Need Help with choosing a Bat

Just found out some info about bat handle(s): I assume my AS V10's handle is made out of 12 piece Sarawak Cane because AS Sports claims so :) The rubber strips are actually for shock absorption, and they don't represent how many pieces the handle is made out of. Gray Nicolls uses Carbon fiber instead of rubber with their Carbo edition cricket bats for better shock absorption in theory.

Looks superb mate!

With the scuff sheet and all the final touches the bat looks even better than its new condition.

Great work :14:

Posted a month or so ago regarding new bat. I emailed Khalid bhai I believe from AS and cost should be around 185 with shipping for AS V10. Good deal? Also wondering from the original poster if I should ask anything in particular regarding the bat like with the handle and etc...

$185 is a good price for AS V10.

If I remember correctly didn't you wanted to buy a English bat ?

No I was fine with a Pakistani bat as long as it was top quality english willow. AS V10 was the cheapest option so Im most likely opting for that unless I can find a great deal elsewhere for a Bubber LE or something else which I doubt I will.

AS V3 and AS V10 are best Asian bats for its value and I haven't seen a single disappointed AS owner.

What is your budget regarding MB LE ?

Well basically if I can get it cheaper then 185 which is what I am getting for the AS (with shipping) I would def get it but I doubt I can get such a price for MB LE.

Thanks CD Bhai! Obeid Bhai, I would definitely recommend AS V10 bat. 185 is a good price depending on where you are located. Just tell him how your bat should look like: weight, no. of grains, Handle size, sweetspot location, etc. Tell him that you want 12 piece Sarawak cane handle. I an sure that you will get a 12 piece Sarawak cane handle anyway. The handle IMO is a little in the thicker side. You can ask him to make some adjustments to your needs. Good luck man. Also, if you are not that tall (not more than 5'7") and interested in English bats, then take a look at GM Academy sized bat that they just started shipping this month.

Bubber Sher LE retails for something close to $200 in Pakistan so it is highly highly unlikely to get a genuine MB LE in that price range (a brand new).

True...just a quick question guys. When asking for the weight I want a light bat. Now when I say 2.7 is that in lbs or oz. Because my last MB Sher amin from few years ago that I still have is 2.10 but not sure if it is 2.10 lbs or oz. I want a bat lighter then this.

You say it in lbs.

For example, I want a 2.7 lbs bat.

So AS V10 is it ?

InshAllah, everything will go well :).

PS: Do post a review of your bat which ever you opt out for at the end :)

No worries mate, no need to say thank. :)

I remember I once heard from someone that AS V3 and AS V10 both pretty much have similar quality of cleft being used and are pretty much the same. So you might want to opt out for AS V3 is budget is really a issue.

Have bought an SS Ton, will post up pics when it arrives.

I think the difference between AS V3 and AS V10 is a little. More like a difference between GM 909 and GM Original. Stickers and profile are of course different. Also, congrats Poison Bhai. Can't wait to see pics :)

Actually the profile is more or less the same.

There is very minimal difference in the cleft as well but again V10 has a better one.

Oh I see. Thanks for the info Bhai. I assume that minimal difference in the cleft will only make a minimal difference in the performance. If budget is a concern, Obeid Bhai won't go wrong with AS V3 as you said before.

Probably the 'Ton Professional', or the 'Yuvi T20'.

It's pretty costly (am getting it from India from a work colleague's friend) and is more than I'd normally spend on a bat but I've always wanted to try an SS.

Performance would be more of less the same I would say.

V10 is more like a professional player bat compare to V3.

Actually Indian bats are a bit steeper compare to Pakistani bats so that could be one of the reason.

I haven't seen 'Professional' but I have seen 'Yuvi T20' and its not that bad bat I must say.

Which Yuvi T20 are you getting ? G2 or G1 ?

(I think I posted this message in the wrong thread yesterday - apologies!)

I was wondering what the experts here, consider the main difference to be between the Bubber Sher (either regular, or the LE version), and the other two top Pakistani bats (AS V10 and CA Plus 12000). I've read a bit about the middle being slightly different in each of the three, but are the three almost the same bat? Or is there a real difference that should make people prefer one.

I love to drive the ball - both front-foot as well as off the back-foot (in fact, I tried "Cover Drive" as a username when I was registering with PP!). I am more of an "orthodox" batsman and like timing the ball through the "V". But I've had problems trying to hit sixes, and so am wondering if there is a bat amongst those three that would: 1. help me increase my hitting distance and 2. still help my "natural" stroke-making.

Would really appreciate any insight that you can share.

Many Thanks !!

the main difference between the LE and the regular are the number of grains you'll find on the bats. Malik will say that its of a higher quality willow - but at the end of the day you will find very high performing sher's as well. its better to see what feels best in your hands. i couldnt really decide between the two until i picked them up.

if your willing to spend, in my opinion the MB LE and the CA TRD are the two best bats going at the moment in pakistan.

thanks ca_gold. would you say there is much of a difference between the two (CA and MB LE), given my two goals? or are the differences really minor?

^ Sher Amin is literally a slogging machine. Low middle, and the middle is as meaty as they get. It's also pretty light. The low middle would probably help your driving game as well. Only problem is it's fairly weak for more back foot shots, like the pull or cut.

Yes, the golden rule as ca_gold bhai said is that try the bats and see which one feels the best in your hands. I take you're based in NY so it would be difficult unless you are buying from NY or planning to go Pakistan and pick one up from Pakistan.

Just to add as I said in my other post (replying to you) there is a difference in cletf well that's what I find. I don't think there is difference in number of grains. My regular bubber sher has more grains than LE but there is cleft difference and more importantly craftsmanship.

Ca_gold bhai, you went to Gander who had very good quality so it is obvious that his regular Bubber Shers will be as good as MB LEs just like Asad Bhais Newbery Players being as good as SPS :D

Sorry for poking my nose in (I hope you don't mind :) ). The only difference I can think of is location of the sweetspot and finishing as cleft is more or less the same. From what I have heard is that TRDs finsihing is pretty much like 12000 Plus whereas MB Les finsihing is one of the best in Asia and easily comparable to leading finishers.

Very well put in brief post, great work Poison Bhai :)
