New Zealand v Pakistan | Match 33, World Cup | Edgbaston | June 26, 2019 | New Zealand innings

Pakistan are still favourites but they have let a golden opportunity slip away here. The worst thing is that they did all the hard work by gutting NZ’s top order, only to allow Neesham and De Grandhomme, two distinctly mediocre batsmen, to take it away from them.

To be fair if we can't even chase 250 ...no matter state of the pitch.. Then perhaps we don't deserve to be in semis

please no 250 :( please....... that run out which saved deGrandhome costing us... he was in by inches...

The demons in the pitch seem to have disappeared and it has become docile. Pakistan should be able to chase this. The openers should aim to be at 160-170 for 2/3 after 35 overs and it's game Pakistan.

Pathetic keeping by Sarfaraz, why was he not behind the stumps? gets away with it!

There goes our SemiFinal chances out of the window, I’d suggest everyone to not watch the run chase to avoid yourself an inevitable heartbreak because I know which Pakistani batting lineup will turn up today in a must win high pressure run chase, expecting us to bundle out for 150.

Then go away from here :))

This total is still below par. This was not 300 pitch but rather 270.

The problem is Pakistan's unpredictable batting and that is a real worry when Pakistan are even chasing close to 250

The evidence from the first half of the match points towards the pitch being one which will do something with new ball but afterwards turns into a non threatening track, albeit a slow one.
Pakistan needs to see the new ball/Boult off..it should get easier after that.

Agreed. They need see off the new ball then accelerate. Maybe Fakhar should stick to his natural game.

Imad too is playing as a bowling all-rounder but hes been poor as usual

He just can't field well.
Can't field on his bowling.
Can't field in the deep.
Can't catch while running.
No place of lazy sofias in the team

yup... that's the worry.. on a good day we may chase 350.. but sometimes we bundle on small chases.. lets hope for the best

The only reason NZ is in this game is because of Pakistan's batting. Any other side, this total will be about 50-60 runs below par score.

Tbh Pakistan's batting is the only reason NZ has shut down shop and not pushed the pedal earlier.

No but people panicking in the 45th over despite NZ playing at RR. 4 is pathetic. Odds are very much in our favour.
First 15 overs will give the story. It is a going to be a very had fought victory for Pakistan if at all. Certainly not an easy chase.

Our tradition of making legends out of average players continues.

Neesham and Grandhomme..Batting average of 30 each, and they put on over a 100 at run a ball.

Does my saying here affect the 11 players playing. No. Both Wasim and Simon are saying 220 230 is going to be very difficult to chase. See the score.

Did i say it is easy win for Pakistan?Nz batsmen have batted magnificently equation is now 50 50 for both side

We need boundaries but Pakistan are getting their death bowling right.
