Overall record of Asian teams for Test matches in England

Their failures in eng and NZ aside, they do well in Australia.. we need to put up a better fight there and in SA as well. Yes they are number one mainly for playing at home but we need to improve and not look at others.. I guess you will always hold our own team to a higher standard and that’s what I am doing here .

Pak will do better if they take batsmen who can play better on bouncy pitches and have all the time to settle down and play long innings. Also, to take bowlers who have the skills to make the ball swing/seam, not just dead on straight like Amir after the first couple of overs. Keeping in mind that most Indian batsmen have been with their team for roughly 5 years or more while we have only Azhar Ali who falls in that category, I expect Pak team to mature and get better and better provided we keep the same management team with them!

My question was for abfan who said Pakistani batsmen have done well in England but it seemed strange to me their Indian counterparts didn’t.

Actually, Indian batters have done very well in England as well but Pakistan have come to England with some ATG bowlers historically and that is why they have gone down to win a lot more than India. In contrast, India have lacked support in their bowling and have relied mostly on 1 good pacer.

Both batting line ups have produced the same output in Eng. Both average around 28. Difference in test result is coming from bowling units.

That’s exactly what I was thinking myself. Our batsmen play good fast swing bowling at home so they are comparatively better equipped to handle it vs Indian batsmen.

See the record of India and Pakistan in Eng. It's a similar output in batting.

Difference in W/L ratio between Pakistan and India is explained by bowling unit,

Not a surprise at all. Pakistan's bowlers have been world beaters for almost their entire history apart from a brief period in the mid to late 00s. Add to that batting which is not far behind the supposedly superior Indian line ups (not just in England but almost everywhere else) and you have a nation that is simply better at the sport.
