Pak A V India Warm-Up Match| Official Match Thread (merged) [6/1/06]

there is one thing i noticed gul wasnt given that many overs to bowl compared to arafat. is this because they are holding him back or is he still coming out of injury. I just hope dhoni also gets a chance to bat a bit. I now want to see how zaheer bowls.

well technically they arent 7 down because against both yuvraj and vvs it says retired hurt. basically both made there half centuries and came out to give everyone a chance to bat. But now i think India should declare cause we need to test Indian bowling. I think Pak A batting line up is pretty good.

Good match practice for indians. we'll see how flat the pitch is when Pak bat now

They have declared Indians 414/7d (104.0 ov) Lunch time. I think Indians Bowling is weak! It will sho today.

414/7 declared...but yuvraj and Laxman retired? so shouldnt it be 414/5??

My only concern is with all 5 bowlers are in run for those spots in playing xi and they dont over do it. Zaheer is known to get to over pumped up. RP is a new n when he does get his chance he should impress a few. Agarkar , u never know what to expect from him.

so around now...

Cool. Farhat's got a chance to show the selectors today

TEEHEE....Ganguly didn't even get to play in the practise match, that's how little trust they have in him...TEEHEE.

He was in India playing domestic when this match started, Sehwag, Kumble and Patel are other three.

Ganguly was not in pakistan when the practice match started

Is this the same Bagh e Jinnah pitch where wickets were tumbling between pakistan A vs England ?

Yes it is, same pitch.

Good to have a live scorecard running...Hopefully Bazid can edge into the Pakistan 14 if he scores highly today (I know, it's unlikely he'll get picked, but I'm hoping...)

hmmm, Mohammad Wasim is not opening. :13:

Bazid Khan is opening. Bazid Khan is the vice captain for Pak A, and decided he will contest for that openers spot. Interesting.

I think he must have heard Yasir Hameed is sick so he wants to impress the First team and show them he can open and maybe steal the spot from Malik....

trouble...big trouble:

Indians 414/7d
Pakistan A 27/2 (10.0 ov) Pakistan A trail by 387 runs with 8 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

Pakistan A RR: 2.70

Minimum overs
remaining today: 46.0
Full Scorecard

26-2 wth waseem and bazid out. Our two future stars now Farhat and raza there

Hasan Raza has a little chance to make into the final 14, Farhat can still impress selectors.

Go FARHAT...........

I hope we bat well but i really wish Agarkar takes 3-4 wickets here, he gives too many freebies and will be handy in TESTS :)

Wow...I'm screwed, I have to be up at 9 am or so tommorow....it's 4 am here in Toronto...but I can't resist Pakistan cricket....its a disease....a fun disease....has anyone elses scoreboard updated?

85-2 farhat on 47, he needs a century today and inshallah he'll be in contention for selection

It's funny they're both competing for the spot.

Probably some agression involved? What if one decides to run-out the other one? :D

Its not possible because there's no press box in baghe jinnah stadium

Pakistan A 130/2 (26.0 ov)

Hasan Raza (RHB) 36 31 6 0 116.13 Striker
Imran Farhat (LHB) 81 107 14 0 75.70 Non-striker

It is going to be Imran farhat

Yeah but hopefully they both will take a furry of wickets soon after Farhat and Raza is done, so they're easy runs for us. :D

I think doing well in this match is more important for fringe players like Farhat - Raza has now picked up a bad rep based on his previous performance - and unless he can score a double hundred - dont see this making too much difference in the overall scheme of things...

Same applies to Gul ...

The other players will provide practice to the visitors and their team mates [End of downbeat comments]

I am most interested in how Harbajan performs, will see soon after tea.

is this a one day game or something. Both scoring at a great pace against the great indian lineup :O . over 5 runs an over being scored :11: . Proves this is lifeless pitch. No wonder our bowlers struggled. I love the way Inzi bob are using tactics, taking full advatage of the home. We are led to believe fast tracks will be produced for test series but this dead, just how they bamboozled the English. Clever thinking. :27:

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but PCB really let us all down by not hosting this practice game in a stadium with press-box facilities. I can't remember the last time I have been so excited about a warm-up game.

Hmmm actually England really struggled on this same pitch to make runs but India didn't struggle at all.

Right but from what I remember that track was lively?

The great Irfan Pathan going at 5.6 RPO :O

Great batting by Farhat and Raza. Malik's top spot under scrutiny now!

WOW, i feel much better now. I thoguht our bowlers stuggled against good indian lineup but now our batsmen are showing why:)

Farhat deserved a spot even without this inning but now he has done EVERYTHING he could, the ball is in selector's court.
It looks like that Hasan Raza is going for an ODI spot :)

Any update? Farhat reach his century yet???

Wow! Great batting by Pakistan! Lets see who gets the opening slot in the test, Farhat or Malik.

Something for India to cheer about, an almost maiden over.

Congratulations, Imran Farhat, great innings!

Was on 103 not out last time I heard.

Lets hope he gets a recall and plays instead of the make-shift opener we have right now.
