Pakistan [131/9] qualify for Asia Cup final with incredible 1-wicket win over Afghanistan [129/6]

Those 2 boundaries have yielded 10 runs but the 4 dot balls in that over against a mediocre medium pacer is a prime example of the issues Rizwan has of batting in the powerplay.

Hayat has been the better batter in this tournament. I've followed him for quite some time. He's one for the future as a T20 batsman.
 
its good that babar is failing , our middle order needs time in the middle and get the job done.

Fakhar absolutely needs to dropped for Haider at this point.

If you get out playing your shot, that is fine but this lazy running when you're the one calling for a tight single is unacceptable.
 
if you get a bowl like what babar received it doesnt matter which uniform the bowlee is wearing it was a wicket taking delivery.
 
We are in deep trouble here, the middle order doesn’t have the required experience and our batting goes missing against Afghanistan for some reason.

One of the reason why Pakistan struggles against Afghanistan in run chases is that they are too afraid of a defeat at the hands of Afghanistan. Against the big nations, the batters don't have that pressure of winning. Even if they lose, it's alright. But against Afghanistan, they play with that fear of losing to Afghanistan as if Afghanistan is a complete minnow.
 
Afghanistan have to bowl 12 overs of Halwa medium pace

Afghanistan has world class spinners in T20. The addition of Farooqi has given them a potent new ball option

Babar has had a poor tournament.

We all know it's not going to last for long.

Fakhar has made a habit of being poor and it's not going to change if he opens.

A good example is this Asia Cup.

Babar has been failing repeatedly, which has allowed Fakhar to come at the crease in the very first few overs.

According to you and your dreams, he would bash the bowlers in the powerplay overs.

What we have seen in this tournament is Fakhar not only struggling to score big, but more importantly, he has failed to match Rizwan's strike rate.

There goes your narrative.
 
With a low total like that, you can afford to play out Mujeeb and perhaps Rashid as well
 
Ok powerplay. Would've been nice with only 1 wicket down. But this partnership has to take the score up til 90 at least. It's Khusdil, Asif, Nawaz, Shadab to come. The spinners will devour them.
 
If god forbid we lose a wicket, send Shadab in next.
He is perfect for this situation.
 
Fakhar should be dropped or rested for some games. He seems absent minded sometimes. Haider should bat at no 3 in the next game against Srilanka
 
Rashid and Afghanistan would be better off keeping more fielders inside the circle

Iftikhar looks like a very calm player unlike Fakhar who never looked convinced and Iftikhar is record is very good in T20I so far. He should be promoted to no. 3 instead of Fakhar
 
If they are not going to attack Nabi i dont know what they will do...run rate is going up and it wont be easy to slog on a slow pitch like this
 
This has to be one of the best T20 tournaments ever... Nearly every game a thriller!

Pakistan, truly one of the worst teams at playing spin. My goodness are they clueless.
