Forget cricket model of India that everyone is trying to replicate. It's the New Zealand's model that needs to be studied

An island nation with population so little keeps on producing these performances in ICC tournaments, regularly being in semis and finals. And on top of that cricket isn't even the number one sport in that country

What can be this success attributed to? Genes? Domestic cricket structure? School curriculum? What is it?

Ye bhaijaan ne sherya ki post copy ki hai 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 :klopp :kp

Mike Hesson tried to replicate it with Pakistan, the end result we all saw infact Hesson is back in Auckland ,

They are a clever team with fantastic resource management. They have always been. Also its the sporting and active life style they have. For some reason one could never tell if they are under pressure.

World class proper batsmen and bowlers, aided by a couple of real intent merchants not the fake one as propagated by @Rana for Pakistan team.

Allen > Farhan
Seifert > Saim
Ravindra >>>> Salman
Phillips > Babar
Chapman > Usman
Mitchell > Shadab
Neesham > Nawaz
Santner >> Tariq

Less said about Shaheen as a bowler vs Lockie or Henry, the better.

Have a look at our team and then look at their team.

That's how they do it.

Proper batters, bowlers and all rounders.

Our team ?

One day Saim is a bowler, the other day he is a batter.

One day Shadab is a fielder the other day he is a batter.

Good luck with that.

Let’s not forget they are the real and deserving winners of the 2019 ODI CWC apart from being Test Championship winners.

If they win the final, they would have won every format ICC tournament inside 7 years.

People always say they have been unlucky etc etc but tbh they have been equally lucky too.
Did not perform that great in super 8. Qualified on nrr. 2019 wc same scenario.
Got great conditions against india for boult to work with. As unlucky we think they are they have had their share of luck too

They know how to use luck during group stage. They could've been easily eliminated in group stage during 2019 WC, and this T20 WC. But once they are in Semi, they can KO any top tier teams like RSA, IND, ENG, except Aus of course.

New Zealand shouldn't have played World Cup 2019 final.

India who were unbeaten in league stage had their match washed out vs New Zealand in group stage which earned a point for New Zealand & they reached the semi-final. Or else Pakistan could have got through to the semis.

They were lucky in the semi-final vs India, they were struggling & rain came down which turned the semi into two day contest, the weather changed completely and the contest turned in New Zealand's favour.

New Zealand have been playing their best cricket in recent years and they have a good chance to replicate their ODI and Test World Cups victories (2019 & 2021) to the T20I format too.

The sports system in their country. I believe physical education is part of their school curriculum and in Australia aswell.

They dont play sports to become professional sportsman, they play sports as an activity and the better ones eventually become professional.

They are an atheletic bunch.

Plus, Nz has adapted well to indian wickets in the many years. After they lost the back to back series in Bangladesh, these guys have focussed more on pitches than just ģoing with a random attack of pace. They play by the conditions.

Great team, hope to see win it

Also unlike India, SA,

They don’t have quota for selection. Less corruption and select on merit

Strength and conditioning of these guys is levels above subcontinental players. Besides they have muscular power too. Guys like Phillips have freak power. Loki bowls thunderbolts.

Fitnessm strength and conditioning is their biggest strength. Add professionalism to it and that makes for a competitive unit.

You don't score a 33 ball hundred just by luck against a high quality bowling attack. They surely have great system and they all seem to work together towards the same goal with no leg pulling.

Definitely Kiwis deserve all the praise for their achievement. But we note one point. In most cases, they are the team who qualify as the fourth team to the knock out. In 2019 and 2023 WC, one can note this. Still they deserve respect for doing well in knockout.
