With the NHL season coming to close as of April 6th playoff fever is around the corner all the hockey fans share your views your hopes and predictions I think we will have an exciting playoff this year as well

If people are interested I might do a pool on this thread for the NHL playoffs it's a pool for fun so their isn't an actual prize just for glory itself lol if anyone interested let me know and I can set one up here

In regards to the playoff itself before the seasons started i had sharks vs leafs in the finals with sharks winning it

I don't think leafs will get that far but I'll stick with my prediction

The playoff format is dumb.

Leafs vs Bruins in the first round again.

I like the format although I do agree there should be more for teams doing well in the season, but Leafs and Bruins really get physical and its great to see, hopefully this year leafs overcome them!

Seriously though Leafs defense has not been great esp against better offense teams, I would be cheering for Lightning and Leafs, somehow can never make myself like New England teams.

Who do you think will take the cup this year and who will be runner up

Also leafs messed up hard by not getting more defencemen during the trade deadline should have gotten a solid back up goalie too In my opinion

So far teams that's have clinched the playoffs

lighting , bruins , capitals

Jets, Predators, blues

Golden Knights , Flames , Sharks

Regular season has come to a close here are the match up and my predictions

Tampa Bay vs Columbus
Tampa to win 5 games

Toronto vs Boston
Boston to win 6 games ( i feel toronto defence will let them down)

New York Islanders vs Pittsburgh
New york win in 7

Washington vs Carolina
Carolina in 7 ( very risky i know but i feel they will be a dark horse team)

Calgary vs Colorado
Calgary in 4 games

San Jose vs Vegas
San Jose in 7

Nashville vs Dallas
Dallas in 6 ( feel like their will be an upset here)

Wnnipeg vs St Louis

Winnipeg in 7

When your born and raised in Canada it's kinda in your blood to love hockey

I can say most desis that grow up in Canada are big fans of hockey or basketball and soccer as well

Unfournantely not many get into cricket

Ironically I grew up playing basketball but i got into cricket after watching YouTube highlights of Pakistani legends

Born and raised here.

Hockey and basketball (once Vince arrived) were very easy to get into from a young age. In fact, cricket came much later for me.

I was born here and raised here too, same with all my desi friends, none of us watch hockey.

Bro I grew up here and I have never watched a game of hockey apart from that 2010 gold medal game vs the USA.

I feel like pak-canadians are less into hockey than ****-americans since they tend to grow up in desi majority towns. I played hockey as a kid, picked it up back when the salt lake city games were goin on back in second grade and then played until early high school.

Depends on the age group too.

Up to 1999/2000, Raptors were essentially non-existent. So, you were either a Leafs fan or nothing during the winters.

In my case, most of my extended family has been here since the late-70s. So, I probably have a different perspective and naturally gravitated towards hockey-loving friends (including South Asians) growing up.

That's super cool. I always assumed Pak-Americans loved football and basketball in America.

Most of my American family friends are football lovers (Washington Redskins lol). They can only name 2-3 hockey players.

I guess it also depends on where in America you grow up.

That's true, I'm probably like 5-10 years younger than you, so when I was reaching my preteen years, the Raptors were doing decently, same goes for Toronto FC.

It might also depend on where exactly you live, even within the GTA. I'd say that Basketball and Soccer are probably a lot more common for people in Toronto and Mississauga, compared to somewhere like Oakville where Hockey is probably a lot more followed.

Hockey is non existent in southern US.

Yeah nba and football is at the top for brown people however hockey is a niche sport in the brown community, a lot of brown kids here learn to skate young. I actually grew up in the south however my city has many northern transplants so hockey is quite popular, I moved here back when the Stars won their first and only Stanley cup so hockey became hugely popular after that.

Again I said most brother not all you even have those brown kids that grow up here than don't like sports but are more into video games or anime or arts or wtv but most do like hockey or basketball

Here in Montreal almost 90 percent of the brown community that grew up here are into hockey

I got into cricket in 2007 like started following very minimal but I became a die hard fan after Pakistan world t20 victory in 2009 and that's when my passion for cricket and Pakistan cricket game alive lol

After leading 3-0 Tampa bay found a way to lose to Columbus 4-3. Credit to Columbus , but shame on Tampa bay for not skating the full 3 periods but regardless a very interesting start to the series

What a playoffs were having so far folks

Toronto leads bostons 2-1

Columbus leads Tampa bay 3-0

Islanders leads pens 3-0

It's seems like we got some upset City coming up lol

Things are starting to heat up

What a win by Carolina yesturday Agaisnt the capitals

Also St. Louis come back from behind to beat Winnipeg that's a great series

Big game tonight Toronto vs Boston with series tied at 2 a piece

no senators no fun

This years playoff has been more than fun :) Colorado elimnated Calgary in 5 games , flames were hot favourites to do well , how ever they did lack playoff experience despite doing so well in regular season

In fact it's the first time in history that both 8th place teams in the east and west elimnated top seed in the first round together

What a playoff we are having so far :) maybe the best I have seen in a long time who would have thought Carolina would clean sweep the Islanders :) canes might just go all the way

Boston elimantes Caroline hurricanes are in the finals

St. Louis San Jose series is turning out to be a good series

Would be awesome to see Blues win this, they have had a great season and hopefully can go all the way!

What a story it would be for the St. Louis Blues to win the cup with a rookie goalie and they had a hard playoff too playing really good teams such as Winnipeg Dallas and San Jose who I thought would elimante St. Louis.

Their just one win away from creating history and winning their first Stanley cup. Crazy how they have been around since 1967 and never won hopefully they can clinch it at game 6 will be amazing if they can win in front of their fans

Its such a positive team honestly, they have played with so much passion , its amazing and if blues win hopefully leafs can come across their terrible knockouts against Boston as well.

Leafs will have to make some changes and make their defence stronger but it seems like they will a lot of rumours going on as we'll that the leafs will shake up the team a bit. Hopefully for you guys you don't play Boston again in round 1

St. Louis Blues championssssss "bleed blue" , so glad Bruins didnt win, happy for blues!

Great win for the Blues!

Tremendous effort to win on the road in a cup-deciding game 7.

What a win by the St. Louis Blues who would have thought they would make it this far and go on to win the cup amazing team this. Hard luck for the Bruins but didn't want to see them win either.

Crazy thing is blues in the first period didn't take a shot for 16 mins they end up taking one and it goes in lol

I wonder what next season holds for us
