What's new

New Zealand v Pakistan | 1st Test | Christchurch | Nov 17-21, 2016 | Day 2

Rahat is all over the place, not exactly focus on fuller length. That does not help either on this wicket. Misbah has to replace him, he is going 4+ an over without been threatening.... Sohail was bowling better than both..

Agree to this, Rahat however did get some movement, his ability to control is the issue, unlike for Amir who is bowling as straight as he is.. its a worrying sign...

Compare it against the bowling he did against India.. in the t20 game you will know the difference.

This is not the same Amir

This was a 4 pacer pitch..

Even Yasir is bowling better length than seamers... Bowling is all about length, you have to master that, if you want to be top class...No wonder he is our best bowler by a distance.

See he's only bringing it back in to lefties... that is what I am talking about yasir

Best bowler should've been Amir on this pitch.. the pitch that is available for him, he should get a 5'fer if he moves it the same way against India

He is not the same bowler any more. He is just an average/good bowler. Nothing too fancy

Nicolls looks to have improved quite a bit since I last saw him against Sri Lanka.

Good over from Amir. Don't know why people are crying. Rahat has bowled absolute filth

Maybe if Rahat could be given the new ball instead of Amir, he swung it more than Amir despite being first change.. worrying signs if you are an Amir fan if a bowler like Rahat gets it to swing more than you

I agree, have not seen that BD spell, even some of his spell in BPL last year. He was swinging late and consistently. Even when he was playing against Somerset, there was late swing. Now his length most of the time is back to good not full, which is must for swing...

I care less about wickets, but more about the shape of seam coming out of his hand and swing in the air. I am not seeing much progress in last 6/7 test matches. Its not like he has changed his length and not getting results, he has not even tried to change the length, I don't know why? - Is it too much pressure to keep runs tight, who knows? - Something has to change for results to be different. He will not be able to swing or reverse swing at those length, I am not sure what is think tank feeding him? :13:

I like Rahat but he has bowled short, wide trash today. Don't care if he got the odd one to swing a mile. Rahat is putting pressure on everyone by bowling filth because it's just a 4 man attack

Damn I slept till 11 am and saw 2.5 sessions over.

We have an interesting test match on the cards

Too many wrist sitters on the forum, the match is far from over there is still 60% of the match left - plenty of time for more twists and turns.

Amir is pitching at a good consistent line and length but where are the out swingers to left handed bats? He is bowling it only one way.

Except Aamir every Pakistani bowler has bowled pretty bad today. This bowling attack will be destroyed in Australia if they get flat pitches.

What match are you watching? Sohail Khan was head and shoulders above the rest.. beat the bat many times, was the only one who got some kind of swing.. Amir wasted the new ball literally

Raval showing just why he should have been picked on the tour of Zimbabwe. Guptill would have guaranteed a 30/4 start for us.

New Zealand 90/3 (30.4 ov)
New Zealand trail by 43 runs
Jeet Raval (lhb) 44*
Henry Nicholls (lhb)*

Raval proves me and every other sane NZ fan right by showing why he should be in the side instead of Martin "No clue where my off stump is" Guptill.

Great we made 2 legends out of 2 no name players.

Grandhomme and Raval, remember the names.

One test does not make a legend. This is not Pakistan where Amir became Akram after one series. They have had good debuts but even Matt Sinclair had one of the all-time best starts to his test career with two doubles in 5 tests. It all went to hell after that.

Need to see where these two go. Have more hopes from Raval than Rick Rude though.

LOL!!! - He is not giving any reason... Lay lay, Baghian lay lain... :))

I wouldn't be mad if Southee and Latham did this, but we got destroyed by two no-names. Maybe Mamoon was rigght when he said we have no hope.

Pitch is getting easier to bat on now. Any lead over 100 is game over for Pakistan. 80-20 to NZ now.
