Pakistan have done well so far and it was impressive to see them adjust their batting order today.

Should they go in with this combo for the next game too?

The change in batting order could well become permanent - but apart from that, does Khushdil Shah warrant a place?

We're just playing musical chairs at this point.

Our entire middle order is rubbish, yet all of them might fluke an innings here or there. I am not really bothered who out of our hapless bunch plays. The team is Riz-Bab plus whatever the bowlers can defend and that won't change by Australia.

I’d like to see Haris rested. He’s too important to overplay. Hopefully Naseem recovers for this game. We need him in some form of rhythm before the WC.

Does anyone know if Jamal has travelled?

Unfortunately, looks like Jamal hasn't travelled. Nowhere to be seen in team videos.

I think it's only the WC squad that has travelled. Doesn't even look like Fakhar is available either.

I hope there's a rotation of bowler. I would like to see Hasnain & Naseem come in for Rauf & Wasim Jr. Let's keep in mind, Wasim Jr. was injured not that long ago and is very young. It's best not to over work him.

Shan should not play anymore. Ever.

Iftikhar is an inferior Afridi. Bowls ok and bats ok. He’s just barely making the squad rn.

I think the Shadab and Nawaz experiment should be persisted with. Haider and Asif should get another shot too, simply because they have shown glimpses that they’re made for t20s

So the order can be played around with Riz, Bab, Shadab, Nawaz, Haider, Asif. Maybe try Haider at 3 for a bit.

They will continue to play him as they dont have a choice.

As per a report:

Naseem has improved while Hasnain is still resting.

Naseem participated in the net session today (Sunday) and yesterday without the participation of any other player in it in line with COVID-19 safety protocols. He recently recovered from coronavirus.

Squad players should be played from on, WC should be the ultimate target and hopefully they are well versed with top notch video analysis of other teams

Rizwan should rest or at least rest the glovework. M Harris absolutely deserves a shot again.

Haris Rauf deserves a rest as well till the WC, or for this game.

1) Rizwan (PM)
2) Babar (c)
3) M Harris (wk)
4) Shadab
5) Haider
6) Asif
7) Nawaz
8) Iftikhar
9) Waseem
10) Naseem (if recovered) / Rauf
11) Hasnain (if recovered) / Dahani

New Zealand may have been defeated in their T20 match against Pakistan - but the key talking point on social media was a hilarious description of their bowling plans by Glenn Phillips.

The Black Caps were brushed aside by Pakistan as they begin preparations for the T20 World Cup in a fortnight's time. It was an underwhelming display with both bat and ball as Pakistan romped to a six wicket victory at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

And batsman Phillips went viral on social media for discussing his bowling attack's plans to stifle Pakistan, whilst in the field being interviewed live on TV by match commentators.

When asked about his side's bowling plans in the opening stages of the Pakistan innings, Phillips revealed on the mic that the Blackcaps would look to bowl at 'c*** height' length to deny scoring opportunities.

Phillips said the Black Caps were aiming to bowl the 'c*** high length' to avoid the Pakistan batsman freeing their arms up and scoring big runs.

The unusual description of the 'back of a length' bowling plan evidently wasn't effective for New Zealand, who could not deal with the brilliance of Babar Azam. His 53-ball 79 in response to New Zealand's 147 guided Pakistan to their target effortlessly.

After losing to Pakistan, New Zealand are now underway in the T20 tri-series with a victory over Bangladesh.

The Black Caps cruised to an eight-wicket win over the Tigers, with a match-winning stand of 85 between Devon Conway (70*) and captain Kane Williamson (30) helping chase down a lowly total of 142.

Phillips, who created the viral moment on the mic in the previous game, enjoyed a late batting cameo in a much more convincing display as the T20 World Cup draws ever closer. Skipper Williamson was pleased with his side's improved display after the Pakistan defeat.

"Bangladesh played nicely in the powerplay and we knew the wicket was a challenge to bat fluently, but our bowlers were spot on to restrict them to a low total and then we had the partnerships going with the bat," Williamson said.

"It's horses for courses policy for the first few matches, we'll keep looking at our options going ahead.

Spinner Ish Sodhi became only the fifth bowler to bring up 100 wickets in T20 matches in Christchurch, an impressive feat that brought praise from Williamson.

"Ish has been amazing for us for a long period of time," he added. "He's an aggressive option who has won a lot of matches for us with his 100 wickets so far so hopefully there's plenty more to come."

Is Chacha also practicing hitting sixes only, Maybe going hard should be the approach from middle order like Haider did in last game.

I see both Hasnain and Naseem in those pictures. Are they ready to play?

Black Caps coach Gary Stead is optimistic speedster Adam Milne won’t be greatly bothered by an abdominal strain which forced him from the field on Sunday night.

Milne left the field as a precaution in New Zealand’s win over Bangladesh in Christchurch after experiencing stiffness in his lower abdominal area. He had got through two overs, going wicket-less for 12 runs.

Stead said on Monday morning that Milne was being re-assessed this morning but was hopeful he could even be in a position to play on Tuesday against Pakistan.

“It was only for one ball so it was completely precautionary him coming off,” Stead said of the pain Milne felt.

“He's being re-assessed again this morning ... we're hopeful he could be in a position even to play tomorrow yet.”

Milne was returning to the New Zealand side after an Achilles injury kept him out of the ODI series against Australia, suffered on the team’s white ball tour of Europe in July.

Stead also announced that allrounder Daryl Mitchell will travel to the World Cup, although he’s unlikely to be fit for the opening game.

Mitchell was ruled out of the tri-series at Hagley Oval against Pakistan and Bangladesh after fracturing his pinkie finger at training on Friday.

“He will tour with us to the World Cup,” Stead said.

“We're still hopeful he might be right for the first game but probably being more realistic being the second game.”

New Zealand will contest the opening game of the T20 World Cup against the hosts at the Sydney Cricket Ground on October 22.

Milne’s fellow fast bowler Lockie Ferguson is unlikely to play any part in the remainder of the tri-series this week after sitting out NZ’s first two matches with a minor abdominal strain, but Stead said the first-choice quick was “tracking really well”.

“The start of the World Cup – and I guess the games leading into that which gives him another week or so in preparation – is where we're aiming and targeting for him to be back playing again.”
