rights....some of the balls are short pitched and coupled with a touch slower speed, it can be easier to play. You are probably working on that I guess. Flight is good man. Liked your google too.

As for my close friend...he took up red ball cricket post college so even though I used to regularly meet him after college, I never saw him bowl spin with the red ball. He was a pacer in college days. Haha.

Maybe I will pass the video links to him and ask for his opinion (since you seemed to want to know it).

No problem, yup those would be the stumps. It is hard to analyze without the stumps. It would be awesome if you can pass the video over to him, i'd really appreciate that. I don't care about the accuracy as I was jut messing around here. I found someone to record so I used them. Hard to see the drift and dip since all the balls I used are virtually no life in them.

Sure will do.

What balls you used?

They seem to bounce a lot like cosco.

I generally get good bounce, but this may have been the pitch. I was using one Platypus balls and few unknown cheap balls. I played mostly with cricketers in their late 20s and early 30s, so they dont' care too much if I take a ball home as long as they aren't Kookaburra:yk.

This ball is actually pretty hga

You seem to give too much flight, slight reduce it.

Thanks for pointing it out, I didn't notice and I reduced my flight and now I seem to bowl a bit quicker. I was already flighting the ball, then I felt i needed to flight more and it slowed my bowling. Thanks :srt

You have some terrific variations Thivagar !!! work really hard on your stock delivery which is the leg break and as many have pointed out try to give it more revs. The most important thing to do is try to spin the ball as hard as you possibly can and then use that as your foundation to build on when it comes to control. You have a great action! I can see that you're not landing your foot as you release the ball which is great!, it is always important to plant your foot and try to give your follow through as much momentum as possible but always relax and try not to think about it.

A good technique to improve your control is that when you run in try not to make your head movements too turbulent, the way to do that is visualise headbutting someones palm right infront of you but in this case it would be where you'd like to pitch the ball. Never be afraid of flighting the ball even if you get it too full at times, with practice you'll gain more control over it.

Am a leggie myself! but I been out of the game for a while! my stock delivery use to be the googly and I could bowl the slider and top spinner to. However, now just bowling in the backyard, I've lost my googly all of a sudden (it does come out at times randomly but don't turn as much) and my action is just strange it is not what it use to be. Bowling casually now I make use of a tight line, variations in pace and I am able to bowl the toppie. I don't bowl the leg break, think it's due to my elbow position (pointing the sky upon release) which has been the same growing up allowing for the googly, slider and toppie

Thank you, I appreciate it. Need to use the body more. I'm just being lazy instead of giving lot of effort and give proper follow through. The more effort i put in, better the delivery comes out. Need little more pace as well which will be solved as I put in more effort. I do bring my head forward but it is hard to see as I also straighten my head from initial side ways position. I always flight the ball, i started practicing by myself and I ended up flighting the ball a bit too much and I need to tone down a little. I just need a lot of practice, i haven't practiced in 2 weeks. I should have.

Where did you play your cricket ? Googly used to be easier when I was bowling all kinds of deliveries with no knowledge of spin bowling. I was bowling Offies, leggies, carrom ball and googlies. I had a different action for each of them :yk. Now since I'm legit leggie, I can't change my actions much so it is a bit difficult to bowl a good googly. Therefore I bowl a topspin googly and a regular googly to confuse the batsmen but batsmen can pick it most of the time. Little more effort and my googly should have more dip which should put of the batsmen.
