They have already shown in Game One that they know how to bat, bowl and field on these UAE wickets. Pakistan just got lucky today, we will have to play out of our skins from here on out to replicate our Australian performance.

Plus NZ should be fully acclimitized to the UAE pitches and conditions by the start of the test series and they will do their homework on Abbas and will not let Yasir Shah dominate them either.

Let's see if Sarfaraz can pass this test. Mohsin Khan will be ready to pounce at the first available opportunity

New Zealand has always done better than their neighbors in the desert.

Have bowlers and batsmen who can play in these conditions.

Finally some tough competition at home. This 'll really help our players develop their game.

Sick and tired of stupid people with their stupid logic of luck and fluke after every Pak win

Good litmus test for us. NZ were more competitive in one game than AUS were on the entire tour.

Yeah no doubt nz will win this test series with Yasir not in form and Bilal not a regular full time spinner.

Kiwis took some outstanding catches today and I don’t think they will repeat it. Their bowling is weak. But they have very good batsmen, Taylor is the main man, he really goes after Pakistani bowlers :akhtar

While I agree NZ are a step up from the hapless Aussies, I didn't find their batting impressive. Munro is not going to hack his way to 50+ scores every match, and the rest of the batsmen were just thrashing around. For NZ to lose this match after a rollicking start is quite poor, and the result looks close because their experienced players stretched the game to the end.

That’s true, but Australia missed at least 4 very good players, so it was not a surprise they struggled in these conditions.

OH my ,such an awesome team these Kiwis, why dont we just chuck all the trophies at them and then everyone can go home.
Yes NZ are markedly better than Australia but quit with this ** about how they are sure to win whatever comes their way. This sort of stuff has been said in nearly every match which Pakistan has won in recent times.
You really cant seem to give credit where its due.Pulling the game back after NZ got off to a flyer is no luck.If you go back and analyze the 240 deliveries in this match you will actually see that if anything, luck favored NZ somewhat more.Apart from Munro and Taylor the rest didnt really do much of note..not saying they cant but really need to keep the opposition hype machine in check.
As for the Test series, its kinda early to say but a bowler like Abbas does not really need much homework done to him.He is all about disciplined persistent trundling and look how well he has done against both Australia and England.Players like him arent exactly a novelty especially in SENA.

I am actually more concerned about Pakistan's batting. They really struggled against NZ bowling attack and ground fielding.

That still does not mean that the test series is going to be a sure loss.If Yasir was not in form in the first test agasint Australia, does not mean he will still be out of form he still nipped out wickets and bowled well by the second test. And Bilal wasnt half bad either, cant underestimate him.

NZ is a far more balanced side than many teams in LOIs. However, they got lucky to get their total close to Pak in reality.

People on this thread are talking as if this isn't NZ but the great Aussie team of the 90's and 00's. :))

Lolz , on what basis you are saying that ? There has only been one match between two sides and that too pak won . So your statement appears only an exaggeration at the moment .Relax mate , we ll win inshallah .

NZ do not drop any catches and they have Munro, Williamson and Taylor. This makes it harder to beat them. Pakistan will need their A game every time.

Yeah just like Australia were expected to win the second test after their impressive showing in the first test. PP experts :))

Def agree NZ will be a much sterner Test than the Aussies.

It will be competitive series in all formats against them.

The same can be said about NZ. Pak is the best T20 side and NZ will have to play harder. Pak Fielding and Bowling is top notch. Even though they are playing in a place which doesn't suit their batting or bowling, they have capability to out do NZ majority of the time.

Some Pakistanis unfortunately have no sense of pride. I understand that collectively our country is down but I will back my country or those striving for its success every time as all Pakistanis should.

Syed1 we need to inject some energy, far too many pseudo-logic threads for my liking.

Thanks. It should be fun then. NZ haven't played much in last 5-6 months.

I don't think they've played any international cricket in the past few months.

Anyhow we need to beat them 9-0 gotta take revenge for the 2-0 Tests, and 5-0 ODI's

Their best 2 bats for T20 scored well n fast 2day.
Our best 2 bats didn't even show up and the 3rd didn't even play.
So we got through a tight one today

Just when I am about to agree with you, you come up with something outrageous, how can you say the team got lucky today? It was a well fought out match. Pakistan kept on taking their wickets at crucial times even though nz got a really good start. The bowlers maintained their cool and continued to bowl in the right areas. Fielding was also top notch.

Pakistan obviously has a tougher opponent this time around and they definitely know how to play well in T20s. Beating them will make the Pakistans win even sweeter and this will require Pakistan to raise their game. Pakistan should not hesitate to make changes to the side as well and include players who will be more effective against New Zealand. Despite having some good spinners New Zealand’s strength comes from fast bowlers and bringing in Fakhar Zaman back in the side will be a good move as he likes the ball coming onto the bat and could help him come back into form.
