They would go for 3 overs for 60 against India in the SC.

Not sure why players sitting on TV and Media is not targeting him. Ever since he has come back from his knee injury, has been one of the major reasons for all the defeats Pak has faced.

We seriously need a fresh blood who can lead the bowling attack. Unfortunately we don't have much options

35 meant Pakistan do not hold record for the lowest or even second lowest total of he hit out Asif Ali won those matches when there was a chance, at no point in Samad's inninh Pakistan had chance. I do not rate him but do not blame him for his approach in this match, much better than Asif, Khushdil Kallis or Faheem Sobers would had done.

Those records are meaningless

Asif Ali got those runs when Pakistan needed it. Let Samad finish a match then he can be rated better. Finishers job is to finish the match..

You can have the best bowling and batting talent at your disposal but it can easily get wasted when the captain, coaches can't get the basics right ie reading, understanding the pitches, conditions, bowling changes, field placements etc
 
Shaheen needs to be dropped and sent to domestic

Similar for shadab the rubbish

You expect Asif Ali to finish with 100 + needed batting with tailend on this pitch against half decent bowling lineup, lol. Anyone can fluke over or two, even Naseem finished match for Pak.

Asif wouldn't have finished the match. In fact, no one would have. What I am trying to tell you is that a finisher can be rated only if he finishes a match. These runs mean nothing.

Agree, and I am just telling you he had no choice but to play like that or Pakistan would had been out in 10 overs, so atleast he had some practise in international, opportunities are limited.

If 11 tail enders are playing then you expect this from a B team. Mindless slogging will not take you anywhere. Only consolation is when ever we have batted apart from last match the ball has been moving crazy but thats no excuse

If you’re happy watching guys bat at a strike rate of 125 throughout their career and failing in multiple events, then apparently the Peshawar league or wherever Rizwan is playing will keep you entertained.

Rizwan plays at a 120 sr in the Iftikhar Ahmed league as well.
 
When Saim and fakhar come back, I’d probably open with Saim and Hasan then have Haris down to 3, fakhar at 4. Agha 5, irfan 6 and then Shadab (sadly, I don’t think we have many other options right now) at 7.

Interested to see how that plays out. I’d leave fakhar at 4 now because he’s getting on, and he did have some form there. We have to prioritise our younger batsmen as long as they’re in form and performing. Fakhar can move back up if it doesn’t work out.

About losing today’s game and lessons learned:

I feel like Hasan has done well enough to earn a run at opening. If we move him down and he fails people will blame why did we move him down. Need to just give him settled consistent chances.

Fakhar will be 35 soon as has technically had a run at opening already. I agree there is a part of me that sees Fakhar outperforming Hasan as opener. But I just don’t simply think it’s worth long term development. Especially fakhar even has had injuries now I don’t know how much longer he will play. I wouldn’t dare mess with Hasan’s position right now.

I’d give Haris another game even though it’s still just one decent innings amongst mostly failures. But because of that I don’t really mind moving him down to 3. Plus we need someone to keep.

If it all doesn’t work out Babar/Rizwan etc can come back to fill in positions. But I reckon we can try for a bit to see how this new look team performs. Even though I believe giving Haris more chances now after that innings, I do think unfortunately long term he will be end up getting replaced again, so I can see Babar, Usman, Rizwan etc coming back for him. But for now I’d let him have a bit of a run.

Contributions from Tim Seifert (44 off 20 balls, 3x4s, 4x6s) and Michael Bracewell (46 not out off 26 balls, 5x4s, 2x6s) further strengthened their innings. For Pakistan, Haris Rauf impressed with figures of 3-27, while Abrar Ahmed chipped in with two wickets.

In response, Pakistan's batting faltered and they were bowled out for 105 in 16.2 overs, with Abdul Samad top-scoring with 44 off 30 balls, including four fours and two sixes. New Zealand's Jacob Duffy excelled with the ball, taking 4-20 in his four overs, supported by Zakary Foulkes with 3-25. The series finale is scheduled for 26 March at Sky Stadium, Wellington, with the match starting at 11:15am PKT.

Hasan deserves at least two Series. This one (last game) + a series at home.

I believe if you have identified a player in this format. You should at least give him a full series in home and away. Then make a decision.

An expected result a team of hacks can get lucky every now and then but can't expect consistency from them.

Also for anyone getting their hopes about Samad after him finally scoring a few runs, just remember he's still never scored even a half century in any T20 game ever...
 
Came down crashing quick after a fantastic performance in 3rd game. Back to usual and back to reality :inzi
 
I did not get to see full game since it was a late game for us in US central time zone. Whatever I saw, I wonder what was the percentage of slow balls bowled by the Pak pacers of the allowed 6 balls. It felt as if the stock ball was the slower ball as opposed to varied pace balls. Let see if anyone can pull up those stats.

What did we do in last T20 tour to NZ with pathetic players like Rizwan?

We lost 4-1.

This time is already an improvement over Babar/Rizwan in the way we batted in our victory.

These young hitters are the guys who will score and chase any total on flat batting wickets which is 95% of white ball cricket.
 
Pak fans who are critical should look at this way. They shouldn't view this as an exercise to identify 11 players all at the same time. If they can find 2 new players that is a success for them. Pakistan apparently is limited in supply when it comes to batting talent. So this process is going to be long and slow. They have to build a new unit piece by piece. Meanwhile they should worry about the area where they are not really doing experiment. Shaheen regular. Rauf regular. Shadab experienced. Abrar now a regular. So they have to do experiment in that department as well.

Exactly, well said, It’s about finding the right 11 for ICC tournaments and a balanced 11 overall.

Pakistanis seem to be obsessed over bilaterals

Babar and Rizwan have chased 200 multiple times. The issue is your ilk is different standards for different players. You will cry about those teams being B and C teams but these tullas get it right 1/4 against NZ D team and suddenly you start doing bhangra
