Its better for batting than most thought but its certainly not flat. Its got a decent grass cover and some green patches. It should get easier though and won't break up.

I'd wager Southee and Boult will get something out of it.

what no broadcasters for UK EU and these are major countries playing TEST!!!! wth with ICC and cricket boards

548-8 LOL innings win coming up IMO, Windies are really playing some rubbish cricket and have been doing for a while.

These two batsmen have to play out still stumps here. The pitch is still very good.

NZ should stop playing cricket if they can't defeat WI by an innings from this position :afridi

WI already one down. No TV channel in BD broadcasting this series and I have not painfully watch low quality streams

Powell gone. WI 24/2

Not an Uncommon scorecard for us BD fans, these things were regular 7-10 years back. Luckily we dont see such too often these days :) Hope the so called "Lara" finally scores some runs under his belt.

West Indies trail by 542 runs with 8 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

Stumps Day 11

This is a very decent batting surface . I expect WI to score around 400 .

Is Sodhi ready for int cricket ?

Wanted to see Boult and Southee nick off a few more.

I can see the Windies rebuilding here the wicket is a decent batting wicket.

Gutted Gayle isn't playing he would have been a sitting wicket for Boult.

i would like to see WI put up a fight for crickets sake. NZ v India could be a good series

WI getting butchered again.

They should be stripped of their Test status and given to Ireland.

Chanderpaul batting at a very quick rate.

Average of 52 after 151 tests is an amazing stat.

Underrated for sure.

The Boult/Southee opening partnership is criminally under-rated. While they are not the best, they deserve to be in the debate alongside Steyn/Philander, Anderson/Broad and Junaid/Irfan.

It's amazing how shyte this team has gotten. Just 100% not interested in the game IMO. There's some decent players in there they shouldn't be getting belted like this.

It's really sad seeing this side in Tests...a generation ago they struck fear into teams wherever they went, didn't lose a series for 15 years till 1995. They were the only country other than England that OZ played 5 Test series with. Since them it's been a decline. You think back to the Lara days when we were all criticising them for players like Sherwin Campbell, Stuart Williams, Jimmy Adams et al - that team is still miles better than they are today.

+1

Other than Chanderpaul none of them really care about tests.

Er.. they're much better than Junaid/Irfan...

We've found our replacement for Vettori :)

Point is the pair of Junaid and Irfan is non existent saying that Boult and Southee should be associated with them is a bit of an insult.

Junaid/Irfan shouldn't be mentioned with Steyn/Philander, Anderson/Broad and Boult/Southee.

DRS takes like 10 min to load in this match.

I thought that was out but the googly turns to much.

When I woke I was shocked to see the scoreline 150-2 for, and thought that WI scored 80 runs without the loss of any wicket, and the same batsman were batting

Then i realized that the match was in NZ which meant that the match started earlier and that Windies were following on. Great show by Kiwis, Poor stuff from Windies. The Windies have a lot of classy players in their side but they have no interest in test cricket apart from Bravo, Samuels and Chanderpaul. God knows how someone like Sammy is captaining a top 8 side!

No disrespect to NZ, but these spinners aren't particularly bowling unplayable deliveries. WI player's inability to play spin is a good reason for their demise.

He is bowling a deceptive wrongun on a new zealand pitch. Give credit where it is due.

There's only been a couple of wickets to spin. We are getting excited because Sodhi is bowling some really good Wrong uns and showing glimpses of his potential.

NZ has never had a good leg spinner so its new ground.

We did have a good leg spinner... only he got 240 wickets or so for Australia.

What's happening here? Thought the Windies would have been bowled out by now

What about an offie? Surely NZ have in their history produced atleast one decent specialist offie (Nathan does not count-he doesn't spin the ball)

Read my post again.

I said that NZ bowled very well today, including getting WI allout for less than 250 on a pitch that looks flat. I did not watch the first innings because I was asleep, as for the 2nd innings the spinners looked good, and importantly they bowled consistently just saying that did not bowl unplayable deliveries. But be happy about the fact that your spinners are inexperienced and should/will get better only from here on if they work hard.

So what's the big fuss about Sodhi. I saw some highlights and it doesn't look like he could spin a bottle let alone the ball. If you're a fast bowler charging in and spraying it around because you're trying to bowl at 150 it's understandable, if not acceptable, but a spinner spraying it around beggars belief.

Brother was telling me of an interesting stat about leggies really starting to take off after the age of 26.

Had some decent ones like John Bracewell but not many attacking spinners from NZ. Mostly guys who can tie up an end and bowl all day.
