New Zealand (243/5) defeat Pakistan (242) comfortably by 5 wickets in the final of Tri-Nation ODI series

NZ players continuing to prolong Faheem's career :yk3

Meanwhile Pak fans whenever there's a catching opportunity :apology

South africa In the last 12 months in odis

Pakistan beats south africa 4 out of 4 times
Afghanistan beats them 2 out of 3 times
Ireland have also beat them in 1 game out of 2

South africa lost 6 out of 9 odi games they played last year and lost all of them to minnows

So this is your world-class 🤣🤣
@RedwoodOriginal

How on earth have you 2 been arguing for 50 overs straight 🤣🤣

From NZ bowling only Santner and bRacewell were economical. Who are the equivalents in Pakistan team?

why does Shaheen consider himself all rounder? one of the most brain dead cricketer i have seen batting. PSL clowns who made him all rounder should be fired

Mehran Mumtaz is a big miss. Quality left-arm spinners can make a huge difference in white-ball these days. Mehan can be quick and rush batters a bit. Hopefully we invest in him and Arafat Minhas for 2027. Saad Baig, I don't rate at all based on what little I have seen of him.

Saad is better than Khushdil & Fahim from the little that I have seen. His batting looks good, bowling not so much.

They could have easily played Mehran/Arafat against zim bros but they didn't & now they don't have a spinner.

Stand up and appreciate this spell by O’Rourke

Excellent bowling

Rana Faheem had three chances and still could nt clear boundary.. This team is complete farce 5-9 batting

Naseem 19 runs

And your telling me this isn’t a road?
Basically my analysis is the same from the first innings and I told @Nikhil_cric this as well.

Pitch is slow but outfield is lighting fast. If you use your feet to nullify the fact that the ball doesn't come on to you, you'll thrive on this pitch.

Staying back at the crease and trying to backfoot everything is suicide on this pitch.

The low bounce effectively means playing late cuts, or standing back for cover drives or Lofts is impossible.

That's why agha has been very good at this pitch, he uses his feet albeit only against spinners.

Bro mines is plain and simple

Pakistan are a manure modern batting unit. NZ batting first and they would show you the pitch has plenty of runs.

Pakistan all out for 242. This is a below par score but then again if any team can defend it, its bowling powerhouse Pakistan. One inspired spell of reverse swing under lights and its game over for Kiwis.

Faheem scored 22 thanks to two chances. Booked his spot in Pakistan team for 2025. That is how easy it is these days to represent the country

Well, that's not exactly a high bar. Isn't Saad Baig a wicketkeeper?

Even if they played them there's no guarantee they would have been picked here. Sufiyan Muqeem played in Zimbabwe and South Africa and they didn't pick him here.

Such a weird team.

Specialist batters can't play part timers. Tail ender nasim looks a better bat than 80% batters. Phool nagars sobers can neither bat nor ball but him & khushdil are premium all rounders.

No one can field.

Fast bowlers get tired mid over.

Trying to bring genius back to reality but I think he's on the good stuff. It will take some time for it to wear off.
Whatever the case, it's been 4.5 hours. I think that's a new PP record 🤣🤣. Both of you have some insane stamina lol.

Reverse swing is out of business in ODI now a days. Are you still living in 90s

Another trend in Pakistan batting culture…

The guy with the supposedly better batting ability takes the back seat whilst the inferior one takes the initiative

Pakistan vs Bracewell & Santner combined (20 overs) - 58 runs
Pakistan vs rest of bowlers (29.3) - 184 runs

They batted relatively fast enough vs rest of the bowlers but it's shocking how poor they were vs Bracewell & Santner. The pitch is not as flat as last game but it's not that difficult of a pitch either. It'll be surprising if NZ don't chase this relatively easily to be honest.

You can go back to 2023 when NZ toured and you can see that chasing was extremely difficult. Highest successful chase at NSK that time was 281 and that was thanks to some insane hitting by Philips.

I don't think this is going to be a straightforward chase at all unless there's significant dew formation

The middle order that was supposed to capitalise spinners in middle did jack all today

I'm having issues recalling his name.

He is a leg spinning all rounder who looked a decent bat in the champions cup.

He is not talking about saad baig from U19 but saad masood the leggie.

That’s nothing he’s been holding a grudge since Pakistan played South Africa three months ago and is now bringing it up just to claim Rizwan is some kind of Dhoni for beating South Africa in their own backyard. But South Africa doesn’t hold the same weight these days, with India, Australia, New Zealand, and maybe even England being the top teams. In fact, Pakistan is on par with South Africa, if not better.

the trick is to bowl wicket to wicket and try to make ball skid thru the surface. But our bowlers are so mindless that they will search for slip catches and bowl half volleys

Faheem could pull off a heist here if he bowls with sense

Losing QDK hampered SA. Qdk was 80% of the side. Qdk elevated the team and allowed everyone to play risk free since qdk could always bash and dominate and was a reliable batsmen.

He, van der dussan, Makram and Klaseen made a deadly combo, but de zorzi and bavuma are a joke combo that depart early which forces the middle order to play conservatively.

In 2023 however SA was the 2nd strongest team after India. In terms of team strength in 2023 it was

1) India 2) Sa 3) NZ 4) Aus 5) Afg 6) Eng 7) Pakistan 8) Sri Lanka 9) Bangladesh 10) Nedtherlands

But Aus ended up winning cause they had 2 golden encounters in semi's and finals.

2025 sa is a joke. Non existent bowling followed by klaseen or bust.

If Pakistan loses this game then it will be bad news for India.

Losing today means Pakistan will be down and out in confidence in their CT against New Zealand. Then when Pakistan will lose to New Zealand in CT they will become dangerous. Like cornered tigers. They will come hard at India and India will be in trouble in that game.

Forget about india. We are likely to lose but Pakistan is going to play against NZ on 19 Feb.

Think about that match instead india

:kp

Naseem is a better batter than both.
And cleaner hitter of the ball...the six he hit, Faheem and HappyHeart can only dream off...plus Naseem has performed in pressure situations with the bat while neither of the fake all rounders have ever taken us over the finish line...

Pakistan should aim at a respectable loss or a win? Is a win possible with this bowling ? Thought

i still remember how badly khushdil was booed and made fun of by the crowd in lahore or pindi in the 7th T20i against england in 2023 i guess. When he played very bad innings of survival only rather than going for a win. He is still living in those days.
