Rifatullah on fire. :shoaib

One of the best T20 openers in Pakistan currently. Can he get a call up?
 
lol run required almost 9. and commentator is saying. unnecessary risk le rahe hain.
 
Immad is bowling well. He can do job off hafeez in Odi's.
 
Riffatullah has to outscore Mukhtar , Nauman , Sharjeel and Shahzeb in this domestic tournament if he does than he will make the Zim tour . If he performs there he will get selected for World T20.

He is fit physically .

Atmost he is being looked at for World T20 .

Ball is in his court now . If he outscores his competitors he will be the 3rd opener .

Currently Ahmed Shehzad , Mukhtar and Nauman look set.

Nauman and Mukhtar failed 2nd consecutive time today

I think he out scored all the openers in previous national t20 cup But he was not given a change . Thay said he is to old to play in t20 cricket.

That could make him the oldest debutant in the history of cricket. He is like 40 and would be 41 by the time the WC starts.

I am not against it, but I doubt that the selectors will pick a guy in the 40's.

Musadiq won match for peshawar yesterday. and now he is doing same.
31 runs in 10 balls
 
42 runs required in 5 overs. this will be going to a nail biting match
 
Fitness and form is what which matter . Bw t20wcp is not to far and till that he is fit enough to play 20overs of cricket.

yeah but 90 years old babas are not able to understand this. they think they are fit to have job in PCB but any player who's age is more then 30 can't make debut in pakistan team.
 
Sarmad was " was " an allrounder in the under 19 worldcup 6 years ago.

Since last 2,3 years he has rarely rarely bowled . And left bowling .

Imad did a huge huge blunder by giving a batsman bowling in the 14th over and it cost them 23 runs and they lost the match .

1 over 23 runs .

Imad was doing good captaincy but a huge blunder by his in captaincy .

Mukhtar, Nauman, Faisal Mobashir, Musaidq, Iftikhar, Khalid Latif, Navid yasin, Babar Azam,
while in bowlers : Imran Khan Jr, Majid Ali, Taj Walli, Shehzad Azam Rana....

Faisal Mubashir & Babar Azam. Rest have been inconsistent. Mukhtar got a century in the first game, then followed with a duck, Nauman got a 50 first game, followed it with 1...

Naved Yasin hasn't done bad too!

Thanks God he played . In past I have rightly criticised shoaib malik for his lack of performance internationally where almost 5 years he went into "Hibernation"

But he is a thorough professional . Only captain who gives chances to youngsters . Gives the best players out of 16 the chance .

Good to know hassan Ali only giving away 29 runs and getting a wicket .

Zafar gohar is having a disappointing tournament.
Has been taken to the cleaners again and he even failed in Sri Lanka.
He is not able to perform as expected...

I think Malik was mentally shot during those five years. Plus too many behind the scenes games going on. Now I think he is finding a stable environment and is just being told to play. No schemes..

Just checked score for Multan vs Sialkot. Poor outings for Nauman & Mukhtar again.

good bowling from immad waseem. only given 18 runs in 4 overs.it's mean peshawar made 164 runs in 13 overs Just wow.
 
Peshawar favorites to win the cup. Defending champions they are I think.

Why didn't Usama Mir bowl? He batted well though.

In an interview after tasting success again , Malik said " I have learnt from my mistakes . Earlier I used to put my faulures on others complaining about batting positions and all that stuff . Now I have cleared my head and whatever position I am sent I give my 100 % for the team and results are there to ne seen "

Previously he would score lots in domestic cricket and when he made comeback he would be so conscious and fearful on every ball afraid and thinking every game if I fail I will be ousted again . So he played with lots of fear . This time in his comeback he was confident that I would play it the way I play Quaid e azam trophy or domestic T20 or for leagues , without taking pressure of expectations and failure worries . Fine I will try by rest and results lie with almighty . With this mindset he succeeded .
 
In gully cricket if you win a match and you were captain and your best friend did not get batting or bowling than in friendship and in fear of your friend getting Naraz from you you pledge with him that he will get batting or bowling next match . In your mind as a captain you plan that even if we win or lose I will give my friend batting or balling .

Sarmad bhatti and Imad Wasim have played lots club , inter dustrict , FC and list A cricket together .

Sarmad did not get batting in first match which islamabad won . Than he did not get batting again today . And he is a specialist batsman only since last 2,3 years .

With islamabad in the driving seat with tequired run rate being 10 after 14 overs Imad tries to compensate Sarmad ( k tumhein sirf fielding k liye nai rakha hua meray dost ) gives him over . Even in runup it looks somebody is bowling after ages and he goes for biggest over of the tournament costing 23 runs in 6 balls and Islamabad lost the match .

Musadiq was new to the crease that over should have been given to Shehzad Azam Rana to bowl Yorkers at 140+ and take a wicket and peg the Peshawar team further back .

Overall I loved Imad's proactive captaincy it was sharp and good but he made the biggest blunder of the tournament in captaincy .

Lol, no such thing I believe.

Malik has just played easy oppositions on helpful pitches so far. Let's wait and see how he does against proper attacks because he has never performed good enough against top teams.

At that time the tie was between mukhtar and Rifatullah . Mukhtar was 22 riffatullah was 39 . Mukhtar scored more runs in second last tournament and riffat scored most in last . So mukhtar scored in two consecutive tournaments more than Rifatullah and he was 17 years younger .

Now the situation is different . Now world T20 is near and in last T20 Rifatullah was highest scorer if this year too he becomes highest scorer than selectors will have to consider him especially if Nauman and Mykhtar don't score in atleast two games ahead than one of them could be dropped .

Australia selected Brad Hodge at flirty for world T20 or he was 39.

Than hardest format physically is test cricket with strains of 5 days . Where you have to be in the field for more than 100 hours fielding . With Misbah playing test cricket at almost 41 you cannot ignore Riffat for T20 at 40 if he is fit and if he has been highest scorer for two consecutive seasons .

Seriously, if you ask me who should go I will say Ahmed Shehzad , Nauman anwar and Rifatullah should go to Zim , UAE and India for T20i's but Rifatullah should capatalise next 3,4 games and outscore these fellows if he does selectors will be forced to select him and it will be a good move . Due to Sahibzada Shahid Khan Afridi Ahmed Shehzad is safe even if he doesn't perform . While he has scored a good fifty and a good 30 in 2 games he has played so far .

Since the time he came onto bat after hitting every four or six he was pumping his fist and saying (yes)

This happens in only school cricket in pakistan .

In domestic cricket what we see is if a batsman is jubilant at hitting boundary to a main bowler of opposing team he would stare in the eyes or rarely say something that's it .

Well I don't encourage regional bias at all neither positively not negatively .

But with these Pathan boys . They are more agressive than others and their (jazba) is matchless with any other team . The last tournament it was evident aswell . When they set a certain uphill task goal than they set aside any personal differences and glue together and together they hunt their common target .

This is a special feature of only Peshawar team which you won't see in any other team . They play their cricket with upmost passion.

You may argue that Abbotabad team is also from Kpk . But with that belt you see mixed Pathans or hazara belt players aswell . So you cannot associate this with them .

why pindi is playing night all matches.
yeah they are playing in pindi and they think more people will come to watch their city match but i think people will like to see different international stars not same faces playing everyday.

Thanks. Peshawar's team has certainly improved in the last few months, good cricketers coming up which is great to see. I agree that the passion they show is good to see.

I love passion and hard work of peshawar team.
as rifatullah said they started training camp 1 month before this t20 cup. that's show how they love cricket .

the best thing in them is that they play without any fair. umer gull is a big name but peshawar made 42 runs in his 3 overs. I loved rifatullah words when he said " if one can do it then others can do it" that's shows how much confidant he was.
