I don't want to tempt fate and yes it was only a T20I but how good does it feel to be talking about what looks like a very promising young talent for Pakistan - Shadab Khan.
he will be the number 1 ranked t20 bowler after 2-3 years
I rate him as a potential superstar in LOI cricket.
Have to see a bit of him in test before making an opinion.
Folks haven't seen him bat but this guy is a really competent bat aswell.

he should play all formats, his batting and fielding is a big asset as well
As of now his googly is unplayable and hasn't been cracked yet. Remains to be seen till how long that remains and who is the first person to master him.

Yeah..but are you excited than in the case of Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan?
Imad is threatening?Really excited about him. Along with Imad we have two spinners who are not only threatening they also keep a lid on the runs. Number 4-5 in the rankings is just round the corner. Need to get rid of TTFs in batting though.

Very promising but given the trend for Pakistani talent to take a sharp turn to the left (no pun intended), I am going to wait and see before getting my hopes up too much.
I just started getting excited about Sharjeel and look what happened. When Nasir Jamshed arrived I thought we had a new Saeed Anwar. When Shehzad arrived I got very excited. Heck even Yasir Shah went from the best bowler in world one Lords test match to a nothing bowler in the very next game. Rasa Hasan was once promising. Sami Aslam too (although Sami still has time). Shoaib Maqsood looked like the second coming of Inzi. Umer Akmal looked like the next legendary batsman of world cricket. Junaid Khan once was the leader of the pace attack performing so well that he commanded a category A contract. Even Amir hasn't been the same since his come back. Mohammed Irfan once looked one of the most potent bowlers in the world and even Mohammed Talha looked special for a brief period.
The list goes on and on and on. For some reason, in Pakistani cricket, players turn from world class to nothing in literally the space of a game or two. How and why it happens, I just don't know. Given the disappointments, its best not to become so excited that when these players let you down, you feel upset, which has happened to me a lot!

The single biggest difference between PK players and Ind players is intelligence. The lack of intelligence leads to a poor work ethic and hence the waste of talent like Umar, Shazad etc. I hope Shadab is an intelligent person.
And then people like Imran Khan go talent is not getting a chance to perform in the PSL... we are investing in foreign players instead of that... look at this guy, if anyone knew what this guy was capable of before the PSL please raise your hand...
The credit of this only goes to PSL.. its the brand thats bringing our identity back to our cricket.. what an aggressive little lad, full of energy and a bag full of tricks
if u didnt know it b4 its ok but for ur kind information mos of pp member knew it and inzi was backing him he was seleected for A tour...he is nt psl product at all he was in u 19 wc squad as well performed in pakistan cup and first class...
There was Imran Nazir as well, Yasir Hameed had a promising start, Mohammad Asif, Ehsan Adil and the list goes on.
The players don't. It's the fans who jump from one extreme to the other and then blame the players for not living up to their expectations.

His leg-break and googly is better than Yasir already, but the hallmark of a top class Test spinner is not just taking wickets in helpful conditions, but restricting the flow of runs in unhelpful conditions. This is where Yasir has come up short in comparison to Ashwin - he turns into a helpless kitten when the batsmen attack him.
Tahir, Mishra and Kaneria had the same problem. Time will tell if Shadab will be different, but skill and ability wise he is way above Yasir, who has been playing F/C for a decade but still hasn't mastered the leg-break and the googly, and only looked good when he Mushtaq was with the team.
Talent can be identified without the PSL but the PSL is a springboard to international cricket, and gives you more recognition in three weeks than any other domestic tournament will in three years. Performing in the PSL is the quickest way to get into the Pakistan team. Shadab would have made it eventually, but he certainly wouldn't have been in the team now if it wasn't for the PSL.
Babar Azam and Shadab are definitely in the top two.

Unfortunately PSL and WI are far from a benchmark to gauge a guy's talent...having said that for Pak's sake hope he lives up to the promise.
He was all over Babar Azam who himself is a pretty solid batsman, Deceiving Malik who is one of best spin players.
Has earnt praises from Sanga without even being asked, So there must be something about him.
Even the ones who don't hype up players see the potential in this guy.
I am surprised more people dont rate his batting.
There is a lot to work with there .
Very very fine talent .
I hope people lay off him if he fails once or twice because a lot of people were calling for sharjeel's head despite him always being a special talent with one of the best reflexes in the game and probably the only one in the country who could consistently hit back of a length genuine fast bowling.
Pakistan's limited overs side has some fine talent and the results will follow.
all the best young players Pakistan produced are destroyed by luring them into fixing. First Amir and then Sharjeel. Hopefully the streak is stopped. This guy seems to be very talented. The PCB should ensure that he is not lured into fixing
Mamoon I think this is better for the player as well rather than rooting in domestics, Brought onto international with guys like Arthur and Grant Flower with team.
Some players fade away in domestics (Nauman Anwar seemed to have immense potential until someone totally screwed his batting stance).
What about his batting ability? I was most excited about that and anything would be an upgrade over Yasir in terms of batting
I saw some clips of him batting, not fully convinced , does he have the ability to be Afridi type hitter ? 20 odd fast runs ?
Watching Shadab play would have been like a bucket of cold water on patch of burnt skin for you. So now you can claim a T20I rookie is better than the best leggie since Warne
It doesn't matter if he is a T20 rookie or not. Anyone who understands leg-spin can see that both his leg-break and googly are better than Yasir's. In terms of development, he is well ahead of the 'best leggie since Warne' and unless something unexpected happens - which admittedly happens a lot in Pakistan - he should be a better bowler than Yasir within a few years.
I don't need any water on my burnt skin. Yasir got exposed last year because he was not able to control the run-rate when the batsmen attacked him, and his decline started. He will be 'officially' 31 this year, and his fitness is pathetic. He will be finished within 2 years.
Indeed he has massive potential with the bat.
I hope Grant Flower is aware of that and works with him.
I rated Amir a lot in 2010 and Sharjeel Khan this year, hope he doesn't suffer similar fate
Really?
I have always found him to be very fit. Great Stamina bowling so many overs in tests same energy and so agile, takes really good catches ( alex hales one in Eng test eg)
How do you get this impression?
