Peshawar Region won the toss and elected to field

Watching the match right now and what a poor way to go Fakhar. Could have easily taken time to hit some form here chasing this meager total.

He has been throwing his wicket away since the Sril lanka series.

What an embarrassingly amateur game this was. If Peshawar would have choked this up it would have been one epic choke.

Negatives:
Everything. How can a team requiring 16 off 18 with 7 wickets in hand end up winning with 2 balls to spare with 3 wickets in hand. How can a bowler like Irfan who is almost going to bowl a double wicket maiden in 18th over ends up bowling a beamer over the batsman's head. The running, panic, noballs, dropped catches all in last 3 overs were very embarrasing to watch.

Positives:
Raza Hasan, this lad is good and we already knew it. Hasan Ali, Shoaib Malik and Sohail Khan dont suffer with the same panic bug the rest of the players suffer with.

Hammad misses out. There was no need to come down the wicket to Tanvir, he usually bowls half volleys, stand and smash

A commendable effort by Khushdil, Mukhtar, et al

Lets see Pindi's response

Good bowling effort by RawalPindi but some of the credit goes to the pitch after rain it is behaving differently, the bowl of Sohail Tanvir is seaming in the 18th over shows a very different nature of the pitch. He bowled well alongwith Asghar. Was waiting for another blitz by Awais Zia/Mukhtar Ahmed combination unfortunately the pitch is'nt helpful for a T20 standard match. Mukhtar batted well, Khushdil shah looks like rhythm batsmen was a complete oposite from the previous match, but all his hits were on mid-wicket and leg. Pitch plus some good strategy on the field by umar Amin (keeping a fielder deep in square leg in first 6 overs) and good bowling on helpful pitch, contributed to a good game between the bat and ball. Sohail Akhtar is a really powerful striker of the ball but he could'nt manage to hit much only 1 six and a boundary. Good effort by Rawalpindi restricting FATA to 160.

Nobody picked nasir but with teams needed to sign 1 more players he will be perfect

Now who is this Nasir Nawaz guy ?

Has he been picked at PSL draft ?

Okay lets break down Nasir Nawaz. I first saw him in last year's domestic T20 and then maybe in Pakistan Cup. Nasir is a pace bowling allrounder who I think has batting as his stronger point.

In terms of batting, he has been sent down at 6/7 and opened today so at the moment he is batting all over positions and there is no fixed position for him at the moment. Having seen his batting I'm most impressed with his balance on the wicket while playing his shots. He certainly prefers pace bowlers to spinners. His backfoot play is very good through both off and leg side. Spinners can tie him down and so can good line and length. He is far from international but could be a very good backup to Fahim.

His bowling is decent too, can clock up to 140 even more on good days. Needs to improve his line and length as he more likely bowls short than good length. Got a good outswinger needs to work with someone like Azhar Mahmood to extract the best out of him.

Overall, he is very impressive and can definitely be given a chance in PSL (if he is selected). One to keep an eye out for.

I haven't watched him bowl. Infact, prior to today, I hadn't watched him batting even. But if his bowling is half as good as his batting, he is the one to keep an eye on.

He has an amazing Hand-Eye coordination. He can become an improved version of Imran nazir wrt batting.

Sohail Akhtar with any handy knock for FATA (20 off 13)- could be a great addition for LQ.

No Ahsan Ali today? Shame.

Umar Amin was looking good scoring 66 (49) but gets out at the wrong time for his team. Advantage FATA.

Why hasn't Usama Mir bowled more today?

It's just incredible how Sohail Tanvir over the past 10 years has not developed a single shot on the off side. He has 0 ability to play through the off side.

Terrible captaincy from Hammad.

FATA's bowling isn't the strongest but they should have from that position.

Sohail tanvir and Nawaz won the match for Rawalpindi.

Funny thing is both Nawaz and Tanvir batted over Fawad Alam and won the match. Whats the point of even selecting Fawad?

Missed his innings, but good to see Khushdil Shah score today. Looked terrible the other day.

Mukhtar with another good innings- happy to see him having a good tournament.

Shame Nauman couldn't fire today.

Dont know why peole rate khushdil shah i have seen him play in psl 4 to 5 matches rubbish batsmen

Pathetic bowling and sloppy fielding by FATA, still Rawalpindi took the match to 20 overs to finish the game.
Iftikhar was proving on what basis he is being favored by Misbah and it has nothing to do with cricket, can't bat, can't bowl, can't field.
Umar Amin isnot a T20 player on any pitch, got out to a loosener giving an easy catch on deep mid-wickt, summed up the bowling of both Sohail akhtar and Ahmed jamal, not one yorker was bowled. All length bowling whenever Rawalpindi run rate climbed over 12 in last 2-3 overs, all 3 bowlers bowled a loosener on which Nawaz or Tanvir latched onto them hitting them for six. In the first ball of the last over, fielder fumbled an easy pick up and throw to concede extra runs . It was an underperformance definitelyor else Pindi would not have made 150+.

You said Umar Amin is not a T20 player but ignored the fact that he scored 66 in 40 odd deliveries and was the main player who even allowed Pindi to chase this target.

He only played one match in the PSL.

Like I said, he looked poor last match. I didn't watch today but he scored 50 (32). I'll wait until I see the highlights before commenting.

Mak36@ Did you get a chance to see nasir nawaz bat?

Picked up length quickly, enjoyed pace on the ball and effortlessly cleared the boundary.

First saw him batting in a grade II match (footage available on Youtube).

Haven't seen him bowl.

Have updated his thread. His development depends on how genuine his age is, but definitely plenty to work with.

ps. put the @ sign before my name, otherwise I won't pick it up.

Would do that in future. Yes i have seen that video too looked really good there too. Yes you are right about his age but i do believe he is around 20 or 21. Hopefully someone picks him in PSL. What do you make out of his technique etc.

Pehle to its 66 off 49 deliveries not 40
He captained well with a good strategy and some tight bowl/field but nothing great with the bat.
Well I've watched the game and his game is not much different then Shoaib Malik only he rotates strike a little more, bring long on up and he will be strangulated easily with fat bowers operating. Piles on a lot of dots. Not a new bowl player.
Was beaten on few dollies of Sohail Akhtar and Ahmed Jamal same would've been despatched for atleast a 2 by an Awais Zia or a Farhan.
One wa a mishit for six over long -off and then got out on a very loose delivery of Ahmed Jamal straight into the lap of the fielder at deepmid-wicket. Hit was so accurate the fielder did'nt have to move much, down his chin.

Some highlights of the day today pathetic PCB wok showing in the very less crowd coming to see the game.
Hasan Ali & Israrullah batting
Nasir Nawaz opening
Some good bowling by Tanvir and Sohail Khan

Dont agree with your assessment of Amin's batting today. You got to accept the fact that the wicket today was on the slow side with assistance for spinners and pacers alike. No dew factor noted today too. Reason for the low scores we saw today.

Amin intially didn't go for any big shots due to Nasir Nawaz at other end taking all the risks. After Nasir departed the batsmen at other end started falling too, which is why he played a steady innings, having said that I would anyday take a steady innings of 66 (49) in a T20. Regarding your post about bringing long on up, Im sure you noticed that he quite a six hitter nowadays, even todays knock had 1 boundary while 5/6 sixes. So what makes you think bringing long on/off up he wont be able to go over the top? Look at the six he hit of Umar Gul the other day or the one of Sohail Akhtar today. He plays proper cricket shots meaning you plug one area he knows how to play in other areas. The delivery he got out on was due to wrong shot selection, he went for midwicket boundary when he should have targeted the long on area. Anyways, overall it was a good innings which helped his side secure a win.

The highlights of the day for me was Nasir Nawaz. This lad is raw but under good and professional guidance we might see him represent Pakistan internationally.
