What's new

New Zealand defeat Australia by 6 runs to win 1st ODI in Auckland

You can expose Australia technically but never count out their mental strength. Incredible fight back.

Might be an all time comeback and one of the greatest all round performances if Stoinis can pull this off.

This is why Shield cricket is the best in the world. It might not be preparing players technically as it used to in the past but the mental strength and character it builds is very evident in all Australian players.

Just following the scorecard but this is one of the greatest 100s I've seen in a while.

KW knows Stonis will take a single on the last ball and doesn't bring the field in. Excellent captaincy.

He is the first ever Australian to take three wickets and hit a hundred in an ODI.

In his second match.

With Australia 55/5 chasing almost 290.

Ridiculous.

Just checked the scorecard, how can a player of Stoinis's calibre score a ODI century is beyond me, NZ must have been bowling filth to him.

This guy can't score runs to save his life at domestic level.

He made a 170 recently.

This is great strike farming, rotation and big hitting. This is a mature-mature piece of batting here.

the bloke averages 25 in list A at a SR of 71.Shows what domestic averages mean.

I've watched the guy bat countless times for Victoria and more often then not he looks lost batting.

Well, props to Stoinis.

Stoinis for the most part looks like a paper tiger when he comes out to bat for Victoria in the Matador Cup.

Haven't watched him play Shield Cricket but his statistics don't inspire much.

I like how Stoinis is bullying his batting partners, dictating when they run. What a debut.

must be picked on just pure potential his stats don't look much with either bat or ball maybe we could have done something similar with Hammad.

I hate Hazelwood so much now. This was a dream chase and perfect batting he had one damn job

Useless Hazlewood.

Useless Starc.

Poor Stoinis misses out on probably the greatest ODI knock of all time.

Would've been the greatest knock of all time. Hazelwood and Starc are patethic

Yeah, it's funny how such little things result in great knocks like this being suddenly thrown into the waste basket of history. Really ticked off at Starc and Hazlewood now.

No, Stoinis is the only other pace-bowling all rounder in Australia apart from Faulkner and Marsh.

He isn't rated highly by many in Australia.

I feel so sad for Stonis. Probably the best innings I've ever seen chasing.

Absolutely! If there is one team in the history which never chokes & fights till last ball it has to be "Australia" exactly opposite to South Africa!
