What's new

New Zealand vs Pakistan | 1st T20I | Wellington | Jan 22, 2018 | Pakistan Innings

Foot work isn't good - T20 generation, groomed to hit through the line, But, timing, placement and array of shots are much better; and plays spin as good as any other contemporary line up.

May be he is not that good but i always find sabbir more enjoyable to watch than hafeez and co.

When it come to technique i find bangladeshi bats more assured and compact in these conditions.

Our batsmen are technically superior and in whole team in general is much fitter.

But we lag behind in power hitting and pace attack, thats why we struggle a lot. We got our basics right, but being good in basics don't win you big matches and against tough oppositions

Cnt blame malik & Hafeez today theyr replacements r equally as mediocre as them!!

They are the reason for these - what you are watching from MoHa, Malik is after 20 years and don't know how many tours - these kids are coming from QeA style to UAE, then here. If Haris gets 3 Test & 5 ODIs in SAF or AUS, he'll teach MoHa, Malik how to bat on such wickets.

Its pretty obvious Pakistan has a much stronger cricket history than NZ.

You can only live off past glorys for so long however. NZ is a better side at present.

Hafeez would greatly improve this team and fans pretend like he isn't one of your best.

I believe that subcontinental teams like Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan are really poor travellers. Worse than non-SC teams when they tour us.

I'd expected Pakistan to perform better but its not been the case

Since Pakistan has moved to UAE, things have only gone south. UAE is terrible place to play cricket. Low and Slow is a killer, you can be 50 years and still can play test cricket, no reflexes needed at all.

Its lot easier to adjust to low and slow, then high and fast. No of people playing cricket is less of a factor. SA produce lot more high quality cricketers per person than any other team, they have one of the toughest conditions, fast, bouncy and seaming...

Pakistan used to tour better(relatively), when domestic cricket was geared for fast bowlers. Right now we have terrible pitches, bowler with 120 pace are topping chart, with little skill and age of 40. Amir and Wahab were last 140 clicks fast bowlers and they debut in 2010, We have not seen a single fast bowler in over a decade, there is non in domestic in all those years...How in the world that can carry on

We won a world tournament six months ago.

His bat swing, hand-eye is outstanding and bats with a high back lift, so looks good. Timing is natural, which hardly anyone in world has better than MoHa.

To repeat, I will take this team selection of a year of losses vs playing the same old rubbish

Wouldn't agree with this. Only Sarfraz and Haris are unfit in Pak. And then you have the someone like Tamim in BD team.

T20 is actually fun cricket. Good for entertainment value and nothing else. Aman is spot on when he says no one outside of Pakistan and India takes this format seriously. Yes, we're all watching the game now but if we were to lose the next 100 T20 games on the trot, I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

I can bet right now that these will be Rance’s best bowling figures till the end of his career unless Pakistan have other ideas in the next 2 games

Hafeez would greatly improve this team and fans pretend like he isn't one of your best.

Hafeez has been the least of our problems on this tour. Extremely under rated player.

Babar plsss hit at least one boundary..i have not seen single batsmen not hitting boundary in entire t20 innings as many balls you played

I have to say,Grant isn't doing anything. Every batsman is trying to swing across the line against bounce - on these 60 metre grounds, a much effective shot can be upper-cut - that's deliberate high cut over point.

Look at these idiots bashing Babar. Without him we wouldn't even have hit 40.

WI have won more ICC trophies than Pakistan the last 15 years, it doesn't make them better than Pakistan.

You like to butt in everywhere don't you?

Perhaps this is the first time your team has any relevance :)))

This is the only time I would take a typical Babar inning. Needed to stay till the 20th over and make sure we bat out. However, let's not pretend he would've batted any differently had our top order piled on runs. He should not be in a T20 team. Period.

Cricket isn't everything for us lol, we have other sports we're successful in and enjoy more.

Pakistani Virat Kohli trying his best to get to his fifty in the last over? :))

Babar playing in T20s like he should have played in ODIs. Always one format behind, our batsmen.

So babar waited till the last over to hit and could only manage one boundary before getting out..

Babar can only hit six on low and slow, that tells you the quality of our players...Keep playing in the God Dam UAE. PSL happens to be there as well, just a waste of time

Don't mind a bit of solidity in the middle order, as long as they don't waste too many deliveries.

One solid batter can't do miracles when other 8 are doing nothing. Even though this line up is doing the worst it can, I maintain that Haris and Babar aren't T20 batters

Tamim was ridiculously unfit in the past, he has improved a lot.

Fitness is actually an interesting thing. What would you use to compare fitness? Lean-ness? Ability to play for long time without fatigue or losing stamina? Avoiding injury? Not falling ill? Obviously its a mixture of all 4 of these points but definition of fitness varies from person to person.

Some Pakistani ex-cricketer on a talk-show was stating that Pakistan players are not fit as their counterparts. Also, some Pakpassion moderator/admin tweeted that Bangladesh players looked fitter in the champions trophy warmup match.

IMHO our players are pretty fit. We have a pretty fit bunch who are quite agile in the field. Pakistan too has improved in that aspect with someone like Shadab and Hassan.

Decent score on this pitch, I don't think the game will be one sided and could be quite close if Pakistan bowl well.
