Oh, get real. She is nine. One adult can control a nine year old. If that was your daughter you would go absolutely spare.
Yes one adult can control a nine year old girl, but the police have restrictions in place that disable many of the methods adults can implement to control the child.
Everything the police do is recorded and analysed after the fact, any slight miscalculation in the heat of the moment and it will be headlines. Every person they come into contact will act and react differently and they have milliseconds to process just about every law to conform to standards. Its a job not many last long at because of the stress involved.
Smart people like you me and stewie would never be policemen because we know the how the public treat police. People are free to abuse the police and there is no support from the public, its a lonely life being a police officer, nobody trusts or likes you. As I said most leave the force because the stigma of being a police officer impacts on you and your family.
I see a larger more sinister quantity of disrespect for the police from the general public than I see the police disrespect the public.

Police should be held to high standards. If you can’t do that, then might as well let them run rampant. Their job is to protect and serve. If they make bad judgment calls and do the opposite, maybe they should not be in this profession. Easy as that.

If a child can be picked up and put in a squad car, is that use of force? I think it is. Acceptable? I don’t see why not.
Can a child be shot in the leg, pepper sprayed, slapped, spanned, caned, hit in the head? Would all that be considered use of force? Yes. But not acceptable.
It’s kind of sad I have to treat you like a child explaining a simple concept here. Don’t mean to insult your intelligence but I felt I had to do it because you seem to have an over simplistic view of things here just to fit your narrative.

In reality these people will raise all kind of heck if their own child or they themselves confront such situations.

What I'm OK with is irrelevant, its not the issue and you have even that wrong. This issue is not going to be solved by demonizing the police, if you cant look at the incident and understand the actions of all involved then you have not much chance of find a solution that is effective.

One of the craziest things about online forums is when people back themselves into a corner and then try to justify the most outlandish of positions.
On PP we have people who take a pro US police and anti-BLM stance to the extreme that now means they have to justify a small child being pepper sprayed.

I cant really comment on the BLM movement in the US as I genuinley have no idea of black struggles...but as an outsider surely wanting reform of the police benefits ALL communities.
I dont understand why there seems to be massive support for the police in the states among low-income whites.
The left are calling for defunding of the police, just think about that. The two biggest problems in the US police is training and attracting quality candidates. US police get around $31hr, defunding the police will mean less pay and less training.
What measures would you like to see that would improve the quality of police officers and why it would work?.

No the 'left' aren't calling for that. One or two groups may be.
I seem to recall several politicians on the left calling for defunding the police, so I happy to agree to disagree.
If the police are to improve what steps do you think should be taken.

In America, That’s a very common and oft repeated narrative from the RW media. The left will take away your liberties, they will take away your guns, they will take away freedom of speech, they will defund the police, this that. The left similarly exaggerates some stuff too.
But nothing happens. Biden is the president and I guess he is THE LEFT and I don’t see him defunding the police. It’s a bunch of horse**** coming out of people’s mouths.
But hey freedom of speech and someone pays for their internet too, so you can’t really shut them up. Lol.
