Offical Huddersfield Town Thread

Holland gets a free header for bournemouth! shocking marking!

what a piece of skill and chance from roberts, just bends ball past the post!

Danny Ings gives bournemouth the lead for 1st time in the Tie!

2-3 in extra time :(

end off the 1st half off extra time!

3-3 (4-4 Agg) - 15 mins to go! what a game! come on huddersfield!

Clarks last throw off the dice - Afobe off and Alan lee on...

Jason pearce sent off for bournemouth for a two footed tackle.

Harsh as its been a competetive game!

2 mins injury time to go or its dreaded penalties!

FT after extra time 3-3 (4-4 Agg)

Penalties it is!

woohooooooooo

4-2 on penalties! Old trafford here we come :)

So its going to be peterborough at OT on 29th May!

Very tough game and i think Posh would be slight favourites!

Dominated final for 80 mins but got picked off in the end on the break and lost 3-0 in last 10 mins!

what a sad end to the season :(

Footballing masterclass is how I can describe it. :D

AJ, you must really hate the Fergie's :P

(all in good fun)

hahaha dominated for 80 mins? what was you watching? first half was all us, CMS missed two sitters, peltier should have had two yellows.. second half your player took out our last man. first 30 mins of the second half was all huddersfield, you only really had one chance and that was the one that hit the bar.

CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL!

Gutted for Lee Clark - would have been nice for them to get promoted BUT he seems to be doing a cracking job there

Congrats to Peterborough and their fans, been a rollercoaster for them the last few years

Hopefully Huddersfield will bounce back and gain automatic promotion next year.

1st game off season v Bury tomorrow. hope we win it and get off to a flying start to the season. We are bookies favourites from automatic promotion this season!

Very dissapointing 1-1 draw at home to Bury to start the season off with :(

3 wins and 4 draws from 1st 7 games. (Unbeaten in 32 League Games now)

Currently 5th and play Sheff united (1st) and MK Dons (3rd) in next 2 league games.

thumping 3-0 win by huddersfield over top off the table sheff united!

a message of intent has been set down for the season!

Huddersfield's unbeaten league run is now 35 games - a record outside the top flight in England.

only issue is we have won 4 and drawn 6 games this season. 18 Points and currently 8th and 5 points behind charlton who are top top and they have a game in hand!

need to start winning games rather then drawing them!

37 games unbeaten now and up to 3rd place in the league! The run goes on!

Big game v preston in two weeks which will be one off the biggest tests off the season so far!

Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes scored his second hat-trick in two games as promotion-rivals Preston were easily dispatched.

yet another win as the run goes towards 40 games unbeaten!

I read elsewhere that they currently have the 4th longest domestic league unbeaten run in English football history

That is amazing

Huddersfield keeper Ian Bennett saved two penalties to secure his side a draw at Scunthorpe.

The hosts led through Oliver Norwood's fine 25-yard shot only for Tommy Miller's fierce strike to level it.

Bennett brilliantly saved Chris Dagnall's spot-kick before the break and then proved equal to Michael O'Connor's effort after the interval.

The Terriers thought they had won it from Jordan Rhodes' volley before Dagnall poked home to grab a point.

Huddersfield, who are now unbeaten in 40 League One matches, trail league leaders Charlton by three points.

Scunthorpe, who have drawn nine of their 15 league games this season, sit in 16th - two points outside the relegation zone.

------------------------------------------------

Brilliant keeping by bennett to keep run going! still in 2nd place, 3 points behind charlton!

Worryingly for Huddersfield fans Lee Clark is being linked with the Leicester City job

Although it is a division ahead I don't think it would be wise for him to move. He is doing a brilliant job at Huddersfield, he has the support of the Chairman and if they continue their good form then promotion to the Championship is highly likely

We have notts county and charlton in next 3 league games. The charlton game is massive as these are the top 2 teams in division at the moment!

Huddersfield Town set a new Football League record of 43 games unbeaten with victory over Notts County.

----------------------------------

Next up charlton away - who are top off the league, 5 points clear and unbeaten this season!

toughest test off the season next weekend!

The unbeaten run has come to an end, they lost 2-0 to Charlton

Played pretty well but poor defending on 1st goal and shocking refereeing on 2nd let Hudds down.

Team needs to be strong now as we are 8 points behind charlton and needs to put another strong run together!

43 games unbeaten as a run should be something the team is very proud of.

Now need to ensure we get promoted at end of the season.

it will mean nowt really if you don't get promoted

and didn't huddersfield get beaten during the during the unbeaten run in the play offs?

they lost in the play offs BUT they are not considered part of the league run

The teams form has been pretty poor since losing to charlton and they need to go on another long unbeaten run now to gain automatic promotion! Need 3 points against wycombe tonight!

They are certainly going to get that

Leading 6-0 with 20 mins to go

Rhodes has scored 5

27 goals already this season for rhodes. Unless we get promotion this season i cant see us holding onto him. Hes to good for this division and there are plenty of sides in championship and Premier league that are showing an interest in him.

12 PL scouts attended the Huddersfield game to watch rhodes score 5 goals. So he will be in even more demand now.

^People reckon he is off to Leeds...something doesn't add up.

He was supposidly sacked by chairmen over the phone and chairmen didnt even have the balls to do it face to face! Really poor decision.

If it was at end of season and we failed to get promoted id slightly understand. But doing it now is really poor stuff!

Yeah at start of the season we were bookies favourites and things havent gone to plan. Yeah they have been a few to many draws. The sqaud weve got is pretty good and clarke should have been given till end of the season to se eif he could have got us up. Lets hope who ever takes over can get us moving straighy away as it looks like sheff united could start to pull away. We really needed to win last night and yeah lm dissapointed like any other town fan but didnt mean we had to go to extreme of getting rid if the manager. I hope we do get a manager in with proven pedigree and we get promotion this season as otherwise we will struggle to keep hold of players like jordan rhodes.

From what I've heard, apparently Hoyle phoned up Clark and asked him if he'd applied for the Leeds job as speculated. Clark confirmed he had, and Hoyle had no hesitation in firing him. It was supposedly a 2 minute phone call.

Clark applying for the Leeds job was confirmed on Calendar yesterday. If you watch his interview after the MK Dons game, he was asked about the Leeds job. He didn't directly deny his interest and instead decided to talk about his qualities. It was a clear 'come and get me' plea.

I hope that he remains unemployed for the time being though- I want his application for the Leeds job to get thrown into the bin along with Phil Brown and Svens. Lee Clark is not good enough for LUFC, and it'd be a sad day if he gets the job. None of our fans want him.

Who do you want as Leeds manager? Colin I guess?
Yeah, between him and Mick McCarthy. We need someone who can make an immediate impact seeing as the playoffs are still a possibility. The majority of Leeds fans want one of them two, with Colin just slightly favoured.

I'd choose McCarthy, but I'd be delighted with Colin. Because we've been wasting time over this appointment though, we have competition for Warnock from Huddersfield and Wolves who have given him an interview.

If we miss out on Warnock we have to go for McCarthy but the current rumour is Steve Bruce which is disappointing.

Grayson is the new boss as speculated. Good choice, a better manager than Clark having already experienced promotion twice from League One. He'll get Huddersfield promoted sooner or later.

He's not Huddersfield's first choice though. Hoyle offered Warnock a £1m annual salary which is more than what he has agreed at Leeds.

Lets hope grayson can get Town promoted this season then!

geodie, there is a debate raging on wether we continue to call him colin

i've always called him colin

be interesting to see how grayson does at huddersfield though

if i was him i would have taken a bit of a break from football like mccarthy has done, but huddersfield are probaly offering him more cash both in terms of his wages and budgets in div 2, than we were in div 1

bates didn't trust him with any serious cash though, and the team of rejects he has left behind does tend to give credence to bates

he is not the brightest bloke, if i'm honest he's a bit thick but he has taken 2 teams out of div 2

hope he takes huddersfied up

how weird do this look:

sghudds.jpg

great start for messrs grayson, snodin and miller

would love it if udders and one of the sheff clubs come up

In the play-off finals again. 2nd year running i hope we beat Sheff united in final and gain promotion.

not too fussed if it's hudds or sheef utd

too tasty local aways next season

congratulations to 'uddersfield

why wasn't your top scorer taking one of the first 5 penalties?

Hopefully Huddersfield will be in the Premier league the season after next.

Congrats to Huddersfield, disappointed they couldn't do it with Lee Clark BUT their fans deserve it, too much heartache previously

PNE in 1st round of the league cup next season.

Hopefully some billionare decides to buy the club and get us into the PL :)

11 points from 1st 6 games of the season. (6th spot) - only defeat which was in the 1st game of the season.

Good start to season after selling star player jordan Rhodes to blackburn.

tough away game to leaders blackpool on sunday!

Excellent win away to blackpool 3-1

Now in 2nd place in the league.

Pretty decent start to the league season being in the top half, the loss of jordan rhodes has been replaced well with campbell, Vaughan and simon church all been got into the squad for this season. A top half finish this season would be excellent.

In the play-offs the club has massively overachieved this season but would be amazing if they could make it to the premier league.

Read the whole respect to AJ being a loyal supporter of a minnow through thick and then buti want Wednesday to rreturn to top flight

One game away from premier league, will be the underdogs against reading in final but they can pull it off! i really hope they do! would be dream come true to see them in the premier league!

Fantastic acheivement for club to make it to the PL when they were bookies favs for relegation at start of the season.

Well done great achievement. This will change the lives of some of their players.

Don't pay attention to Amjid Javed posts he is a glory hunter, really supports Arsenal; he doesn't support his local club as passionately as folk from brum.

:))) Where were you when your club was struggling, you were too busy celebrating the FA Cup after being scarred with the lack of a top 4 finish this season

I thought he lives in Manchester, born in Huddersfield but loves Arsenal. Confusing tbf.
