A few players in other teams that are star performers but could complete the Pakistan team to let them win the title?

I would take Shubman Gill for the Pakistan team

One solid batter who could set the scene for Pakistan's batting performances.

Who would you choose?

Rashid Khan.

A fantastic spinner that should be playing on a good team. It will be a spinners world cup

Ben stokes. Best cricketer in the world right now.
I would want his fighting spirit to rub off to the entire side. Our team's shoulders drop too quickly

Ravi Bishnoi

He’s probably way down the pecking order for India, but I would happily take him over all spinners in Pakistan

Harry Brook

But If I would choose any other Pak player from yesteryears, then it would have to be Abdul Razzaq..a true definition of a genuine fast bowling allrounder in his prime.. now we have Fahim Ashraf as our fast bowling allrounder.. I think our selectors would pay anything, to have a guy even half of Razzaq today…I think we have never missed any other player from Pakistan, as we have missed Abdul Razzaq..never got his replacement

I second Shakib. Decent spinner who can properly bat and even be a leader figure. 10x the player that Shadab is

Hardik Pandya - a quality 4th pacer who can also bat in any position.

Mohammad Haris (wk)
Saim Ayub
Abdullah Shafique
Babar Azam
Saud Shakeel
HARDIK PANDYA (c)
Azam Khan
Naseem Shah
Shaheen Afridi
Haris Rauf
Abrar Ahmed.

I won’t state a name; instead I’ll define the player that I believe Pakistan needs.

If it’s only one player, for Pakistan I’d recommend a batsman who can really dominate upfront, with a fair degree of consistency.

My reasoning - You’ve got pace bowlers of a certain standard already, so that’s out. Therefore it’s a choice between an all rounder, or a spinner or a batsman.

Of these three I’d choose a game changing frontline batsman as the player and role Pakistan needs most. A spinner would be good to have but not a necessity. Same for an all rounder.

An explosive top order batsman is the single greatest need of the team. You need to chase down large scores, change the game temp up front? Set a base. Now Fakhar Zaman won’t give you any consistency. Imam or Babar can build, but not force the pace up the order. Meanwhile Rizwan and Ifti can handle the middle overs.

So explosive top order bat. Take your pick of the ones available.

Anyone who has followed IPl would pick Buttler, Klassen, Rashid khan,. Stoinis, zampa decent shout

Jos Buttler for me.

Would give Pakistan the impetus needed in the early overs rather than the snail's pace batting we normally see.

Either Shakib or Stokes in place of Shadab Khan. Both can out bat/out bowl this guy.

Siraj I rate him highly.

Siraj
Shaheen
Naseem

That is an elite attack

Agree with spin, kuldeep

But we badly need a proper batsman who can elevate us. I am going to say Steve Smith. Always trust in Smith.

Pakistan sorely lack:
- Explosive batsmen
- Quality spinners
- Pace all rounders

Someone like Pandya could tick 2 of the 3 boxes i guess.

Ravi Bishnoi

He’s probably way down the pecking order for India, but I would happily take him over all spinners in Pakistan
Problem with Bishnoi in odis is that he is a primarily googly bowler and work in progress. He has to improve a lot and he may need a keeper like Dhoni to guide him from back.He is a must in 20 20s and he can learn from rashid.

Definitely Shakib, offers control in the middle overs while picking up 1 or 2 wickets plua his batting is better than anyone bar Babar and maybe Imam

It's the middle overs where tight games will be won or lost and best in the world at these are Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler.

Clutch batters who can rebuild inns or start hitting from ball one as per situation.

Every team in world would sleep happier knowing that middle order will always keep them alive in a game.

After Eng, SA have the best middle order setup with Markram-Klaasen-Miller axis.

Lets go team wise:

Australia: Mitchel Marsh
England: Stokes
South Africa: De'kock
NZ: No one
India: Pandya
Sri Lanka: Wellelege
Bangladesh: Shakib
Afghanistan: Rashid
WI: Chris Gayle (No one from current team)
Ireland: Stirling

Give me Mitchell Starc, forget about spin, I wanna see Starc, Shaheen, Naseem, and Rauf blowing sides away

For India, I'd have to say Rashid Khan.

Maybe a year ago, my answer would have probably been a Ben Stokes but Pandya's coming off age in the recent past has given that missing dimension to our side.

Rashid at 8 would just be the perfect jigsaw piece for India to win a World Cup in home conditions.

From an Indian perspective, I'd say

Rashid khan -- can dominate middle overs as a bowler and can add superb lower order batting

OR

Ben stokes -- Can contribute in all 3 ways and is a CLUTCH player. We have had superb teams over the past decade but missed Clutch players who perform when it matters. That's our missing cog in the wheel. We had Yuvi in 2011 who did that. We've yearned for one after that.

Ravi Bishnoi

Are you being serious? You have a golden ticket to select any world class player in the world and you select a player from India’s B team!

Rahmanullah Gurbaz

Solves many of our issues, a keeper that can open and bat at a high strike rate

Replace the fake all-rounders with genuine all-rounders.
I will pick Mitchell Marshall or Green for either Faheem or Wasim Jr.

For India, I would choose Stoinis for batting in the death overs. He can also bowl a few overs.

Shakib Ul Hassan. A complete allrounder who has ability to win match single handedly. He has proven his all-round skills over the years but his form during World cup 2019 was exceptional, which people will remember for a very long time.

I would pick Hardik Pandya. He seems to be improving his game with every day and at the moment he is in very good form with both bat and ball.

i would even take unselected players like Hales or Roy.
I agree - I would line up all the rejects and take a few.

Hales, Roy, Salt…

Im fact, maybe that is a better question. Of all the players that didn’t make it to their World Cup squad. Which one(s) would you take for Pakistan.

Im pretty sure I can fill the whole team with rejects and be better than our current team.

Ill take Rashid Khan over anyone. He can turn the game with the ball, wonderful fielder and can hit as well. The sort of a player Pakistan desperately needs in the middle overs and in the lower batting order.

Islamabad United could have had him if they wanted. They had the first pick in the draft and Shadab was captain. Hassan Ali was friends with Shadab and Hassan wanted to leave Peshawar to play with his friend. Shadab ended up using the first pick on Hassan Ali instead of Rashid Khan.......

Did you seriously insult Ben Stokes by putting him in the same sentence as shadab Khan 😂😂

What do you mean? Both Shakib and Stokes plays a similar role for their respective team that was given to Shadab. Imagine what these two can do in place of this low rated "all rounder"

And what did you mean by Stokes only? Did you seriously think Shadab was comparable with Shakib? Lmaoo ...

Why are we putting shadab and stokes in the same category? There is no comparison between them as one is a spinner an the other one is a fast bowler.

One player from other team.. it is no brainer for me as Indian cricket fan...
Shaheen Shah Afridi. Bumrah/Siraj/Afridi... Fire attack.
Afridi is a very useful tonker of the ball and he has improved his batting a lot.

I'm saying Stokes and shakib are far far beyond shadab's caliber lol

i wil definitely go for Bumrah.. Just Imagine both Shaheen and Bumrah sharing new kookabura ball on WACA, Perth.. it will make a hell of 10 over spell for batters.
