"Neighbours wins come and go but grace is something you lack": Irfan Pathan

IMG_20221109_183628.jpg

Originally when we lost to India during the first game, this guy was troling pakistani fans.

We reached the finals and now look at him

Why so salty irfan? If i were him id hope and pray india get through instead of worrying about pakistan

Where was the grace when none of your stars showed support for Babar during his rut?

Poor guys, trying their best to be accepted by BJP and their likes. But lage raho.

How does Pakistan reaching finals concern india or indian ex cricketers?

Talk about living rent free 24/⁷

And you conveniently ignored the previous tweet. His tweet was in response to the comments he recieved from Pak fans for this tweet.

So just because he made this tweet that justifies what he said afterwards?

His tweet was in response to the trolling he got from Pak fans for this tweet. Hence he asked them to be graceful in victory. Whats so wrong in that?

might still be mad from 2007 T20 Final when Shoaib Malik thanked Muslims for their support. Malik at that time did not really speak English that well, and he certainly did not intended to suggest that Indian Muslims were supporting Pakistan, however Hindus still made it into a big deal. And so people like Irfan Pathan need to double down on their attacks against Pakistan so no one can accuse them of dual loyalty.

And why was he trolled? Plz also post that tweet as well than...

The sunday tweet

Has he seen how some of the Indians behave towards Pakistan when Pakistan loses or India wins? Enough said.

This. I was watching him on Star Cricket Channel where he interviewed Nawaz before the match and Rizwan after the match. He did alright. I think this tweet is in response to Pakistani trolls.

Pakistani dont give two hoots about him, he made tweets after we lost to them.

So offcourse fans will reply back after we rich finals

Irfan is right. Indians are known for their "grace" and "elegance" unlike Pakistanis. They would never make 10s of millions of disgusting comments on social media.

On a serious note, this guy has no self-awareness whatsoever. This tweet is so ridiculous that I thought he was joking at first.

Why write padosio? This is to all pakistanis not just the trolls He shouldve differentiated

Some of the worst are indian fans who troll and abuse their own players

He should say this to them too

Irfan should have kept quiet. Its not his business to make such statements. He is a grown man. Should have known better than to invite trolls to shame him.

Is everything ok with him?

He seems rather annoyed that Pakistan has qualified for the final.

Perhaps he should have said something about grace based on ill response of his countrymen when Pakistan loses and when India wins, its far worse and far more terrible with third class language, swearing etc. Its far more common in them but we have never heard a word on it from him. And you don't refer to a nation based on sour tweets from some fans.

We do have our share of fan base which doesn't let go off the opportunity to troll, but as long as its at respectable banter level, it's not harmful. Although I do wish our fans behaved like gora countries who don't take things to heart, neither make cricket/sports a life and death deal.

I think he should’ve not smeared ALL Pakistanis with one brush stroke.

It should’ve been directed only to all those imbeciles who called him a fake Muslim.

Truth of the matter is, many in Pakistan are indeed the fakest of Muslims.

NOTE: This thread is about Irfan's tweet. Its not about him being an Indian muslim or the political atmosphere in India or Islam in general. Kindly can you stick to topic and save us time in deleting posts.

Are you Indian fan ? Seem very defensive

It’s a poor tweet today , seems bitter with dodgy Hindi .

He’s not even a legend of the sport so not sure why anyone reads his stuff

Yes I am Indian. We all know he is not a legend but still give it importance. Maybe thats what being a celebrity is.

This is actually poor from Irfan because he trolled Pak fans after India's win over Pak in the first game, so quite obviously now Pak fans will give it back. He should behave like a professional cricketer not like some cheap fan. This is disappointing.

Pak fans kept calling him fake muslim on social media.

This is totally uncalled for - and should've not been said. This should be condemned!
His reaction now seems justifiable but he should've used a bit more wisely words to hit back.

Banter needs to be funny.

Instead of targetting his family and religion, they should have mocked him as Nakli Akram, which is what his cricket career ended up being.

Humm, that was a gracious tweet from him. Pakistanis should have praised him.

Nobody should be targetting his religion

However he does seem like a horrid troll who invites a reaction

Nothing wrong if he only answered those who trolled him, but looking at his tweet it seems like he targeted the whole country.
And why would fans troll him in first place, it takes two to make a quarrel, but I will not go into this discussion. It just looked like his post was to the entire country.

Pathetic and distasteful. This didn't even concern him or his team.

Has he ever seen the tweets in any post relating to Pak cricket by his countrymen?

What was he expecting starting a troll thread a week ago on a platform known for verbal abuse. :mv

I can sympathize with guys like Irfan Pathan and Wasim Jaffer as along with food, water and oxygen, anti-Pakistan comments are essential for their sustenance.

I don't understand what he means by "grace". Does he mean magnanimity?

Twitter is a cesspool. You shouldn't react to fans or trolls. I remember Kohli reacting to an Indian fan who said "i like Australian/England batting more than Indian batting" something like Leave India lol. You gotta be thick-skinned as a celebrity. Michael Vaughan can throw punches and take punches. Ashwin is another sensitive person who trolled back Hershell Gibbs.

He is a minority psychology ka shikaar. Has to prove himself as a nationalist time after time

He is calling out people who is trolling him for supporting Pakistan on previous tweet. Most of the people are misunderstanding him.

no indian has the right to complain about anyone on social media, ever, no one even comes close to online Indians keyboard warriors when it comes to being insufferable.

Anger is the currency of the twitter! That's why one should go on twitter only to find funny memes, not to engage with random people over trivial things. Incivility has risen to crisis levels on twitter in general but celebrities should be the last to complain because they all want to be heard and be influencers to make money.

Yep. Totally agree.
Whoever mocked him by taking a hit at his religion or family, then such a person has no values, no class and no dignity and no understanding of religion either.
Dumb people who can't come up with witty and funnyy stuff, usually resort to such third class mocking attempts.

Remember there was one tweet that fabricated Nasser Hussain's quote on umpiring in the first T20 match. Nasser Hussain politely asked them to take it down for improperly quoting him. Report or block such users. You can't engage with them. Some idiot has commented about Suryakumar yadav's wife in an unpleasant way on his twitter feed today. These loonies cannot be controlled by reacting to them. Also one idiot commented about Bumrah's wife's appearance she gave him back.

He was right to hit back at the trolls...but I'm not sure about the use of word 'Padosiyon'.

The Indian flag sort of makes a statement in the background...just saying.

Social media is full of jobless junglees. You will find the bottom of the barrel trolls who have nothing better to do but antagonise you.

Irfan should have known better if he was trolled. I myself don’t spend too much time on apps like twitter for a reason because it becomes nothing but a repetitive toxic craphouse.

Wanted to see an India Pakistan final but I’d honestly love it more to see them not make it to the finals so their fans (and ex cricketers like Irfan) who bought tickets to the final are forced to watch us play England.

Now he was just asking for it. Makes sense now as such lowball troll type tweets from a former player is only asking for trouble later. They all need to learn to behave and keep their emotions in check.

To quote the great Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah:

"Muslims who are opposing Pakistan will spend the rest of their lives proving loyalty to India"

Same could be said about Hindus living in Pakistan. Whatever that is left of them

Perhaps.

However, to respond to your latter statement. Indian's like to suggest that Pakistan have exterminated its Hindu population as their numbers have decreased today compared to their number in 1947.

The reason for this massive percentage decrease is because the majority of Pakistan's Hindu population was in East Pakistan. Obviously, after East Pakistan became Bangladesh, Pakistan's overall percentage of Hindu citizens decreased.

Correct. But still many Hindus from Pakistan have moved to India in the last few decades

And to my previous point. The current Hindus in Pakistan have to always prove their loyalty to Pakistan also. Just like India. Pakistan and India ar terrible countries for minorities. If you go by stats Pakistan is worse than India.

How dare he walk around with a Muslim tag when he is walking on the same ground as the pious Rizwan. He should first start attending Rizzy's sermons with immediate effect.

Irfan fails to realize he is still an Indian because his great grand parents decided to stay back in 1947, he wasn't even born yet.

They could have decided to go to Pakistan and he obliviously would not have had any say, it would of been that easy for them to make him a Pakistani, just like that.

Someone tweet him this and watch him become somewhat humble, you gotta know your roots.

TPS type discussions on India and Pakistan can be kept for TPS.

What actually **** me off is that people like Irfan Pathan give an impression to others that for Muslims to show their indianness need to bash Pakistan, when it is clearly not the case. Our country accepts and treats everyone equally.

Jaffer is different, he makes fun of everyone, even India at times, he thinks he is cool but he is not, still I'm OK with it.

He’s not a legend for sure. But he’s had great performances vs Pakistan. If Amir is defended by some here for his CT performance vs India, Irfan too has earned his stripes in the context of the T20 WC. He was after all, the Man of the match in the 2007 final :amir

Where was the grace when Indian fans were taunting and insulting Pak after we lost to Zimbabwe??. They had even booked our flight to Karachi.

Nobody should target Irfan with personal attacks, but this is important.

He’s lucky they never went to Pakistan. He would be a nobody. As the great Javed Miandad said you can find bowlers better than him in gully mohallas.

Jaffer's tweets are occasionally funny. Pathan is simply trying to grab some limelight and maybe start some show or something.

Even kaif was very cocky with shoaib akhtar before indian semifinal match.

Who's asking Shoaib to do programs with Indian channels in every world cup? There's been repeated incidents of the hosts etc mocking him or Pak yet he still keeps going to their shows.
