NZ, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

Something new. Something refreshing.

Hopefully it will be a good series. :inti

Zimbabwe are likely to lose all games. Hopefully they will pick up a win or two to make things interesting.

Not sure if Klaasen will be playing. If he does, I can see him break many records in Harare (very batting-friendly). :inti

JOHANNESBURG: Proteas Men’s head coach Shukri Conrad has named a 14-player squad for the upcoming T20 International (T20I) tri-series against hosts Zimbabwe and New Zealand, set to take place in Harare from 14 - 26 July.

Rassie van der Dussen will captain the side, which features four maiden T20I call-ups. They are Momentum Multiply Titans duo Corbin Bosch and Lhuan-dré Pretorius, North West Dragons batter Rubin Hermann and Dafabet Warriors spinner Senuran Muthusamy.

Both Pretorius and Hermann were among the breakout stars of the 2025 edition of the Betway SA20 for Paarl Royals.

Pretorius finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 397 runs at a strike rate of more than 166, including a blistering 97 off 51 balls against Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

Batting at number three, Hermann recorded 333 runs at a strike rate of 128.08 and an equally impressive average of 41.43

Bosch, who is already capped in One-Day Internationals (ODI) and Tests, played a key role in MI Cape Town’s maiden SA20 title-winning campaign last season, taking 11 wickets in eight matches.

Meanwhile, Muthusamy is one of frontline three spinners in the squad, alongside World Sports Betting Western Province George Linde and DP World Lions Nqaba Peter.

Dewald Brevis makes his return to the T20I setup, having last featured in two matches against Australia in 2023.

The bowling unit is bolstered by the return of fast bowlers Nandre Burger and Gerald Coetzee. Burger is back in the national setup for the first time since October after recovering from a lumbar stress fracture, while Coetzee, now fully fit following a groin injury, last played for the Proteas in November.

The tri-series also marks Conrad’s first T20I assignment since being appointed as the senior men’s all-format head coach. The squad will assemble for a two-day camp at the Centre of Excellence in Pretoria from 09 - 10 July under the guidance of SA A head coach Wandile Gwavu, before departing for Harare on 11 July

South Africa will open the tri-series against Zimbabwe on 14 July at Harare Sports Club.

Commenting on the squad, Shukri Conrad said: “This T20I tri-series marks the start of our preparation for next year’s T20 World Cup. With several senior players rested as part of their workload management, it creates space for these players to step in and show what they can offer, and bring them into contention for World Cup selection.

“Lhuan-dré and Rubin have been rewarded for their outstanding domestic form in the SA20 and we’re excited to see how they adapt to the demands of international cricket. We know what Corbin has to offer at this level and we are keen to see how his Test and ODI skills will translate to the T20I arena.

“Having three quality spin options gives us a great deal of variety, especially in conditions like Harare. Senuran has been impressive in the domestic setup and his ability to contribute with the bat adds great balance to the squad.

“Rassie has led the side before and brings experience to the role, while providing valuable support to the younger players on this tour,” concluded Conrad.

Zimbabwe are scheduled to play some good sides (NZ and South Africa).

This is a good exposure for them. Hopefully they will maximize it.

No Devon Conway. But Pakistanis crying that Babar and Rizwan have been removed
They can cry. Their is nothing stopping Babar and Rizwan from becoming t20 cricketers. No one stopped them from unleashing.

Infact isnt that the whole point of opening in t20?

THREAD IS ABOUT BABAR AND RIZWAN????

NOOOO

SO NO MORE SUCH STUFF... WILL REMOVE IT

Allen ruled out of Zimbabwe T20I Tri-Series

BLACKCAPS opener Finn Allen has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I Tri-Series in Zimbabwe after sustaining a foot injury whilst playing for the San Francisco Unicorns in the Major League Cricket tournament.

Allen’s recovery timeline will be determined once he has returned to New Zealand and received further specialist consultations.

A replacement player will be named in due course.

The BLACKCAPS arrive in Harare on Thursday July 10 ahead of their first Tri-Series match against South Africa on Wednesday 16.

Hope boards arrange more of such tri-series. Much better than boring bilateral white ball series.

Raza to lead revamped Zimbabwe squad for home tri-series

Zimbabwe's squad features a blend of familiar faces as well as uncapped players, as they gear up for a crucial stretch of white-ball cricket.

Zimbabwe have announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series at home featuring South Africa and New Zealand, set to run from 14 to 26 July at the Harare Sports Club.

Squad:

Sikandar Raza (c), Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Trevor Gwandu, Clive Madande, Wessly Madhevere, Tinotenda Maposa, Wellington Masakadza, Vincent Masekesa, Tony Munyonga, Tashinga Musekiwa, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri, Tafadzwa Tsiga

Sikandar Raza will once again take on the leadership mantle as Zimbabwe aim to deliver strong performances against two of the world's top white-ball sides.

Several key players make their return from injury, including left-arm quick Richard Ngarava, who has recovered from a lower-back issue, and young all-rounder Brian Bennett, who has been cleared following a concussion that limited his participation in the recent Test series against South Africa.

The squad retains a strong core from Zimbabwe’s last T20I outing against Ireland in February, with Ryan Burl, Tony Munyonga and Tashinga Musekiwa keeping their spots after solid performances.

Zimbabwe have also handed opportunities to three uncapped players in the T20I format. Wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga, left-arm pacer Newman Nyamhuri, and leg-spinner Vincent Masekesa have been brought in as they look to broaden their squad depth.

Zimbabwe made a mind-blowing 344/4 in their 20 overs against Gambia in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Sub Regional Qualifier B.

Zimbabwe’s fixtures:

14 July: Zimbabwe vs South Africa

18 July: Zimbabwe vs New Zealand

20 July: Zimbabwe vs South Africa

24 July: Zimbabwe vs New Zealand

26 July: Final

All the games will be played at Harare Sports Club.

Conway, Hay, Neesham and Robinson called into T20 squad for Zimbabwe Tri-Series

Devon Conway, Mitch Hay, Jimmy Neesham and Tim Robinson will join the BLACKCAPS T20I squad in Harare for the upcoming Tri-Series against Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Wicketkeeper-batter Conway will replace Finn Allen for the full T20I series, after Allen was ruled out with a foot injury earlier this week.

Hay, Neesham and Robinson will join the squad as additional cover for Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra who are involved in the Major League Cricket tournament final on Monday.

BLACKCAPS head coach Rob Walter said he was feeling for Allen.

“We’re really gutted for Finn,” said Walter.

“I was looking forward to working with him and to see him continue his form from the MLC but unfortunately injuries happen.

“We’re lucky to be able to call on someone of Devon’s quality to replace Finn.”

Walter said he was prepared to expand the squad.

“We knew there’d be a possibility that a handful of players could be involved in the MLC final on Monday, so we’re bringing in Mitch, Jimmy and Tim as possible replacements.”
The BLACKCAPS play South Africa in their first Tri-Series match on Wednesday at 11pm NZT.

All set for a thrilling T20I triangular series opener between Zimbabwe and South Africa this afternoon at Harare Sports Club

Will South Africa declare again to show "respect" to past records? :qdkcheeky

Just kidding. There is no declaration in T20. Not allowed by ICC.

Anyway, South Africa should crush Zimbabwe.

In the second match of the Zimbabwe T20 Tri-Series held in Harare on July 16, 2025, New Zealand set a competitive total of 173/5 in their 20 overs. Tim Robinson was the standout performer, anchoring the innings with an unbeaten 75 off 57 balls, while Bevon Jacobs gave a late boost with 44* off 30. South Africa, in response, got off to a quick start, reaching 34/1 in just 3.2 overs, needing 140 more runs from 100 balls. Lhuan-dre Pretorius scored a brisk 27 before falling to Matt Henry. With a current run rate of 10.20 and a required rate of 8.40, South Africa holds a slight edge in win probability at 53.71%, keeping the match evenly poised as the chase progresses.

In the second match of the T20I Tri-Series in Zimbabwe, held on July 16, 2025, at Harare Sports Club, New Zealand defeated South Africa by 21 runs. South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first.

New Zealand's innings saw an early struggle, as they were reduced to 70 for 5 wickets. However, a crucial unbeaten 103-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Tim Robinson (75 not out) and Bevon Jacobs (44 not out) propelled them to a respectable total of 173 for 5 in their 20 overs. Early wickets for South Africa were taken by Kwena Maphaka (2 wickets), Lungi Ngidi (1 wicket), Senuran Muthusamy (1 wicket), and Gerald Coetzee (1 wicket).

Chasing 174 for victory, South Africa's batting faltered, and they were ultimately bowled out for 152 runs in 18.2 overs, falling short by 21 runs.

Phillips ruled out of Zimbabwe tour with injury | Robinson to remain as T20 cover

BLACKCAPS batting allrounder Glenn Phillips has been withdrawn from the tour of Zimbabwe after injuring his right groin.

Phillips suffered the injury during the Major League Cricket (MLC) final and was assessed on arrival in Zimbabwe where it was determined he would require a number of weeks to rehabilitate.

Wellington Firebirds batter Tim Robinson, who joined the squad as cover for players involved in the MLC final, will stay with the squad for the remainder of the T20 Tri-Series.

BLACKCAPS head coach Rob Walter said he felt for Phillips.

“It’s obviously disappointing to lose someone of Glenn’s calibre,” said Walter.

“Much like Finn, we really feel for Glenn and that he misses out on this series.

“We know he was eager to get out on the field for the BLACKCAPS and unfortunately, he won’t be able to do that for this series.

“We know he’ll work hard to get himself back onto the park, and I look forward to when that happens.”

Phillips' replacement in the Test squad will be named in due course.

He will return to New Zealand with Mitch Hay and Jimmy Neesham who were also called in as cover alongside Robinson.
